Versus Modification VOTE (PR)

    somehow i just want to post this whatsoever,
    the current config, already at its best config i think.
    most powerfull or effectively as infected (for High Level player):

    1. Tank
    Type:
    a. Tank (if controlled by High Level player)
    b. Paranoia (immune to melee?)

    Effectively:
    a. make a trap/block on some certain area
    b. the most powerfull damages, throw corrosive rock(if high level enough), punch punch & punch (especially punch the incapped survivor to their dead),
    c. triggering mutation shield (if u have this skill).

    weakness:
    a. fireworks, will stop his regeneration of health (except: paranoia)
    b. being melee by large of survivors groups.

    2. Spitter

    Effectively:
    a. make a fast bounty
    b. has pretty powerfull damage & can slow down the survivors with spit-goo (if u have the skill & can manage the right things)
    c. trap the survivor on certain area, slow down the rush-play(for survivor).
    e. triggering mutation shield (if u have this skill).

    weakness:
    a. no team-play support (such other SI, charger, jockey, etc), spitter are pretty weak, she is pretty fucked up(useless) if being chase & got caught by high-lvl-survivors.
    b. moustachio bless will prevent the spit-goo effect
    c. pretty low HP


    3. Charger
    Effectively:
    a. Making an instant-death on certain place(karma charger) -- vanilla skill
    b. grab & Pummeled the incapped survivor
    c. triggering mutation shield (if u have this skill).
    d. force player to use his/her knife

    weakness:
    a. melee(especially with max out melee-swing skill)

    4. Boomer
    Effectively:
    a. Bitch Slap in high places, very useful it will cause an instant-death(if u max out this skill)
    b. Blind the survivor with Vomit (90-99% blind to the survivor, if u max out this skill)
    c. triggering mutation shield (if u have this skill).

    weakness:
    a. very low hp

    5. Smoker
    Effectively:
    a. drag & move (if u max out this skill, your movement will faster)
    b. mostly his tongue is very-effective to force player to use his /her knife
    c. triggering mutation shield (if u have this skill).
    d. drag with tongue, little chance to instant-death survivor on certain areas -- this is require a knowledge of vanilla skill.

    weakness:
    a. no big-deal damages to the survivor

    6. Jockey
    Effectively:
    a. his 100% invisibility (if u have this skill).
    b. claw the survivor with invisibility, mostly used to triggering mutation shield (if u have this skill).
    c. Ride & jump, have chances to instant-death the survivor by bring them to fall from high places (if u can managed the right things)
    d. force player to use his/her knife

    weakness:
    a. no big-deal damages to the survivor

    7. Hunter
    Effectively:
    a. an alternatively used to triggering Mutation Shield to the survivors
    b. force player to use his/her knife
    c. pounce?? -- vanilla skill (can do 80damages/pounce at once, to the survivor if pounce from high places(if u can managed (but a high level player, hunter will move, jump or fly faster)))

    weakness:
    a. no big-deal damages to the survivor.

    before adding any major changes few things must be addressed.

    1. increasing bounty cost on explosive ammo (this includes packs as well) OR removing it completely
    like YOYO pointed out, its being abused currently
    2. increasing bounty cost of fireworks crates
    this item with its low cost, being spammed for two reasons. One, quick way to light up tanks on fire and two, you spam it on the floor to stop the infected from spawning.

    these two items are currently being spammed, and abused with their low bounty cost. Usually every match you will notice constant fireworks spam on the floor, covering every inch of the room/hallway/etc.

    aside from the problems above, I welcome any new changes but as many have pointed out before me fixing the current buffs is needed.

    Every change will bring some complaint.. whether its mutation rate, bile cost, fireworks spam, explosive ammo, etc. It seems like every time people become smart enough to find a way to beat the other team, people complain that its too hard and they change it. In the end, as Smokke used to say, MG is catering to the low-levels aka noobs aka high-level noobs (no offense).

    I think vs is fine as it is, just fix the bugs and add guild wars so you can give these guys a reason to continue playing... oh and maybe some custom maps. All of these are changes that were promised to MG many many months ago yet still, no delivery. If you don't do anything at least fix the bugs please.

    Thanks Who's Ya Daddy, you are the only one that have give me a straight forward answer. But this was way before they change the menu, now i see what ever girl menu. It was not there before.

    Just a reminder
    all high level played hard to gain those skills
    sometimes even paid the real money to the MG store to get higher level to gain those upgrades and skills
    and now you just changed them instead of come up with some new ideas and new upgrades
    just because those new comers could not stand the powers of high levels
    I dont think that is fair

    problem like getting mutation 5 times in one round!!
    so.......
    what is the problem
    do you know how long did it took me to get the mutation rate skill to the max
    this is MG server
    get used to it and fight like a man
    do you know how many time I got away from being mutated
    do you know how many mutated person I have saved even when there was more then 3 tanks
    there is always a way

    you wanna get more people to play and extend the lifetime of this server
    the solution is to be creative just like how MGFTW started
    and that was what makes MG server more fun then others

    getting lazy will make the server just like apple company without Steve

    I agree with TJ. We do not need any big changes, just fixing not-working bufs/skills would make VS even more atractive. What about some custom maps, that would be good idea, since The Parish, Dead Center and No Mercy been played far too many times and it's getting boored. Mutation...in my opinion rates are good, and for those who thinks the chance to mutate is too high, well that's why there is a mutation shield, defibs and good teamwork, right? Oh and as i said long time ago... what about changing those 4 medpacks in the start of the raund into 2 medpacks and 2 defibs? And one more thing i always wanted to ask. Why there is no knife as melee weapon in versus servers? It's pretty fun to kill common infected by using a small melee weapon instead of katana or big ass guitar.

