Traveller Token Market (TTIG V2.0.2)
Back to Main Guide Page
This page here lists all of the things that you can currently get from the Traveller Token Market.
The list is:
-
1. Vending Machine (10 Tokens)
Description:
The vending machine will periodically spawn a random toaster for the users to pick up. Each toaster drop has a 20% chance to become a multi toaster.
Cost: 10 Traveller Tokens
Worth Buying?:
Value: 8/10
Since the Vending Machine can only be brought from the MG store and from events, this is a decent purchase. Can't go wrong purchasing one if you want to bring some fun to the mgftw servers.
If you want to celebrate something in mgftw, using up vending machines can be a good way to celebrate the moment. Say if you only need a few, then you may only need to grind up to 50 Traveller Tokens once. If you do want to use many more vending machines however, then you will need to do a lot of grinding and spend more Traveller Tokens as needed.
Normal Vending Machines themselves are seen to be just as fun to watch as premium vending machines from where ever they drop toasters. Even though Normal Vending Machines don't drop as many toasters as premium ones do, they can still be quite helpful for the small amount of experience, cash and FR-Pills that the survivors gain. If you wanna spend some Traveller Tokens to have Vending Machines on hand for something, its worth doing. -
2. Mutation Shield (1 Week) (7 Tokens)
Description:
A dose of antibodies that will shield you from mutations.
Cost: 7 Traveller Tokens
Worth Buying?:
Value: 10/10
A very good save. For 7 Traveller Tokens, compared to a few dollars on the MG store for the same item, you might find buying the Mutation Shield from the Traveller Token Market a better choice.
If you want to use the |Q| Mutation Shield Buff for more than a week, go ahead and grind on getting your Traveller Tokens so that you can buy as many as you need. The cheap Traveller Token Cost makes buying them from the Traveller Token Market better for value rather than buying Mutation Shields from the MG store every week/month.
If you really don't want to become mutated on the mgftw servers, this buff can help you to survive better against any infected that can mutate the survivors often.|E| Reactive Inoculation Buff however, is a better buff to use as it can potentially block most statuses and reduce their duration slightly, which includes the Mutation status too. |E| Reactive Inoculation Buff can't be used on VS, therefore |Q| Mutation Shield Buff has a better case being used there for blocking Mutations from the player infected. -
3. Traveller Value Pack (1 Token) (1 Coupon) (5/5)
Description:
Gives 2 Volatile Tank Blood, 1 Honor Coupon, 1 Cupid Token, 1 Small Jar of Pills and one random Torn Ticket.
<Max count: 10>
Cost:
- Tokens: 1 Traveller Token
- Coupons: 1 Traveller Coupon
- Weekly Purchases remaining: 5
Worth Buying?:
Value: 10/10
Well worth the very cheap cost it is. Just simply put it ranks #2, in terms of the best items to buy from the Traveller Token Market by value, only because it requires 1 Traveller Coupon. The only restriction you need to remember is that you can only buy it 5 times per week. Get it while you can!
Volatile Tank Blood is already easily obtained from tanks through normal gameplay, especially on the Scenario server. The same cannot be said for Honor Coupons or Cupid Tokens as both Versus and the Heartbroken Scenario are the least things hosted respectively. Hosting Heartbroken Scenario doesn't usually come by easy because getting Torn Love Tickets to drop requires a tier 3 tank be killed with many survivors alive at the time.
Being able to get more valuable items that aren't commonly found via tank drops or from the black market is really good for most players. Buying this item will provide significant help to those players who are in short supply of VTB or who want to grind towards the next Versus/Event buff with enough Honor Points/Cupid Tokens respectively. Being able to get a random torn ticket is a big deal as well, as it can make scenario hosting for everyone far easier to do without having to try grind killing tanks with enough damage dealt. -
4. Tank Beacon (Tier 2) (15 Tokens)
Description:
Upon use, immediately spawns a random Tier 2 Tank.
<Can only be used on COOP servers>
<Increases Tank Beacon stacks for this map by 2>
<Cannot spawn more tanks than human players>
<Cannot use if Tank Beacon stacks exceed 10>
Cost: 15 Traveller Tokens
Worth Buying?:
Value: 6/10
You can only gain 2 Tier 2 Tank Beacons through winning either the prison or helms deep fortress per week. The price isn't fairly cheap but it can provide good value depending on the tank spawned. If you don't need to spawn tanks however, definitely don't go buying this.
If you do plan to save up Tier 2 Tank Beacons for anything in particular that you need (e.g. Quest, |<| Rare Crafting Materials, Celebrations/Events), make sure you do it right. Depending on how many you need, you may need to do a fair amount of token grinding on the Custom COOP server to get enough for your fun.
If you want to use a Tier 2 Tank Beacon on any of the COOP servers, use common sense and ask the other players first. While the value you can get from using them is good, the danger of using one is that in the wrong map or in the wrong area, it can result in the survivors wiping to the tank spawned if they are not careful. As long as you can account for these circumstances, this isn't a bad buy. -
5. Tank Beacon (Tier 3) (20 Tokens)
Description:
Upon use, immediately spawns a random Tier 3 Tank.
