    Therms:
    • RDM: Random kill. Killing a player without proof of him/her being infected.
    • KOS: Kill on sight. A player has been accused.
    • PEOPLE: When referred to people, we are referring to all the roles available in the game (survivor, detective and infected role).
    Hidden Infected Gameplay Rules

These rules are enforced by the mod community to maintain a healthy and anger-free game environment. Please, respect these basic rules while playing the game but don't let them take the fun out!

    General rules:
    • You can't change your name while the round is in progress. Breaking this rule by changing your name with the identity of an infected is considered a major offense and has a higher ban length.
    Survivor rules:
    • You can't randomly shoot PEOPLE or shoot without proof.
    • You can't accuse PEOPLE of being infected without proof.
    • You can't blow up gas cans, propane tanks and/or oxygen tanks to cause harm to PEOPLE without a justified reason.
    • You can't accuse yourself of being infected to clear yourself from suspicion.
    • You can't own areas of a map ("I will shoot anyone who enters here").
    Detective rules:
    • All survivor rules apply to the detective role.
    • You can't tase PEOPLE without a justified reason. Valid reasons:
      • A player follows you for more than 30 seconds, despite warnings of leaving you alone.
      • A player is infected.
      • A player is coming towards you and has a high probablity of being infected
      • A player is shooting another player
Note: This rule is considered subjective. It is up to the administrator present to evaluate a possible punishment or not. If no admin is present, the victim should fill in a ban submission or start a voteban against the attacker if it is recurrent behavior during a short time span.

    Infected rules:
    • You can't accuse PEOPLE of being infected if you are infected.
    • You can't randomly shoot OTHER INFECTED if you are infected.
    • You can't own areas of a map ("I will shoot anyone who enters here").
    • You can't be inside areas of a map that are not accessible by survivors and detectives in human form. If by accident (while pouncing) you get out of the map bounds, please return immediately.

    Hidden Infected Offenses

Third party software: Using third party software to gain advantage in the mod such as aimbots, wallhacks, skype, team speak, etc.
    Penalty: Permanent ban

Hate speech: Any forms of racism or discrimination towards a person, group of people or a culture regarding their religion, sexual preference, gender identity, gender, disability, location or native language is considered a major offense. This includes the game chat, microphone and sprays.

Penalty: 3-6 Months ban > Permanent ban

Lying to staff (regarding an offense): We have enough resources (chat logs, damage logs, event logs, round information) to tell when you are lying. If you protest a ban, lying about what happened, you will probably end up extending your current ban length.
Penalty: 1-6 months ban > Permanent ban.

Admin impersonation: Using the name of an administrator and/or stating that you are an administrator is considered a major offense.
Penalty: 1-6 months ban > Permanent ban.

Misleading new players: Incorrectly informing new players of the mod gameplay or a certain rule is considered a major offense ("type !vest to get cool stuff", "hey dude, press shift twice, let's see"). This includes the game chat, microphone and sprays.
Penalty: 2-3 weeks ban > 1-6 months ban > Permanent Ban

Verbal Abuse: Insulting other players regarding any personal attribute or simple plain insults through chat or microphone INSIDE THE SERVERS with the purpose cause psychological or emotional harm to them will result in a punishment. This includes the game chat, microphone and sprays. (This is valid if an administrator perceives malicious messages to a player or if a player complains and reports).
Penalty: 1-3 weeks ban > 1-6 Months ban > Permanent ban

Voteban abuse: Using this tool on players without a valid reason is considered a big offense. The use of the voteban tool is there for extreme cases and where there is no possible way to get an administrator to deal with the problem. There are only two situations where voteban is allowed:
    • A new player shows no sign of communication with others or no will to learn about the mod, and has broken the rules for 3 (not necessarily consecutive) rounds during 1 or 2 consecutive maps.
    • An acknowledged old player purposely breaks the rules and does not stop despite of warnings from all players during at least 4 rounds (Not necessarily consecutive) during 1 or 2 consecutive maps.
if the conditions have not met, but you feel like the player must be punished, please submit a ban report indicating the date and time that the incident occurred, alongside with screenshots and hopefully a demo. Remember that this tool is only for extreme cases.
Penalty: 4-6 days ban > 1-3 weeks ban > 1-6 Months ban > Permanent ban

Mic/chat/vocalization spam: Spamming vocalizations, in your microphone and/or the game chat is annoying and degrades the gaming experience of everyone.
    Penalty: Warning > 1-23 hours ban > 1-6 days ban > 1-3 Weeks ban > 1-6 Months ban > Permanent ban

Advertising: Advertising other servers or products is not allowed here. Posting your twitch or youtube channels ONCE EACH COUPLE OF DAYS is fine with us.
    Penalty: Warning > 1-23 hours ban > 1-6 days ban > 1-3 Weeks ban > 1-6 Months ban > Permanent ban

Breaking gameplay rules: Breaking the rules stated on "Hidden Infected Gameplay Rules".
    Penalty: Warning > 1-23 hours ban > 1-6 days ban > 1-3 Weeks ban > 1-6 Months ban > Permanent ban

Harassment: Following a player during an entire round with the sole purpose to troll or reveal its location is considered a minor offense, but that could degrade the victim's experience on our servers.
    Penalty: Warning > 1-23 hours ban > 1-6 days ban > 1-3 Weeks ban

Inappropriate name: Nicknames like ;; .. || -- are not allowed. We like to know who we're playing with so try to be more original when it comes to picking a decent nick.
Penalty: Warning > 1-23 hours ban > 1-6 days ban

Foreign languages: Speaking excessively in another language is not allowed. The official language on the server is english. Talking in another language to explain how the mod works is allowed.
Penalty: Warning > 1-23 hours ban

    When are penalties applied?

A punishment is made if the present administrator evaluates that an offense has been made by a player, or if a ban submission shows an offense that had taken place.

How are the ban lengths calculated?

The length of a penalty depends on the severity of the incident, the total amount of accumulated bans, how long has the player been part of the community, the time difference between bans, the severity of previous bans, the amount of complains regarding a player and the overall attitude of a player in-game. All these factors are taken into account when a new offense is made by a player.

The ban lengths shown here are not necessarily incremental, meaning that on a first offense a player may immediately jump to a week ban before passing for a 1 day ban penalty. However, after getting banned, you can tell how bad your behavior is by how long we have banned you.

Where can I see the current bans?

Visit our sourcebans page to view the entire ban list.

What do I need to submit a ban?

All you need is the steam id of the offender and the date and time of the offense. If you want to make sure the submission passes, screenshots and demos are always helpful. Follow this link to submit a ban.

My ban was unfair. What do I do?

All bans can be protested and evaluated by us to see if you deserve a second chance in permanent bans, or if we were perhaps too hard on you on an offense. Follow this link to protest a ban.
