Welcome to the Usage of Buffs and Buff Sets Guide!
HINT: To make finding the information you want easier. In the page you want to find information on something, just copy whatever text you wish to find. Be it any certain headings, the name of any particular buff that interested you and so on. Then hold down the CTRL+F keys while your on the wiki page, a little box that can by typed into will appear at the top right of the page. Then paste your text into the little box and search away! Welcome! If you happen to be lost and need to know about what this guide is for... it is all explained here!
This guide will only cover the Survivor Buffs and Buff Enhancements that can be equipped on the mgftw servers that are running Campaign or Survival game modes. If you are one of those survivors that need the basic knowledge on buffs and/or or are needing to refresh your memory on a few buffs you forgot about what they do, then this guide is for you!
All about the survivor buffs...
All Survivor Buffs:
- Offensive Buffs
- Defensive Buffs
- Ability Buffs
- Equipment Buffs
- Utility Buffs
- Economy and Exp Buffs
- Miscellaneous Buffs
Other Buffs:
Other Buffs are those buffs where the use of the buff can be applied to both the survivors and the infected, regardless of the side that you're on. Basically they're non-specific team buffs.
1. Starting Bounty+
Buff Requirements:
Cost: $5850 Cash
FR-Pills Cost: 1 FR-Pill
Required Level: 95
Description:
Increases your starting bounty by 7 as infected and 3 as survivor. Bounty is given after first survivor leaves the safe area.
Tips on Buff Usage:
- In COOP/Versus, if you think you will need that extra bounty in order to be able to survive or to turn the tide in a battle then it is worth equipping the Starting Bounty Buff.
Benefit in Buff Sets:
Survivors start out with 3 bounty and Infected start out with 7 bounty after the round starts.
Buff Enhancements that can be applied to this Buff:
- Sustained Bounty: Every time a Tank spawns, you gain 1 bounty.
<Active as both survivor and infected>
<Must be alive as survivor to activate>
2. Student+
Buff Requirements:
Cost: $450 Cash
FR-Pills Cost: 5 FR-Pills
Required Level: 10
Description:
Gives you 4 exp per second if there is at least one higher level player in your team. Effect only applies if you are alive.
<Affected by boosters>
<Doesn't work while in a saferoom>
Tips on Buff Usage:
- If you are wanting to level up faster in any mgftw server, then you can equip the Student Buff to give you a bit of a helping hand.
Benefit in Buff Sets:
4 exp gained per second if there are higher level players in your team while you are alive.

<Doesn't work while in a saferoom>
Buff Enhancements that can be applied to this Buff:
- Scholar: You now instead gain 4 exp per second for each higher level player.
