I wanna hear the public's opinion on these suggestions: http://mgftw.com/bugs/pointsreloaded/issues/36

Either read thru the entire text, or don't bother reading it at all. There's no tl;dr version.

Note: These suggestions are not mine. Edward Marlus suggested them and no one even bothered reading a line of text.

BTW, I fully agree with everything in there.

i did read them entirely, but a lot of parts of the text are not visible, would be nice if he could write them down again on the forums.

    [1.1]Introduction.

I initially began writing this file(that's how big this thing really is now) a week ago. The ideas contained within this file, as you may have already guessed, are mainly intended to help ease character development in POINTS RELOADED, and they are all part of a project to make it possible to navigate through high levels easily. From the EXPerience cap jumping 70k in points 100-101 to the issue of having to oscillate between levels 94 and 95 for the sake of GEMs, the ideas in this document attempts to offer plausible and humaine alternatives to these issues though some of the ideas in this aforementionned list were not put in with that in mind. When at last I post this behemoth on the Bug Tracker as instructed by Litehawk, I will set the priority to Critical seeing as these issues are certainly pressing though ultimately this issue should be resolved only when HonorCode has the time to take a look at this. For the first time, I give you in its entirety, a draft of Project Unicorn-A. These ideas are but starting points to make leveling a more bearable process as well as possibly make it enjoyable and ensuring likewise for GEMs. Project Unicorn-A, given to Marvel, HonorCode and Litehawk through the Bug Tracker, is the attempt at resolving the issues at hand as well as enhancing the Points Reloaded experience. The ideas mentionned in this one post alone are but a beginning, with the aim to ultimately make reaching level 200 and fully capping oneself out a distinct possibility if they were to invest the effort while furthermore possibly offering Marvelous Gaming memorable content. I understand fully that HonorCode is currently working on this new Guild System and I am willing to wait as long as it takes, especially if we can come to an understanding. My name is Edward Marlus and I sincerely hope we can see eye to eye on these matters.

    [2.1]EXPerience points.

EXPerience is hard to come by to be rather honest. Normally the tables are perfectly balanced, and even now do not need fine-tuning in my opinion, as the first 100 levels are just right. The issue I wish to divert your attention to is the EXP Cap needed to level after 100, which would be 101-200. The EXP cap jumps from 70000 EXPerience points to about 150000, and with the means at our disposal as of now we high-level players do not have such means to make gaining EXPerience easier, and many high-levelers like myself would agree that it is excruciating at this point. This issue also goes hand-in-hand with GEMs for the reason that a high-level player would never be able to reach any kind of a higher level due to the fact that they will be pooling in all their experience on their best chances to get GEMs, the Supreme Lottery. Even if one were to level sufficiently and purchase all that he then level down again, he would still be missing key Upgrades, Skills and Buffs. Thus, attempting to fix the EXP table to make it easier post 100+ will not necceserily work.

    [2.2]GEMs.

As previously mentionned in the EXPerience points section, GEMs are not only scarce, but are likely to hold a person back from developping themselves. GEMs need to be made easier to attain somewhat. Understandably, they will possibly need to be regulated still but the idea here is that obtaining GEMs at this very moment is actually opposite to gaining EXPerience and leveling up, whereas in keeping with PR's espoused theory of Darwinism players should also have more means of accessing GEMs.

    [3.1.1]Solutions - Challenges.
*** THIS SECTION WILL MAKE REFERENCE TO CHALLENGES, FOR THE SAKE OF SIMPLICITY A LEGEND OF THE DIFFICULTIES WILL BE ADDED HERE TO CLEAR THINGS UP:

    Low Difficulty - Easy Difficulty
    Med Difficulty - Medium Difficulty
High Difficulty - Hard Difficulty (By the way Honor, Hard is marked off as Low in the !cp for some reason. :S)
Extreme - Extreme (New difficulty for challenges that could be added in the foreseeable future perhaps?)

ADDITIONALLY, REWARDS MARKED WITH A (?) MEANS I AM UNSURE THIS SHOULD BE DONE. ***

Seeing as the level cap is now 200, the first of many solutions that I wish to introduce is presenting a whole new set of challenges that would basically be harder versions of existing counterparts today. Around a week ago, Bloodhand suggested new ideas for Challenges, and from there I came up with the idea of this harder version of existing challenges as well as the ones mentionned by Bloodhand in his topic. These "harder" versions of challenges would be more rewarding for the most partin the EXPerience department, though higher difficulty challenges would also yield GEMs. The following would be a list of what the current challenges would look like if they were to be remade into harder versions of themselves. Keep in mind that EX versions of challenges would be a difficulty above their regular ones and that it might be worth considering imposing a level requirement of 100+ on these EX challenges should this be suitable.

