Tank Suggestion

    Ok so this is a suggestion for the L4D1/L4D2 Tanks, just to mix things up.
    I have seen it on other servers and it can be a lot of fun.

    In place of the Tank Burning when on fire, the fire does no damage but will
    really make the Tank mad, so mad in fact that he will now run faster, like
    1/3 faster, If he gos into the water the fire will go out and he returns to
    normal speed <--- This is more for CooP

    On a Versus server the fire could do damage and get the speed boost
    but its a tactical choice of the player if he/sh prefers the fire over add
    speed, if there is water to give him the option.

    Its also a tactical choice of the Servs as well if we have a different version
    from above that lets the tank burn when on fire but he will get the speed
    boost.

    Im a lil drunk so I hope that made sense, I think you know what I mean :)

    Nerf up the tank a bit

    ...let's face it, tanks now suck...2/3 high lvl survivors can melee the crap out of it in a matter of seconds. If the tank is low lvl then it's even worse. And that is one o the reasons the tanks get passed from player to player so often.My suggestion: have a skill/upgrade that reduces damage taken by tank. have it 5 lvls:

    LVL 1: 5% melee/firearms reduced

    LVL 2: 10% melee/firearms reduced

    LVL 3: 15% melee/firearms reducedLVL 4: 20% melee/firearms reduced

    LVL 5: 25% melee/firearms reduced

    LVL 6: 30% melee/firearms reduced

    Tanks now are not even scary for a few high lvl survivors. So why not make the tank more of a danger rather than a thing that you kill in 20 seconds or less.....

    Or how about tanks that wanna challenge people to arm-wrestling competitions?
    Footy matches? (it would be a challenge; look at their legs...) ;)
    No, but really, just quickening the tanks would be enough, I think. They should be able to throw their haymakers faster, which would in turn keep people off them. Look at the intro video for L4D and this one too: When the tank shows up, he outruns everyone and is slapping zombies out of his path when he does. The power should stay the same, or then people will start complaining (which is inevitable either way I guess) about THAT.
    If everyone's still not satisfied, I would suggest then raising the Paranoia rate. :bloodyskull:

    I think the Tank should be able to keep up with survivors, but not be faster than the survivors. Maybe make it as fast as the fastest upgraded survivor can run since they are the likely ones to get past the tank and try to outrun it.

    Actually, current max tank speed is faster than survivors speed so that's not an issue and i think the tank is fine as it is. I have a success rate of 70%+ with the current situation whereas before, i had it for 100% .. because the tanks were OP and now the tanks need to have two things -- Skill + Common sense because u can't just go up to 10 survivors and KNOW that you will kill them all .. I know tank will get owned by high levels in a small place but it is a 50/50 situation where some maps are suitable for tanks where they can block ladders etc so if tanks were OP again then survivors would have really low % chance of surviving ..

    Raised, the survivors are not supposed to win every time. Plus, 75% of the maps are open areas where a tank has no chance to block/show down survivors. (take hard rain for example...except the last map, a tank can be outrun, or the sacrifice...)Backup doesn't always work (Tank cannot see jockey, and once you swung, it kills the jockey, tank can break the tongue of a smoker....) The new upgrade is excellent, but that is offensive only..there are no defensive upgrades for the tank....

    Another idea should be a different ans faster regeneration rate for tanks (or either smokke's proposal)...

    Even if u have a maxed tanks with 15k HP with high lvl they have low probabilities to even incap just one.
    If you manage to run away to recover it's take forever to heal (and even worst if you do no have 50 bounty instantly heal) and that is lost time because survivors have time to recover and reviving the incap ones. Now that tanks do not stop the timer on the maps u have to wait the recue it turns out to be a lot harder for infected.

    its true the point of infected is to stop survivors not let them survive and score most of the time. I can run a whole map by myself and make it to the saferoom most of the time. Also we are talking about versus and since its versus both sides get to play infected and survivors so there is no "suvivors need a chance to make it" cause both teams will have the same chance to play as infected and survivors. Overall its just who plays better to be the better team.
