Team switching... WTF?

WTF? I dont understand why is there on servers is ability to change team if there will always appear fucking stupid kid who'll votekick you for team switching? Is this bad that i dont want to play for one team, but for other and othevise? This sucks! For real :|

 

Team switching isn't always a bad thing, although most of the times it is abusive...
If you think the votekick was unfair, you should report the player for abusing the votekick option.

Why did you switch team by the way?

Ussually i like to play as infected so when game ended and i with team became survivor changed team to infected and then one ass hole votekicked me :|

 

That's normal then. You gotta play the game as it's meant to be played, taking turns with your team to kill or survive. If you kept switching to infected, people see it as an unsporty behavior, because you're not playing the game the way it should be played.

Be fair and play like everyone else is, and you won't get votekicked for staying on the infected team every round.

 

That was actually me. You are on one team, stay there. if you get scrambled and switch to the better team, most of the times, at least on USA PR VS server you get vote kicked. You switch teams because your team is losing, you are most likely to get vote kicked off the team you switched to.... Nothing personal mate, but we like to play fair. I was on losing teams more than a few times and I stayed there till someone called for a scramble....or the console forced one...

 

I am all for teamswitching and all against teamscramble, however none of this jumping to the infected everytime. If your team is losing feel free to jump teams but keep in mind that you are jumping because you probably suck. One team jump is acceptable, you see the guys you want to play with and you jump to that team. Anything beyond that is abuse. So you suck and the other team knows it so when you jump and arrive on the other team they don't want you so they votekick you.

My point is: Find out which team you want to be on and stick with them win or lose. Anything beyond 1 teamswap in a single campaign is abuse.

You jump teams because you suck and you weaken the better team because you suck, you then leave an open slot on the losing team for an excellent player and then they start winning. Don't just jump back, you are a backstabbing scumbag traitor and they don't want you back after you already screwed them once. Do you get it? Find out which team you want to be on and get there and stay there until you are done!!! This issue really ticks me off! This feature is not here so you can always play as infected and if I see you doing it you will get a short ban to start with.

My team wasn't loosing. I was infected before, after we killed all survivors we became the survivors so i changed team to infected again. I dont like beeing an survivor, at least not in mgftw servers :|

Early morning Votekick and Smoke were locked to the hip and flopped to the same team, which caused everyone else to flop to the same team which had the round starting up 10 v 5.

My opinion is that you stay on the team the game scrambled you on. And if you think I don't get pissy if one of my teammates who was on my team, which is losing swaps over to the winning team, (which usually results in us being 1 person down)...lol you be wrong.

BTW, i kick every noob who keep changing teams. As Ice said, everyone have your own turn to play as infected and survivor. Let's think if everyone choose to play as infected every turn... wow... NICE versus...

 

regarding this..my team was winning. I just wanted to be on the same team with Vote. I played against him a lot that day, and wanted to play with him to...

 

I played L4D for over a year before I even tried VS, didn't think I would like it. Then I tried it a couple times on regular servers and got kicked because I was new and sucked pretty bad. Then one day somehow I spawned into an MG VS game and it was so crazy with so many players. Nobody kicked me and it gave me a chance to get better and I found out I really love playing as infected, and so began my addiction with MG. If I had my druthers I would play infected all the time too but there are problems with that. Mainly that you can generally score more points per round as infected so if you are constantly jumping to the infected side you are scoring more points than if you are playing normal and it is not fair to the people who are playing fair. Another thing is that it is disruptive to all players to have people who just can't stay put. It sometimes happens that when someone jumps they displace a player on the team they are joining and that really sucks. Go ahead and make your jump but don't just waste it on being infected, use it to be on the team you want to stay with.

 

it's not fair to just go as infected, as everyone said.

We can't forget, by the way, that besides all the friendship we got in mgftw, there is still this willing to get leveld up fast in PR, and playing always as infected gives you advantages (more exp and pt)...

try finding the real deal about versus, like finding the competitive mood between teams, even if its just for fun. You are really gonna enjoy it ten times more, ;D

For me i must say, i like to play as Infected more than Survivor. But to keep the Game fair i play under the Motto "Win with your Team and lose with your Team"

I think switching teams should be kept to a minimum, 2 times per campaign should be fair if your team is really bad to the point where you want to bash your head against the keyboard, or if you have friends on the other team, finally if your team doesn't talk at all and the other team is working as a team and using the mic to work together would be good reasons to switch over.

Other then that, if the team is really in-balanced, but the scramble normally fixes that.

Switching teams to play Infected or Survivor only pissies people off.

I don't know if you talk about EU VI or EU PR servers, but as I already mention in an old thread, here is my point about that.
There you will see why we (on VI at least, cause I speak only for VI, I dont know for others servers) kick sometimes people who switch :

That's not the "switch" itself who is a problem, this is the mind of the guy who does it !

Let's take exemples :

- Random guy is joining. Joining loosing team. Then typing immediately !team hoping to see a free slot in the "famous wining team". Seeing that the other team has indeed that slot. He is switching.
=> Bad switch, bad reason to do it, bad player

- Random guy is playing. His team is definitively loosing for whatever reason (rusher, lack of teamwork, bad team, etc...). At each end of round or even sometimes in the middle, he is typing constantly !team hoping to watch a free spot in the other team. When there is one, or even if he quick load the next round, he switch.
=> Same conclusion as above + doesn't even try to do his best to increase the skill of his team.

- Random guy is playing only infected. Each new round, he willingly switch team, and doesn't care of all the rest, except playing only infected.
=> Same conclusion as above + worse reason ever, just keeping playing only a part of the game and messing with the other

Those 3 kind of switch are the worse. In this case, you can be sure that there is 90% of votekick if some regulars see this.

But now, there are other form of switch, which are completely differents and completely legit, with no kick, and no shame :

- Switching to equilibrate : one team has 4 players left for X reason, whatever the team loosing or winning, some people will switch to balance the number of players. Some will be happy to be in the "great-winning-team", some other doesn't care (reconize who is 12yo in the 2 way of thinking).

- Switching to balance : even if it's 8/10 or something, one team thinks the game is completely uneven, some people can switch to "the-poor-loosing-team" to help them. And yes, it exists and happens many time here in EU.

- Switching new campaign for new game partner : other form of switching, at new campaign, it's quite normal than sometimes people, not considering the score of the previous game, want to change team, for being with friend, changing partner, or whatever.
This case can be the most delicate because can be confusing with "joining-the-winning-team-at-new-map". But if it's done with no abuse (no unbalancing), and nothing to do without the score, then it's totaly legit.


All those lines for which conclusion ?

Simply to say that the system is correct like he remains. Switching is definitively not a problem.
It's the people mind and usage which is sometimes wrong.

 

You are low level and weak, that is why u dont like to be survivor on the VS server. Go and play on the COOP servers until you reach a higher level or more upgrades.

You can also accept the fact that you are a lowbob and play on the VS server with the high level players, but then you need to follow the rules stated by us and have respect for the high levels. The tank will not look around in order not to kill the low levels. Besides, every high level player has Charity, just stay in the middle of the high levels and get exp from doing nothing, what is the problem?