    [3.1.1.1]Existing Challenges - EX versions.

This section contains EX versions of every challenge currenntly in Points Reloaded. Reward and Penalty charts of existing challenges have been researched in order to make these harder versions without going overboard on rewards and penalties alike.

    [3.1.2]GEMCraft & the Gem Market.

Gemcrafting as it is now is inefficient. In this section I have concocted a solution that might solve this issue. As for the Gem Market, I have revised the idea to according to Bloodhand's specifications to produce a GEM-Enhancement Stone-Helms's Deep Ticket trade triangle.

    [3.1.2.1]Crafting - Raise The Odds.

At the moment, the system for crafting GEMs is somewhat unfair. The higher level you are, the lower odds you have of crafting GEMs. Several problems lie with this logic, however fair it may be. It is fair to mention the fact that the definition of Crafting is to craft something as opposed to failing it every time as demonstrated by this feature. Low level players, just newly acquainted with PR are just beginning to come to terms with the "Points Reloaded" system and as such, wouldn't even understand the importance of GEMs., therefore having higher odds of crafting GEMs as a low level player is actually quite absurd. There is also the fact that as GEM skills are developped lower level players will also need to increase their level to meet the level requirement, especially since some skills start off high. Therefore, it is futile for low levels to have the best chances of getting GEMs, especially since they are not able to obtain 500 points every time AT ALL. Another argument is the fact that Crafting has 20% lower chances of winning than the Supreme Lottery. This too is absurd, especially considering that a successful Craft will only result in 1 to 5 GEMs. Such reasons are why the success odds of Crafting should be increased. I have a new idea that would make Crafting fair for all: Why not increase the odds of winning Craft by 3% for every 12 levels the player has? The odds of winning would begin at 20% and you would stop increasing in success odds of winning Craft at level 120. To keep it short the table would look like this:

    Level 1 - Odds: 20%
    Level 12 - Odds: 23%
    Level 24 - Odds: 26%
    Level 36 - Odds: 29%
    Level 48 - Odds: 32%
    Level 60 - Odds: 35%

[3.1.2.2]Expanding "The Gem Market" - Creating the Trade Triangle.

The market can be expanded to include Enhancement Stones and Helms's Deep Tickets and to encourage intertrading between such key items and to make them easier to obtain. The following tables would be exchange rates between said items:

    * - GEMs:

    ** - 3 GEMs for 1 Enhancement Stone
    ** - 2 GEMs for 1 Helms's Deep Ticket

    * - Enhancement Stones:

    ** - 1 Enhancement Stone for 3 GEMs
    ** - 1 Enhancement Stone for 1 Helms's Deep Ticket

    * - Helms's Deep Ticket:

    ** - 1 Ticket for 2 GEMs.
    ** - 1 Ticket for 1 Enhancement Stone.

    [3.1.3]Helms' Deep.

Helms' Deep has become vacant ever since HonorCode disabled toasters for this event, courtesy of the toaster crisis. Ever since I first participated in a Helms' Deep run I realized there could perhaps be more rewards to Helms' Deep. Let's treat Points Reloaded itself as an MMORPG. Helms' Deep would be called a "Party Quest". In a Party Quest, there are several rewards given to players, though in Helms' Deep there is a startling absence of rewards. The ideas proposed in this section would go hand-in-hand with solving the problems this topic aims for.

[3.1.3.1]Helms' Deep - The Edward Marlus Remix of Toasters.

What could have been done(and technically can still be done at this point) is that instead of having toasters spawn players automatically receive a toaster at random through the system every time a Tank dies as opposed to having to loot a Toaster Drop. This should not only help reinforce Marvelous Gaming's wishes for better teamplay, but help players improve themselves through some of the toasters that might be assigned. This is what such a system might look like for example.

