What is your Internet Speed?

    I recently switched back to "ELISA" from my Satelite provider "HMA" (based in Norway).

    Most people here in Helsinki has over 100-200Mb/s cable lines (Yet they use 24/1 ADSL) but best areas can get up to 1 Gb/s fiber cables.. (they are expanding and getting more common all the time).

    As i moved back to Helsinki, im experiencing some problems with my download speed as you can see from picture bellow.. Tried calling my ISP about this and they said they solve it asap..

    So my results are at the moment:

    100 MBit is pretty much all you can get in Vienna. FTTH for more than 1% of households is still far away.

    And this is good compared to what I've had before; back in Cardiff, a fairly major city I was getting less than 1mbps on a 'fibreoptic to the house' connection, 10 times worse than here in a rural area.

    Still, promises have been made recently that we will have the fastest average internet in Europe by 2015; it won't happen but it's a nice gesture...

    ...for example:if u have like 68.45 Mbsc,then divide your download speed to 8 and see real speed=8.55<-----this is your real download speed !

    It's one thing to post our speeds, but what about our actual connections?

    I'm sitting on an old ADSL2+ line because they haven't installed anything in my area in a long time. Cable stopped just before my street and fiber optics have only just started being installed in the rich suburbs. By the end of 2013 we should have fiber optics running through my suburb.

    Although it'll still be fairly expensive, I might one day be able to achieve speeds like you guys have... 2017 perhaps.