<Can only be used on COOP servers>
<Increases Tank Beacon stacks for this map by 3>
<Cannot spawn more tanks than human players>
<Cannot use if Tank Beacon stacks exceed 10>
Cost: 20 Traveller Tokens
Worth Buying?:
Value: 6/10
You can only gain 1 Tier 3 Tank Beacon through owning the Prison or Helms Deep Fortress for the week. Not cheap at all, but can provide better value than the Tier 2 Tanks because of the tank kill rewards gained. If you don't need to go spawning high tier tanks, spend your tokens elsewhere.
Since Tier 3 Tank Beacons have a higher cost than Tier 2 Tank Beacons, more grinding will be needed. Even with the amount of grinding needed, you won't need to grind much in the first place since mainly tier 3 tank spawns are more used for fun and/or celebrations/events more than anything else.
Like with the Tier 2 Tank Beacon, you should use common sense and ask the other players if they would really like to see a Tier 3 Tank being spawned. Make sure you know your map and area before spawning one as it can make the difference between killing the tank and wiping to it. The Risk VS Reward factor is quite high and thus if used properly, Tier 3 Tank Beacons can be good fun. -
6. Traveller Box (5 Tokens)
Description:
A box containing one of the following items: Infected Lure, Mimic Ticket, Master Crafter, Charismatic Speech, Itemfinder, Tank Beacon (Tier 1), FR-Pill Discount Voucher, Craftable Bag, Area Mutator or Tank Bait.
Cost: 5 Traveller Tokens
Worth Buying?:
Value: 10/10
Get it. It ranks #1 as the best item to buy from the Traveller Token Market, period. In terms of the number of valuable items that you can get, it really makes a Traveller Box worth buying. It's also one of the easiest ways to gain Traveller Coupons in case you need to grind for Traveller Value Packs or Precious Boxes.
Wanna grind for Traveller Boxes? Do it! If you do need a specific item for your fun needs, say an Itemfinder, Tank Beacon (Tier 1), Area Mutator or Tank Baits, then there is the RNG involved in getting them. If you can put up with the grinding for the amount of items you need for your own event, the pay off for getting Traveller Boxes will be worth it in the end.
Probably the best thing worth buying from the Traveller Token Market. Many of the items that you can get from the Traveller Box, do serve a purpose. Things like the Mimic Ticket and Master Crafter can come in handy when you need them the most for your scenario/crafting needs. If you don't wanna get anything else, then make sure to get the Traveller Box before you reach the max amount of traveller tokens that you can acquire! -
7. Precious Box (10 Tokens) (3 Coupons)
Description:
A box containing one of the following items: Mechanical Parts, Tempered Rock, Broken Flesh Prison Bar, Sealed Dark Toxic Gas, Razorblade katana or Expired Flesh Eating Parasite
Cost:
- Tokens: 10 Traveller Tokens
- Coupons: 3 Traveller Coupons (You earn 1 Coupon for every 5 traveller tokens spent on other items)
Worth Buying?:
Value: 8/10
While you do need to acquire 3 Traveller Coupons at first, the Traveller Token cost isn't that bad overall. Precious Boxes can be found sometimes on the Black Market but are very rarely found on COOP maps (1% chance). Your best choice is buying a Precious Box from the Traveller Token Market to get the best value out of using it.
In general, without having a good amount of Traveller Coupons, you can't exactly grind for Precious Boxes. While not that cheap, there is also the RNG involved in getting specific |<| Rare Crafting Materials that you need for your crafts. You can however also purchase these Precious Boxes if you are really in need of cash for |<| Rare Crafting Materials to sell off for cash to the Black Market.
Outside of the Traveller Value Pack, the Precious Box is the only item on the Traveller Token Market that needs Traveller Coupons. Since you may need to grind for |<| Rare Crafting Materials when trying to craft buff enhancements, buying Precious Boxes isn't going to be easy in the first place. This might be a good thing as it encourages you to spend Traveller Tokens on other things you do need more. -
8. Exp/Cash Booster (x2, 1 Day) (25 Tokens)
Description:
When activated, increases the exp and cash earned from awards.
Cost: 25 Traveller Tokens
Worth Buying?:
Value: 2/10
The Exp/Cash Booster (x2, 1 Day) has the most expensive cost of them all for 25 Traveller Tokens. Buying a x2 Exp/Cash Booster from the MG store for 1 month is better overall in terms of the value and time you're getting for using it instead.
Unless you really want the exp to level up faster, the expensive Traveller Token cost alone and the effects given for 1 day does not make it worth grinding for.
While not a useless thing to buy on the Traveller Token market, it's mainly there for those players that can afford to play for long periods of time on the mgftw servers. Best to consider investing your Traveller Tokens into other items instead.
