    I've had many ideas in the past but i never came round to telling anyone them, or posting a topic, so here it is. If you have any criticism or just a big NO to them, say. :s)

    2. Level restricted VS - Over the past couple days/weeks i have seen lots of people complaining, especially because of low levels. The low levels who get the spitters and high levels complain, because then they end up losing because the spitter goo is like water and they just sail straight through it. Also tanks are consumed by low levels, as they die in about a minute of spawning and they do hardly any damage to the survivors, and with the tank 'glitch', not really a glitch, but the same person gets the tank again, and that can be frustratig when say a level 2 gets the tank 3 times in a row...

    3. Become the tank when you buy the tank - When you buy a tank you hope you get it or a high level gets it, and when the low level person gets it you are annoyed when you spent 45/60 bounty on buying the tank for it to just be wasted. Solving the problem, when you buy a tank, you become it! Also you will not be able to buy another tank if you are the tank

    4. Reserved slots for donors - Everyone hates waiting a long period of time (30+ minutes) to get into a game.... and then you randomly disconnect, or just the WAIT is frustrating. Maybe in COOP you could make it more than 16 players, 20 players, with 4 reserved slots for donors, but of course you could say, there are too many donors! Well you could make another donor rank, super donor for more money and get more special benefits, which could help upkeep money of servers. 8)

    5. A tutorial system - This might be hard to implement, but when a level 1 joins they probably have no idea how to use the PR system. Therefore, could be chatbox or the notice, whenever they join the server they get a popup box (like in !cp) about a tutorial and they can type !tutorial in the chatbox to reopen it.. and it goes through all the basics.. all the commands... but you might say... Oh theres a tutorial on the forums, and the wiki! New players will not know this, and they will not bother to look on the forums or the wiki because they want to play... so they could learn the basics

    6. Locked door until X amount of seconds - I have joined a test server with Collector and seen the locked door you can't go out until 60 seconds.. this stops rushers running out and then team raging, kicking, and then losing... and then unbalanced teams happen, which then a scramble happens which results with more raging. However the infected couldn't leave until the door was unlocked... so maybe this might give an advantage to the survivors and stop spitters spitting at the start? Not sure why it was removed in the past... like Collector said.. but it seems like a good idea.

    These are my ideas, i have some more but i can't remember them, if you have anything to criticise, do so.

    I am not a 'low level hater' if you might think so, I am just expressing my ideas, because i see a lot of people rage and criticise the mechanics of this game.

    I agree on all these ideas except reserved donor slots and level restricted versus. Everyone has the right to play, no matter their skill or level. And new players is what makes MG more and more popular, without them MG would have gotten nowhere. So a level restricted versus would only do bad for the community.
    And about the donor slots, well I don't think anyone should get a "higher chance" to get a spot in-game. Not even admins themselves have that privilege. You just need to have patience and you'll get a spot eventually.

    concerning tutorial system.There are already special hints like:type !cp to access your control panel or type !faq etc

    Most of the suggestions/issues will be resolved soon when the guild wars come out then there wont be any problem with (For guild members):
    Level restrictions
    Buying a tank and hoping a high level gets it
    Queuing for a slot
    And locked door

    The problem with the locked door feature is that, it also stops SI from going out so they don't get a proper chance to set them self up (It was tried on the US servers sometime ago).. Level restriction idea has been mentioned a few times in the past and the roots decided to not have any level restrictions on the servers (apart from the extreme coop servers).. Regarding tutorial, there r tips popping up on the screen, there is also a wiki, there is a help section in the CP and not sure if !faq system has been implemented but thats also an option which guides players.

    We had a level restricted VS server a while ago, but it was always empty.

    I'd like to see the locked door again , but it dont have to block the inf , it gives a BIG advantage to surv.

    regrading helms deep, the map is over played simply put.

    we need new type of survival map every weekend like helms deep. And each weekend we can rotate to different type of map. It will make things interesting, and fun. just post head of time which map we will be playing so everyone can download it before the server goes live.

    since this idea is used only once a week, we either all vote on which map we like to play or have roots pick one for us. it personally doesn't matter to me, I'm just looking forward playing new map.

    we all should look through http://www.l4dmaps.com/ to maybe find new type of survival map like helms deep.
     
  11. I have an idea to build upon the level restricted versus. Instead of restricting people from joining the server, which is only hurting the community, we could somehow give priority to higher levels for spitters and tanks. Spitters could possibly be locked for players under level 100, and tanks could automatically go the highest level on the team.

    is a bad idea, all can play with whatever they want,

    Long time i dont see ppl asking for pass spitter (only 1 or 2...) , about tanks , i'd like that the system choice a player at least lvl 90 or 80 , it pisses off ppl when they buy a tank and a lvl under 50 gets it. Or well if they dont want that , put random players for every tank , because if theres no scramble and anyone left , the same 3 will get the tank untill theres a scramble.

    The extreme coop server should have a level restriction or at least a warning system for low level players that suggests they join one of the easier servers.

    if 16 ppl play as a team its possible to escort even a lvl 1 to the saferoom, you only need to tune teamwork up to extreme ;)

    Regarding tank buying/getting tank if you buy.

    I noticed few things.

    When you are playing you usually have 3 teammates health bars on your screen.
    When you buy a tank it usually goes to first person from left who is either about to respawn (countdown) or in ghost mode.
    If say the person on the left is actively a charger then the next person from the left who is ghost or countdown will get it. If all 3 people are active and not ghosts or dead/countdown then you get it. You have to be in ghost mode tho

    So if you want to be the tank you buy you have to wait for these 3 players to be active in game as infected.

    Same goes if the 3rd from left is max level but other 2 are noobs, dont buy tank unless the noobs are currently infected.

    I could be wrong but this is what I have noticed.

    This is also why same noobs get tank. I am sure there are exceptions too for instance if you are already tank and buying another one.
    Or if everyone is active someone will get it not just whomever is ghost. But take a look next time you buy tank. It usually works

    You mean, spawning a tank when you're a survivor? Totally possible. Admins do it all the time.

    Or do you mean spawning a tank when survivor and the survivor becoming the tank? Not plausible or feasible at all, sorry :)

    The code that you highlighted just says, "Oh hey, that player over there is in the infected team right? If so, give the player an index (or a number) starting from 0 and incrementing by 1 until you get to maxplayers." Or something like that :P
