Yeah, nice to see another good PR-VS player become a regular. I agree on that one.

Perhaps tell Abstract to tinker with his Paged Pool Memory option. Changing mine minimized the recent crashes to desktop in frequency. If he's crashing every map like he said he was, obv that's something on his end. Lately, though, it's tolerable.

 

I wish it was that simple but his game never start. he can't launch l4d2. he tried to uninstall steam and he still have the same problem. I told him to post his problem here because I'm sure there some one will come up with some idea to fix it. But He wants to come back, so sooner or later he will fix that

 

How about looking up some "launch options?"

If I right-click on L4D2 in my Library on Steam, and choose "Set Launch Options," I can include stuff like:
-novid

That skips the introduction video.

You can add more useful or applicable Launch Options that have to do with stuff like other Advanced Video Settings, DirectX or something, and more... that is the best way to go...

He could even have a bad launch option that is there right now.

 

i recently fixed my left 4 dead 2 crashes, by deleting everything in the steam installation folder except for Steam.exe and SteamApps folder, then delete the cfg folder in left 4 dead2\left4dead2 folder, and verify the game cache, that do it, hope helps

also like erik said maybe he haves a bad launch command, -novid is a very good one to start fast also -autoconfig to set optimal video options

 

I had a problem with booting up the game when this laptop upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. I simply verified the game cache and it said some files needed to be re-downloaded. After that, it worked fine.

 

So how did you solve the problem of Windows 8 being on your computer?

haha now you are extending your crusade versus the people who use that buff to the forums too ? zomg Erik most of them don't even read the forum anyway. As for me I won't stop using it, I agree that it should be changed like we agreed (to a time limit of 3-4 seconds) mostly to avoid the jockeys abusing the buff to jump off highs with survivos (like you used to do remember?) So, lets wait for HonorCode to change it a bit and then everyone will be happy. Same as you now get pissed about ride control I get pissed all the time with the poison (one after another..) and not to mention the new BW after 6 incap that only promotes rushing and leaving ppl behind. But your complains should be about the buff itself not directed the people using it :S

 

lol it was a joke, don't get mad at me cuz you guys all go mardy when people use ride control (but most of you still use it yourselves)
