Thanks / Like system for the forums

Underneath every post is a Thanks/Like button. It's really easy to use, so make good use of it Letting users know that you like something or thank them for something is a surefire way to motivate them to make more stuff.

 

This is probably the best way to implement this kind of system, and it's encouraging even for myself who's already like 250 posts into the forums thus far. Will keep on contributing to catch up .

If it's annoying to see a separate box for the thanks/like buttons, I can always move them underneath the Karma/Report buttons too.

 

ya you should do that its annoying to see a seperate box underneath all the posts.

 

Agreed, it does seem like excess weight to the posts, so adding them in the center of the post-footer would be better

 

Why not move it in between Report and Edit button instead of putting it underneath Karma because that would take more space from the page.

edit: just notice the people clicking like/dislike/ thank option... not helpful.. read my post below..

 

i just notice that when someone like/ dislike your post, they will display the member's name.

i prefer it to be hidden rather than reveal that this user likes or dislikes your post.. it can't create possible social problem in the forum..

also once the users click like or dislike, their names are reveal below your post.. so if many users start to like or dislike your post.. wouldn't it takes alot of space like if 20 people click it, there will be 20 names down the line..

lol, seriously, legend just spam the like/ dislike options.. thats one pointer to look at..

should make it a counter like in youtube how many likes or dislikes your post.. thats better than revealing the members name.

There needs to be an undo option. I just 'thanked' a random post because I normally scroll through these forums on my iPad and that's where my finger landed to scroll the page down.

 

Major updates. Well, the hook location has been changed, so the buttons squeeze in with the karma button with great difficulty. Changed the Dislike to Agree, but I'm too lazy to change the image icon for Agree...

 

what happen to my dislike?... lol
