Need Community Ideas for Event! (Free Stuff)

Hello!

Marvelous Gaming is very happy to extend a generous hand to it's community.
Everyone wants Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

We'll be giving away FOUR free copies.

However, we will hold a competition or event to distribute them. Admins will be eligible to play. What are YOUR ideas for how to host this?

Just a thought but,,, can u make a pr or VI server just one on one(like 1 survivor vs 1 infected)? Could have competitions in this manner...

 

See who can spend the most hours on Teamspeak in a week?

 

Maybe 4 survival events in a server with no !cp and no !buy. This way no one has unfair advantage. The last man standing wins that event. Players can only participate in one survival event (this way everyone has a chance to win).

 

I was talking to Luke, and he said it would be a fun idea for me or him or another admin to host a survival event. We will spawn a shaman, a knight, and Luke's special Fire Tank all at once, and see who can survive the longest.

Toaster Events would be interesting

You could strategically place toasters in parts of a map and the player with the most toasters wins.
Maybe have 4 events instead of 1 event and 4 winners.

 

Yeah, 4 different unique contests is an excellent idea. I can write up some quick scripts for minigames as well.

I like my idea even though the idea gives a higher survival rate to high levels. If they stuck with us till lvl 200+, it is only reasonable to have 1 contest where where our fans get an opportunity to win imo.

 

It could be ready for some carnage next week if I just make it for an event. I can extend it after that to be more of a coop based map also.

btw Luke, dont start making stuff straight away. till we all agreed on the event otherwise its a waste of time and afford. which i know you have little off atm in your busy periods
i'm giving out 2 of the games, and i believe marvel the other 2 games. so lets wait till me or marvel aproves an idea so we can start this event

I had two idea's of my own also.

People will have to signup for the events, so we know who's participating, and create the groups on who's going to play when.
also will try to make a schedule where people can signup on which day they want to play due to the timezone difference.

1 of the idea's i had was the scavange gameplay, where we will have 12-16 players play at once, and the first 4 players who survive the longest will go to round 2 etc. till we have 4 winners. hiding in a corner with 0 zombies kills wont make you win then btw. every zombie + infected kill you make will give you like a extra time bonus. so the more you fight the more time you are earning, making it not possible for players to just camp in a corner doing nothing.

2nd idea. would be a co-op event where we put all the players in a big wheel, and draw who's going to play with who. we will then do a 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4 versus campaign and see who can get furthest. this will be a 3-4 day event or something then till we have the final 4 players left who then win

 

What about people who just want to participate just for fun like me (cause events are always fun)? Can I participate and when I win, the 2nd one get's the price?

 

Of course, this would be a non-MG campaign. Meaning no PR or VI perks or mods. Just you and your skills? (and your team)

 

I still think we should have one contest where the odds favor our fans. Currently we are trying to make things "even" by determining skill instead of experience (although I do not know what has brought this sudden change). One contest where our fans (aka high levels) get an edge over the lower levels (for being with us so long) seems only fair to me. The other 3 could be anything. Just a thought.

Anyway, let me know what you want me to script, if needed.

 

I dont mind if high lvl dont get edge over low lvl as long as you host event on all servers(asia,eu,chicago) because low ping is important if you wanna death stop hunter or jokey in config like 1vs 1 or 2vs 2.If your ping is high in config server no matter how much experience or skill you have, you can still get owned by si 80% of the time.

 

A twist on above ideas.. Hide a special TV on a survival map, have either the last man standing, or the person first to find the TV win...

Also I saw a preview vid of PRev ? with an arena style map and a big boss in the middle. Thought it was L1teHawk, but don't see it when I search for it.. perhaps it is gone now.