Random Chance of Reward Upon Tank Kill:

    - 100% Chance of a toaster effect at random from one of the five sub-sections below:

    * - 75% Chance of receiving one of the following toasters:

*** - Frodo Toaster: Maximum level for the Survivor Upgrade Bullet Carrier until the end of this round.
*** - Legolas Toaster: Maximum level for the Survivor Upgrade Hawkeye until the end of this round.
*** - Boromir Toaster: Maximum level for the Survivor Upgrade Fast Reflex until the end of this round.
*** - Gimli Toaster: Maximum level for the Survivor Upgrade Immortal Blood until the end of this round.
*** - Arwen Toaster: Maximum level for the Survivor Upgrade Helping Hand until the end of this round.
*** - Gandalf Toaster: Maximum level for the Survivor Upgrade Medic until the end of this round.
*** - Aragorn Toaster: Grants the player an additional Knife if the player has the "Knife" buff.

    * - 10% Chance of receiving one of the following toasters:

*** - Lucky Toaster: 100% Chance of winning on your next Lottery Tickey/Craft. (DOES NOT INCLUDE SUPREME.)
*** - 2x EXP Toaster: Multiplies the amount of experience earned this round by 2x.
    *** - 5 EXP, 1 Point every 4 seconds toaster: Get 5 EXP, 1 Point per 4 Seconds.

    * - 10% Chance of receiving one of the following toasters:

*** - Buff Slot Toaster: Unlocks a new Buff Slot.
*** - Upgrade Purchase Toaster: Buys an upgrade at random for you. (|*| included)
*** - Skill Purchase Toaster: Buys a random skill for you. (|*| included

    * - 4% Chance of receiving one of the following toasters:

*** - Sauron Toaster: Maximum level for the following Survivor Upgrades: Bullet Carrier, Hawkeye, Fast Reflex, Immortal Blood, Helping Hand and Medic as well as granting the player an additional Knife.
*** - 5x Experience Toaster: Multiples the amount of experience earned this round by 5x.
*** - Gem Toaster: You will gain a GEM. (?)

    * - 1% Chance of receiving the following toaster:

*** - Level Up Toaster: Instant level up!

How this system would work is simple really. Once you kill a "Tank", you will get a System Message alerting you that you have received a toaster(You have a 100% chance of receiving a toaster, it's just a matter of what kind you'll receive.). The toaster will then immediately take effect as usual. Toasters cannot stack their effects on top of each other unless they're Aragorn toasters.

[3.1.3.2]Helms' Deep - EXP Reward for winning the event.

At the end of a Party Quest there is a bonus EXP reward for everyone who participated and was alive at the time the event came to a close. A reward of 30-50k to be given out alongside the "Enhancement Stone" would sufficiently reward the player.

    [3.1.3.3]Helms' Deep - Enhancement Stones.

A while ago I heard that Helms' Deep doesn't give Enhancement Stones anymore. I included this section as of late only to point out that this is a bad move, especially if the Trade Triangle is added to Points Reloaded later on, as this would only create the scarcity that is present with GEMs and could possibly be worse if treated incorrectly.

    [4.1]The Final Word.

I understand if some of the ideas in this document clash with the possibility of making GEMs and Enhancement Stones lucrative and that HonorCode is a busy man. Once more I sincerely hope we can come to an understanding. It took me a week to conceive all the ideas mentionned here and so I would hope there's something that can be of use here to you boys.

And that was the original file. It got partially butchered on the tracker however... =/

EDIT : Coke take my ish off your post or people are gonna jump a bridge or two xDDD, or maybe a mod could edit? anyways...

3 gems can get 1 stone lol,,it can be very to easy to get,,every body can easy max out the upgrade,,

but somehow 75 gems for 1 stone is really tough to get,,little bit unfair

but im agree to reduce the stone trade system,,

Everyone is allowed to suggest new ideas, but it is preferable to use the tracker to make suggestions.

    angry, regarding your post...

    1. Hunters that are pouncing or jockeys that are leaping are completely vulnerable to death upon receiving ANY melee damage. Yes, that includes friendly damage. This in-game fact explains why your repounce fails when you get hit by a melee hit. :) A little off-topic, but this is also the reason a jumping jockey may be killed by friendly infected that want to claw at the guy you ride.
    2. Melee hits are capable of delivering headshots. Maybe you just became unlucky?
3.You dying 10 ft away as a smoker is possibly due to a little lag time, the survivor being able to move fast because of sprint upgrade and your body being pushed back on death combined.
    4. Witches nowadays have poison, which is particularly useful.
