Tanks blocking paths with objects is fine, but not when done by chargers.

    What SHOULD be allowed:

Tank being able to block paths with hittable objects.

    Here's why:

    1) The objects disappear if not hit after a certain period of time, so the survivors can and should employ the strategy of going backwards to hold out until the object disappears or the Tank decides to follow them backwards.

    2) It takes a certain amount of skill and luck to block a path. Hittable objects travel very far when hit by a Tank. It is not a precise act. It takes time and HP to block a path and it is up to the survivors to see what is happening and prevent the Tank from blocking their path, such as throwing a molotov on him and going back to discourage the Tank from spending time trying to block the path.

    3) Tank spawns are random. They don't always appear in places where a path block can take place, thus the game will not be truly predictable if object blocking is allowed.

    4) The game itself is designed in such a way to allow object blocking. For example, the beginning of Blood Harvest 2 has a tunnel at the beginning that can be blocked with a giant tree trunk. Parish 4 has a street with cars that can easily be pushed to a single door. Dark Carnival 2 has an area where a door can be blocked by a forklift. Why take those precarious built-in situations out?

    What should NOT be allowed:

Chargers being able to push objects:

    Here's why:

    1) They reduce hittables for the Tank. As soon as they push a car, it begins to countdown to a disappearance, so a Tank has one less thing to hit when it appears.

    2) They have more precise hitting than a Tank. All they need to do is venture to a blocking area at the right and hit something a few times to make it block the path.

    3) Their ability to hit cars takes away the importance and skill of Tank gameplay, as well as the skill of outmaneuvering a Tank's rampage as a survivor. A Tank hitting cars around can miss the survivors like a noob, but a Charger can just jump in anytime, and shove a car into 3 people who were good enough to avoid flying cars but never saw the Charger jump in right behind them.

    ---------------

I push cars on people as the Charger all the time and love doing it, but I'd rather have that ability taken away than have a rule where Tanks can't block paths. It's just a logical strategy that doesn't completely ensure a win on MG.

The survivors should be forced to adapt to what the Tank does, not be able to just referee and call FOUL when the Tank does something it is able to do in the first place.

    I rest my case.

I'm sorry that you had to write so much for this short response, but this is not up for debate.

Blocking path with objects as a tank is against the rules. Period.

    Why? The objects disappear.

After much debate, it was decided that in the interest of game balance, we would not allow blocking by objects. There are a few special cases where the built-in mod that makes objects disappear does not resolve the issue of path blocking. Objects that move but do not explode such as dumpsters and forklifts, can be pinned next to something by a tank or charger, and if hit at the right angle will not move. By continuing to hit these objects that do not explode, the tank or charger can keep the path blocked indefinitely. So the rule was established to cover all possibilities.

Alright, I guess that negates my thread.
