Got a report but I don't know exactly what to do with it.Any idea?

Well, if we abide by the mod maker's rather stringent rules then we can't do anything (we can only ban for malicious talk or racism) without risking being blacklisted (it's unlikely we would be blacklisted for banning cheaters but you never know, since some server owners might abuse this excuse). Cheaters can only be banned by the mod devs from posts made on their forums with picture/video evidence.

It's a hardly a great system in my opinion and honestly, I'm suprised that so many people want to host servers (for the moment, anyway) when the devs don't seem to respect their judgement.

Personally though, I say if someone provides evidence of cheating, just ban them anyway. This report without evidence? Well, people always get rather annoyed when they get murdered (or counter-murdered) so as ever you can't necessarily trust them on their word. How much detail can we get from the logs to back up such claims?

Most likely scripters =/ Battleye anticheat sucks..

If they are scripters, there should be something in the logs regarding that player. And if there is anything, we should be able to ban that player and the post to the forums with picture of logs..

Arma2 became a hackers paradise once they released the FREE version of the game, before that it was only mature adults interested in military sims that played this game. Arma2's sales went up 500% when DayZ became popular which means kids from all areas of gaming joined the queue of little brats that hack adult games for shits and giggles.

If you can get the evidence, then these guys can be banned. Until then, this guy will have to move his camp and hope they don't come back.

Silly, admins who pay money to keep DayZ alive can't ban hackers. That would be a preposterous privilege to give to their supporters! /sarcasm

thats not true. We can ban anyone we want and we don't have to have strong evidence.
Do you really think dayz has time to review all bans from all servers?

  7. Id like to ask a magical question: killing noobs is against the rules? Noobs by fresh spawn?

I don't believe we've met, I am Ernest and your ass ain't talking your way out of this shit.

  9. Can definitely confirm that hacking's going on on NL20. Had a LOAD of stuff today, but unfortunately I suddenly got teleported to what seemed to be one of the airfields and instantly got killed.

Yeah, a new paid hack was recently released by certain major group, and it has script support now.

Nothing we can do without names, as those hacks wont show up in logs. Pretty much ever server has this problem, as hacking is very common in this game. =/

  11. Alright, glad you're aware of this and trying to do your best to prevent it.
If you're still looking for names, the log should show me getting killed by the hacker(s), right? It happened around 19:50-19:55 GMT+2 today, my ingame name is Hademar.

Luckily I atleast found a new Coyote Backpack and an AKM shortly after respawning, so I'll probably be off to a good start again. :)

I agree, their servers are better moderated than most I play on. plus haven't seen many hackers in comparison to other servers I was playing on recently which is always good :)

i might enable name scanning again so people can see the names of players.

This will make it easyer for us and Dayz staff when you know who has been cheating etc.

Downside thing is that you can sometimes aim around you and suddenly see a playername somewhere. true this doesn't always work, as it could have been some old delay of a player who has been there and now moved away.

    What you guys think?

I dont think that we should use name scanning, as it really spoils the fun..

There should be a distance limit for nametag visiblity
