About the T-Shirts, are you able to have them printed, sold & distributed? , also can you have them on
other clothing as well as T-Shirts? If not then drop me a pm (or here) as I think I can.

 

I used http://www.customink.com/ and the price came out to $22.99. I put a tank on the front with the MG logo off to the side, and "L4D2" on the back.

 

Well thats cool, look good, I have an account with http://www.spreadshirt.co.uk/ for a while now but
never got round to doing any thing with it, but maybe you can. If you going ahead with this maybe
compare them. I don know what the price difference will be though.

would having the Tank on the logo not piss-off valve, i mean i would not be the first time they have jumped
on people for making money off them lol

 

Uh that was me that added and enhanced the blinks lol....funny how a really small detail can make a pretty big difference.

Looking good Lite except it seems you've slightly increased the height of the space in between the nav bar and the top of the page so theres a small 2mm gap at the top where the header doesnt fit properly, easily resolved by either reducing it again (no idea how u do that) or just stretching the header a tiny amount....would save me altering it and re-upping it again, uploading it yesterday was starting to do my head in :| cheers.

 

Regarding the clothing...do either of you have examples of what you've already done? Id like to see them. I dont think valve would be pissed off with using a tank image but the l4d logo might be a bit dodgy since its their brand. If you still want the MG logo on its own left4pie here it is


Theres just one small problem....since i only made the logo for web pages and such i made it with a pretty small resolution so thats as big as it gets without scaling it up and losing quality if you want it any bigger the only way around it is if i redesign it in a larger res to look as close as possible to the original :\

Id also like to throw in some designs at some point, i mean im a bit preoccupied with the store product images, the MOTD and the video at the moment lol but when i get round to it id definitely like to do some designs for hoodies/t-shirts if you guys wouldnt mind.

Ok, so I have tried a few out with the mg logo and first test look quite good.
The only real problem is that the image will not go on to coloured material so
a lot of the stuff will be white, but hay i like white and the other problem is
as you said, the logo does need to be increased in size for some things.

Also I found that im not just limited to clothing(male & female), we can now do
Coffee Mugs, Button badges, Santa Hats, Doggy Coats and other stuff.

Cheers for updating Lite is there any chance the product images can be made any bigger though? like maybe to the size i actually made them or just a bit smaller?.....i mean you can barely see them as they are now and i put a fair bit of detail into em which is currently pretty much wasted since they've been scaled down so much.

I did try to do it myself but it just automatically scales them down to the size that they are now :S

Left4pie what do you mean the logo wont go on coloured stuff? you mean it wont look as good on coloured stuff? I personally think it looks best on white/black/gray and a navy blue anyway. Also all those items are pretty damn cool but clothing wise dont ya think just sticking the logo in the corner is a bit....boring lol and yea its cool, you can use that logo on what ever you like mate.....i made it for MG so MG in general owns it

 

Well yeah I like it on the white my self but the material and print type they use dont allow for it to
be on some clothing if it a certain colour and or material for example the bags, base ball caps &
some other items, this may be down to the image its self and it colours, I will have to check this out.
If its not the image then im not sure what it could be & I dont know why.

Yes, they were test cases mostly and I agree it would be boring to just stick with it in just the corner
but I will have to work on making the image bigger before I can do that as it just looks lost with its
current size, so for that reason I placed it in the corner. So when the I sort out a bigger version
I will do more, if you wan to login and have a try designing some ya self drop me a pm and I will
pass login and stuff to you

 

One other thing I have the option to allow the MG tag (& any other we use) to be
used by others for a price, on their clothing/items seeing as we cant stop others from
using it, I thought it was the way to go, but now im not to sure , what you guys think
I should do this or not? if I do then MG will gain one pound ten per/use but im thinking
not too.

Heres an odd thing, at the end of that paragraph I tried to put that one pound ten as
numbers with a Uk pound sigh before it. Every time I tried it would then cut off at the
point of the pound sign :/

 

I dont think we should focus the clothing around the MG tag/logo anyway.....if anything it should just be a small addition to a bigger design and like i said mate you wont be able to enlarge that logo without losing quality, only way around it is if i redesign it to look as close to the original as possible.......if your serious about it and actually really need a larger logo ill do it for you when i get round to it.

 

Well I am serious about this but I dont really need the MG Logo anytime soon, I mean how many
tops can I do with just a large logo on anyway only 1-2 I bet and most of the other items like the
Mugs, Teddy Bear etc are perfect with the small one due there size.

Being able to do one some time in the future would be cool but there is no great rush for that
but thanks for offer anyway but what I need is some icons/pix to use with words, words I can
do in many fonts and sizes, so im going to have to look about for the other and try my hand at
making some not sure how that will turn out, never had much experience with arty stuff but im
going to give it a shot.

We could make one, but in all honesty, just an MG tag on the shirt wouldn't cut it for the price of buying one. It should be aimed almost completely at L4D--like a shirt with a full-size picture of dark woods and zombies running through them on the front and on the back a Left4Dead 2 logo. The MG title could be snuck in somewhere in there. I'm sure most of you will agree with me on that.

As for the MG tag, I don't think it should be branded really, but that's up to you guys anyways.

 

A printing company is not going to let me do that with out writen permissions from the owners (valve) of
the l4d logo and I dont see valve giving it. That may also be the case with the SI imagies too.

As it is spreadshirts now want me to provide written permission for the MG & MGftw logos, are the MG/MGftw
logos registered? I did not think they were. Untill they get that owners permission they have taken
down the designs and told me not to re-upload. They are concerned about receiving 'cease and desist'
order from valve. I dont know who I am ment to ask, you s the creator of the logo or marvel as the owner.

 

No the logo is not a registered trademark so you should be able to use it freely. I suppose since marvel owns MG technically he owns the logo but like i said, as of right now it isnt a brand or trademark so in actuality ANYONE could use it. As for the l4d logo/images yea i doubt u will get permission to use the l4d logo on something that your going to profit from but i dont see any reason why you couldnt use images of SI since their essentially just character models from a game.....their not branded or anything.

I agree with Lite though the clothing needs cool designs if their to sell well, we cant just slap the mg logo on with a picture of a tank or w/e....i cant see many of them selling at all..... when i get round to it ill design some stuff but in the mean time dont be afraid to be creative

 

The SI imagies are not just character models, thats the thing they are intellectual property
and as such are protected by valve & the l4d dev. team, it come under the same protection
status as things like books, music and art. They like to protect almost every thing in these
cases, but i will do some research into this.

As for some cool designs, well that makes all three of us in agreement on that. Some ppl
may just want a plane top with just the MG logo, but the younger ones will want some
thing more like a boomer etc.

 

I have now received the email back from SpreadShirts and the designs have been released back
to us and we now have the ability to go ahead with the MG Shop