    The Combat Knife if that's what you mean... it's something specific to other
    campaigns (add-on's,) like the Riot Shield, etc.

    I don't see why we couldn't do that. +1 from me, I like that idea.

    (Should be simple, just edit the missiont file and add the hunting_knife, would
    need the weapon scripts aswell the map mission txt file both separate one vpk
    for missions the other one for manifest and weapons)


    I remember when we did the Blood Tracks COOP server recently, there was a
    huge sledge hammer for a melee weapon. Pretty fun. Or even that dorky
    sword & shield from the Helms Deep server.

    I like the idea of fixing the bugs; but it's garbage-in, garbage-out. The more info
    we can provide, teh better and more easy it will be to fix.

    I recently reported:
    - If playing as tank, your "lose control" meter disappears if you're burning.
    - However, if you're extinguished, it doesn't come back, causing random
    loss of control (or you have to recover fully to pass it safely,) or else it
    becomes a bot tank.

    If you play as a smoker, then spawn as tank, you become "flying tank."

    Also wanted to mention/revisit the "glitched / dying" tank / "heal bug."
    -OceanDriver Alex wrote his own plugin that could fix this!


    The para needs to be made to be beatable; otherwise the "versus" match
    is no longer versus... (just my opinion.)

    Other stuff? Plz contribute and thanks for remembering to stay constructively
    critical and not negative.

    So far I like the changes and think it's a step AWAY from possible over-modding;
    the tank isn't a speed demon with rapid swing rate anymore... bullets DO hurt the
    tank, which they rightfully should.

    I agree with erik on that. The para NEEDS to be beatable or its no fun. Also the bug where you buy a tank and get a dead tank must be fixed.

    Explosive bullets should cost more as it makes the game too easy for the survivors and explosive ammo pack should be removed completely from the buy menu.

    Also sometimes when I encounter a witch and get in blind state. The blind state lasts throughout the map. I'm not sure if it happened to anyone else but it did a few times to me.

    I want either leave my opinion. The para-tanks are too strong in VS-mode. There should be at least a small chance that a good team can take down the para, right now the chances are ZERO. The Para should be killable with melee, this would add little hope to the surv team and more fun for all. I have the para-buff my self, and it wasnt expensive. So some changes on that wouldnt hurt anybody.

    I agree with leaving the muation-rate where it is. Firts of all, it is really a long and expensive way to max that skill. A nerf of mutation rate would be punch in the face to that people. But the most important thing is, it really adds more to the gameplay. Because there is alway the question, should i wait for teammate to take that jockey, charger, smoker from me, or should i use the knife to avoid the possible mutation. And mutation makes the rounds shorter. There are often those games, where the most of the team is dead, and the last 3 survs reviving and healing each others for eternity, where there is no chance to win anyway.

    Please leave everything be as it is, just fix the annoying indestructible para-tank.

    The saferoom doors can also be made like in co-op. So its locked till the team scramble. It completely eliminates the problem of people going out before the scramble.

    That I like, the COOP system works great at rushing. It should be implemented in VS too. In my opinion that should be the only modification to be made, next to the nerfing of paranoid tank. Don't nerf it too much though. It still has to be "stronger" then a normal tank.

    i think that paranoia could have full power like today but just 15000 hp like normal tanks + regeneration stop on fire and problem maybe is goon. So if u are lucky sometimes you will get lucky to heal or sometimes just killed from survivor even you are paranoia. :? maybe give one try...

    Explosive ammo pack to be removed?

    Is it a bug?
    We earn tons of exp & bounty from it. to defib people & keep the game goin on & on & on :P

    the witch bug is almost as similar as to the spitter or smoker bug. It has happened to me a lot of times.


    EDIT:: IF YOU REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO PLAY W/O EXPLOSIVE AMMO(OR OTHER PR SPECIFIC FEATURES), TRY PLAYING AT VICIOUS INFECTED SERVERS OR OTHER NON-PR SERVERS. I THINK KAKAROT HAS NEVER PLAYED ON THOSE SERVERS!!!!

    No explosive ammo is not a bug :)

    But it DOES spoil the gameplay for the infected team (Keeping in mind, I'm not always on the infected team). We do earn bounty every map. I do too, and I don't use explosive ammo yet. I'm just asking that it should cost a little more cause it is really very useful(I agree with you here)

    Imagine a guy going alone with two electrified knifes and explosive ammo. Doesn't seem fair to me for that cost. You can still earn the exp and bounty by helping teammates.

    Also I have played on few servers. Explosive ammo is not the only mod on PR. Its just one out of many. I love playing PR and nothing changes if explosive ammo stays or not cause I don't use it :)

    You sound like a noob here... not being able to kill a guy with 2 knives & explosive ammo & some bounty. People who agree with you are similar players who fail to kill people using explosive ammo. Well since you don't use explosive ammo doesn't mean that it should be removed or it must cost more. once again... we have VI servers if you really dont wanna play with some advanced mods. I bet you never have played on VI. This poll is closed now... so it doesn't matter.

    On a serious note though, i dont think it really imbalances game play all that much tbh, though i havent played properly in a while

    It's either lowsor pro's on MG VS. VS is not a server for low players. You should go on COOP first to get to know the way of playing. VS is hardcore and that is what we like at MG. If VS is nerfed too much I think I will not be there much anymore.

    What you can do is make VS more dynamic. But if that is not possible then nothing should change. With dynamic I mean the same thing as COOP. Lower players, less skills activated.
