Error adding friend on steam : a quick fix

I fixed a small friend invite problem with steam.
maybe someone has the same problems, i'll explain how to correct this.

You can invite a friend, and remove the friend invite before the other accepted it.
Later when you want to add the same friend again,
a red error msg pops up "Error adding friend. Please try again"

Now go to Manage Friends => Recently Played With, and select the friend
you want to add again and click "block selected".
Click on Blocked Users tab and remove the same friend,
after this add this person again as friend.
Now that person should be back in the "INVITATIONS SENT" list.

 

On a related note, I have a question.

Say, you invite someone to be on your friends list. At the bottom of the steam friends list window, it says Invitations Sent. Sometimes, if they don't accept, their screen name just lingers there. Other times, it's gone.

Do names consistently disappear if they "ignore" or decline your invite? Or, does a screen name sitting there in Invitations Sent (even if they've been online a lot since you invited them,) simply mean they haven't accepted yet?

 

You will have them on your friends list as long as they ignore you.
When they decide to delete you, you won't see them in your list anymore.

They sort of auto-delete from your list when they delete/block you.

 

No, I mean... Do they stay in your "invitations sent" queue even if they "ignore" the request?

Or, does clicking "ignore" remove it from your queue?

 

Oh got that wrong, no, they won't stay in your queue if they 'ignore' you. That removes it from your queue.

 

lol that means that, someone who I sent an invite to 2 months ago, who games almost daily, is sitting there w/ a silly mg erik notification at the top of their friends list.
