Smoker Buffs (IBaR)
  • Smoker Buffs (IBaR V2.0.3)

    Back to Main Guide Page

The order of the Smoker Buffs in this list are: Damage Dealer, Slower, Controller Role

Smoker Buffs are often used when you use your tongue to pin survivors and or go near them to inflict devastating AOE effects to any nearby survivors. Sometimes you may need to be patient when deciding to pin a survivor, regardless of location...

    1. Poisonous Spores (Damage Dealer)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $8,955 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 50 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 1

    Description:
This buff will make your spores extremely toxic and will damage survivors overtime. Survivors standing near you will be damaged by 3 HP/second and may get poisoned if they stand too long. Chance of getting poisoned starts as 0%, and increases by 0.5% on each toxic hit. Poison lasts 8 seconds.
<Dying will refresh the poison chance>

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • If you want to get close to the survivors, do so, but be careful not to get spotted if you're trying to damage them this way to poison them. Most smokers otherwise will go in there and get themselves killed to let other buff effects activate.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
You damage nearby survivors for 3 HP/s and have a 0% + 0.5% chance to poison for 8 seconds.
<Dying will refresh the poison chance>
    2. Super Smoker (Damage Dealer)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $10,350 Cash
    Required Level: 80

    Description:
Gives you 0.5 seconds of invulnerability after releasing a survivor voluntarily and 1 second if you are forced to release the survivor (shoved).

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • This buff can be useful for allowing you to get in there and annoy the survivors before you die and/or if you need to reposition yourself because of a missed smoke attack before you get killed in close quarter areas.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
Gain 0.5s invulnerability after releasing a survivor and 1s if you're forced to release them.
    3. Suffocation (Damage Dealer)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $1,350 Cash
    Required Level: 50

    Description:
You deal 10 HP additional damage for each 10 seconds that you suffocate a victim with your tongue.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • You'll only find this useful if you plan to dps the survivors using your smoker's special ability. Just make sure to not let go of that tongue, it'll reset the additional damage gained. It's worth noting that even with this buff equipped, it still takes sometime to kill a survivor unlike with the other damage dealer special infected.

    Benefit in Buff Sets
You deal +10 HP additional damage every 10 seconds spent pinning your victim with your tongue.
    4. Survivor Mop (Damage Dealer)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $900 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 1 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 160

    Description:
Dragging a survivor through acid will deal 10 HP additional damage.
<The survivor must be moved through the acid>

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • If you plan to coordinate your attacks with a spitter alongside you, this'll probably be it's only use. You'll want to be up close to the survivors if you at least plan to grab someone before dying.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
Dragging a survivor through acid deals +10 HP additional damage.
<The survivor must be moved through the acid>
    5. Gas overflow (Damage Dealer)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $3,465 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 10 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 201

    Description:
You deal 24 HP damage per second to nearby survivors but lost 10% health per second to a minimum of 1 HP.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • One of the best damage dealing buffs, despite you losing health overtime. This'll let you deal a decent amount of AOE damage to nearby survivors, potentially allowing you to incapacitate some low HP survivors, netting you some bounty in return for your death. Just make sure you decide to spawn near the survivors and not away from them, otherwise you may just die to the survivors quicker.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
Deal 24 HP/s damage to nearby survivors but lose 10 HP/s. Min. 1 HP.
    1. Corrosive Gas (Slower)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $6,750 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 30 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 201

    Description:
Each hit with your gas will add 10 stacks of corrosion to the enemy survivors.
    - 0.2 HP max health reduction per stack (Min: 20 HP)
    - 0.001 speed reduction per stack (Min: 0.95)
    - 0.0003 swing speed reduction per stack (No minimum)

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • This buff is quite useful to have equipped in close quarter areas if you plan on wanting to slow down the survivors as they progress throughout the map. If you want to get the best use out of the buff, make sure to die at a point in time where you'll affect the most survivors for the most amount of time.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
Each hit with your gas adds +10 stacks of corrosion to nearby survivors.
    - 0.2 HP max health reduction per stack (Min: 20 HP)
    - 0.001 speed reduction per stack (Min: 0.95)
    - 0.0003 swing speed reduction per stack (No minimum)
    2. Tongue Relationship (Slower) (Controller)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $3,150 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 20 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 150

    Description:
You receive 2% less damage for each second that you choke a survivor.
    <Max: 95%>

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • It's simple, keep on moving around and try to avoid getting hit. You'll have a better time surviving if you're smoking a survivor from the roof or far away from the other survivors, letting you gain more defense overtime.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
You receive 2% less damage every second spent choking a survivor.
    <Max: 95%>
    3. Choke Fatigue (Slower)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $3,150 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 30 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 150

    Description:
Survivors that you suffocate will gain one stack of fatigue per second. After they are released, they will be slowed down by 3% per stack.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • If you want to slow down the survivors, try to pin any of the survivors in the back while they are trying to quickly get through a particular area in a map. You'll have better results if you can pin any survivor with no knives or pin any survivor from a higher vantage point without being spotted.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
Survivors you suffocate gain 1 stack of fatigue/s. After they're released, they'll be slowed by 3% per stack.
    4. Aggressive Tongue Impact (Slower) (Controller)

    Buff Requirements:
    FR-Pills Cost: 100 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 201

    Description:
When you grab a survivor with your tongue, all other survivors around a small radius of your victim will be stunned for 2.5 seconds.
<Survivors can't be stunned within 10 seconds of another stun>

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • If you want to get the best use out of your tongue, be sure to grab a survivor when a few of them are near a death zone area, this'll let the other infected act quickly to kill the survivors or separate them. Otherwise you could also just slow down survivors by stunning them in a specific spot to help the other infected or to drag a survivor out of sight.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
When you grab a survivor with your tongue, nearby survivors of your victim are stunned for 2.5 seconds.
<Survivors can't be stunned within 10 seconds of another stun>
    1. Unhitable (Controller)

    Buff Requirements:
    Cash Cost: $8,550 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 30 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 201

    Description:
You receive 1 to 40% less damage from all sources based on your current speed.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • You'll need to pin a survivor to be able to move quickly around as a smoker. Best done when you're trying to slow down the other nearby survivors by annoying them or by being far away and moving with your smoker to avoid the incoming damage.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
You receive 1 - 40% less damage from all sources based on current speed.
