Hardcore Custom COOP: Information and Downloads

  1. Before you read this post. make note of the fact that Hardcore Custom COOP barely gets played at all within 1 week of your normal mgftw gameplay. All that I can see is COOP filled up and emptying out each day with the occasional VS / HI once every week or so on.

    while we are on the subject of Custom COOP should there be an option (if we players so choose and the admins agree) to change out a custom campaign we didnt like for a new custom campaign?

    If said custom campaign does work with the server, then I don't see why not this option should happen :)

    Did you even read what I said, because I asked someone fix that maps not add and add after it will end up fixed. (facepalm)

    i know, i'm not sure if you knew it already, but marvel went away.

    And no other admins are able to fix these maps, it's only up to marvel.

    Hehe I'm still here, but yeah I've been busy. Relationship now and stuff so I have little free time. But as SViper already says, if I was gone there wouldn't be any servers lol don't worry they will remain online for a long time to come :)
  7. ATTENTION: All players doing the Urban Flight Finale on Custom COOP

    If you want to understand why there is no timer in that finale only. Read here in this screenshot or read below for what mute says. Thanks to atlas for chatting to us about this ingame.

    by the time I talked to atlas about it, he already replied the information needed to mute for the response a minute later as above.

    Alright so, I went ahead an added a timer to Urban Flight's second phase of the finale (the return to the hanger after the gascans), finally was able to gut the finale open and understand how it ticked, to some extent. The timer is only 3 minutes as sometimes a Tank will spawn naturally, and the finale appears to be set up such that the natural Tank spawn will trigger the escape vehicle to be ready, causing it to break with the timer. At the very least, people won't get bored and wondering if the map is broke.

    For the name hardcore coop i dont see how its different from normal coop though. I mean it used to be a lot harder until coop SIs got super upgrades (boomers need to go extinct) in addition to that SI in hardcore drops items which actually make it easier compared to normal coop.
  11. The differences that i know between regular COOP and Hardcore COOP
    - Hardcore COOP doesn't have the tank frenzy alerts unlike regular COOP so there is an increased chance of multiple tank spawns
    - More Common and Special Infected spawn more often
    - what you said about the item drops
    - the fact that server plays using custom campaigns (some custom maps are more challenging than others, most challenging ones are Left 4 Mario's third map, Dead Before Dawn DC's second map with the tank spawns, Diescraper Redux's final map IMO)
    - No quests to do in Hardcore COOP yet. remember when during the V1.5.2.0 update HonorCode mentioned this? "We'll soon add 10 new quests for regular coop and 15 for custom coop, hopefully, during this week." (these things definitely wont be happening for a very long while due to HonorCode working on something for the VS players for the end of this January)

    I don't really see Hardcore COOP needing any changes with these differences, nor do I really see it getting any attention during the next few months. my 2 cents here.

    Imo left 4 mario needs to be removed, cause if you have any ping you cant really do the map you will just fall and die in parkour

    Dont blame my ping for server location, its not like its not a good map its just that unless you have someone with good ping on the team you legit cannot do the parkour on some parts.

    So your opting for limiting a servers player base by ping because of map choices?

    I think it's probably time to add/remove campaigns, let me hear your suggestions. We have to be very selective because adding campaigns is a lot of work, not only do players have to download it but we also have to fix any campaign related issues like finales not finishing etc.

    Agreed. there's also a few things worth considering, in my opinion to add to what you have said. It'll be my two cents to add to this. Its about time that the other thing as an idea gets considered and if we guys would like to be getting a look at this idea (related to v1.5.2.0 of may last year). I'll talk more about it at a later date since we still have the Easter event to go on with ( been enjoying it so far :D )

    how likely it is to cause crashes on the custom COOP server given that your playing with addons on a custom campaign which has higher probabilities than on a normal server to cause crashes. Also the possibility of bugs occurring on the server which may require help from custom COOP helpers (the ones who can change maps and all the other stuff) and the admins themselves (when they can, given they have free time) to get past.

    Can't say that I have any suggestions to give you at this point in time. Some time is gonna be needed to think this through before coming up with "GOOD" Custom Campaigns (by that i mean ones that are the least likely to cause any problems (most importantly in terms of crashes, that I consider a very important thing), given that some unavoidable problems can still occur with any addon).

    I'm looking forward to seeing what the future of Custom COOP has in store for us players beyond the month of may.

    Yes with custom coop it's just adding maps, play and see what works and what doesn't and if there's a bug that can't be fixed without contacting the creator it probably means ditch the map again and try another. Basically trial/error until we have a good pack again of custom campaigns that we can rotate for the next 6-12 months.

    I was thinking of adding some fun maps, what about Indiana Jones:


    They're usually very bugged though so it might be hard :)
