Day Z: Anybody interested to setup a group/clan?

That's the whole idea behind "Alpha", it needs testing and is far from done and it is stated almost everywhere on their website.

It is pretty common people hear from this mod and instant buy it without checking what they actually buy.

 

Yeah, about that...before i actually bought Arma 2 I did go to their website and "well whadd'ya know" No mention whatsoever of the ongoing issues. So..if that doesn't qualify as false advertising...

"Our game is magnificent extraordinaire...blah,blah" and "blegh blegh blegh!!!!"

so of course you buy the game, get the addon/mod and then it starts....bugs, glitches...you name it.

Want another example? I was playing for about 2 hours tonight... At one point I went for a smoke so I exited the server. Full blood, fed and watered, no issues whatsoever. I log back on, spawn and head towards a house (I was in Komenka). less than 30 seconds into the NEW game, my char falls over and the hourglass of stupidity appears. Along with it 3-5 zombies that start eating me...

So, to sum it all up, 2+ hours of game gone down the drain because the Ultra-coders from DayZ suck at making scripts that actually work. Checked their forum, guess there are at least 100+ players having the same issue....

So, please Jorisk tell me, or better show me where in the presentation of DayZ does it specify about any of the Issues existent ingame?

Again its an alpha version of a mod which is free. If you don't like it then remove it from your system.

 

Well the mod might be free but i spent $30 on a crappy game that was required to play that free mod...so technically i was conned by a false promise into buying a defective product and the author of that product should be responsible for the reimbursement not valve...in this case, the creators of DayZ

 

lol. so like i said before. if you have bought Left4Dead2 just to play our PR Mod, you would have requested your money back from us if you didn't like the game?

There is btw no false advertising, you just dont understand the game good enough, also when you see a game in ALPHA mode, you know its filled with bugs etc. even the forums topics start about bugs, so no bad advertising there.

 

Become an informed consumer. Research before you purchase. Like Collector said, check their forums and read all the problems they are having, it is part of the development process. The developer team could have 'hired' a group of testers and let them be the guinea pigs for testing the early build, but they opened the scope wider for the public to have fun with it..


Think of your play time as this:
At this stage you are not playing the game, you are helping to develop a future game/mod....

 

you can always play arma 2 so your 30 $ dont go to waste ;p

 

Perhaps you don't have all the requirements to play the game...

 

I kinda want to buy the game now since im most likely stuck at home for 1-2 months doing nothing now cause my car is not drivable. Sounds fun

Anyone still making a clan or a group of regulars meeting at certain times?

 

We need to use a TS3 server.. anyone got one set up or know a good one to join?

 

Skype is free and used by most gamers these days.

 

Kids? I'm 30 and started TS when I was a competitive Guild Wars player seven years ago, changed to vent for better quality, and now prefer skype for ease of use. Even the head guy of where I work and IT people use skype, but I'm rambling now.

I'm going to start playing DayZ consistently starting tonight, been busy with other things and have been playing more Dota2 lately.

 

I used to hate TS too back like 6 years ago, but they have improved so much I prefer it over Vent now.

 

Watch out guys, Smokke is a bandit!!! He shot pessego and me today and ran off with our stuff...
