What is that strange circle that appears randomly all over the maps?

If no one knows what I am talking about I will try to capture a screenshot...

Randomly there is a circle that appears and grows from a small point . o 0 O then disappears. I see it often near the saferoom door before the match starts, but it appears randomly else where also. Others have seen it at the same time I do.

    What the heck is it?

might have been a beacon or a timebomb on a player etc? did you see the circle around a players feet or just some where random with no player near it?

If you mean the red locus ring that oscillates, at times, no, you're not going mad -- I have seen it as well. I presume it is a sort of Red Alert, because it only happens when the whole team is being attacked. Since I do not know for sure, I am just guessing; but it seems logical.

I see it often when we are all in the saferoom when the match has not started yet.

Doesn't that happen when someone leaves a trap for infected?

It's not a beacon or a time bomb because that circle doesn't happen to any player, it just happens randomly at any place, even if there is no survivor standing there. I have seen it too but it's nothing much, just a beacon type of a circle at one place...

    Thats either:

    -A bomb placed by a player (It's a buff)
-An admin warning you about something (Probably explosions or crazy stuff that uses to happen with admins around in coop o.O).

when he says this i dont believe it a trap then as none has been out saferoom yet. and admins can only do white beacons on players. not red circles

That's the grenade trap buff... when you have a throwable, you can put it on the floor, then you see the red ring beacon that shows you where it is. If you look carefully, it's usually a molotov, and you can see the bottle on the floor, but can't pick it up.

thats not what you see on his screenshot Nova :) as its floating in the air. and you cant set a trap at start of the campaign as the throwable isn't allowed while in saferoom and not started yet. so its something else

We need Mel Gibson, who has experience in deciphering such unexplainable rings, here -- STAT!
If he is not pissed someplace, that is. :amen:

Thats a beacon...an admin did that, it doesnt do anything other than create a pulsating ring around the player its activated upon until its either turned off or the round ends...in one of the screenshots its probably floating because the player just jumped.

It happened near 2 different players while I was looking. I don't think either of them are Admins. The player's names are abover thier character. Mr Berry, and YoYo Monster. they were walking around, jumping around, but nothing unusual. There weren't any grenade traps left, but maybe it is the grenade trap becon gone haywire... ?

    Red circles = Molo trap
    White circles = Pipebomb trap
    Green circle = Vomit trap

You can put a trap in the saferoom, next to the door or out of the saferoom (even if you are in)
