    so...i have been playing that COOP for a while and as usual, i have some observations

    • When 1-6 PLAYERS are on it it's EXTREME. I mean something like "I have been jockeyed-smoked-hunted and charged in less than 15 seconds" kind. Love it :)
    • When 6-10 PLAYERS are on it, it's HARD. you will have issues completing the safe-room run. Worth the effort
    • when 10+ PLAYERS are on it, it's WAY TO EASY. The only problems i've had were completing my challenges cause ppl kept Molly-frenzy-throwing and killing all the common infected. Didn't like it to much then.

    What i wanted to ask is: can the difficulty increase even more when more than 10 ppl are on?Spawn 3-4 times the SI and common zombies...have meteorites fal from the sky..triple the tanks....something :))
    It seems to me that if you have more than 10 ppl it stops being Extreme and turns into regular Coop, with the paranoia tank included in the menu.

    think 3x or 4x the SI would make everything too hard. I mean you'd have like 9 jockeys on your ass at all times, while invisible at that. 3 tanks would be great if they weren't super-tanks, especially on no mercy finale.

    The subject of dynamic difficulties based on the number of players and their levels has already been discussed and looked into.

    We just need more feedback from the roots, because this system is what will permit us to have the same challenge no matter how many players there are on a COOP server

    Well, the problem is the setting sv_maxplayers 20. The server allows 20 players max, this includes special infected. So, if you are on it with 10 people then 10 SI can be alive at the same time, imagine being with 17 people, that makes 3 SI.

    What I can do is set sv_maxplayers to 32 (the game limit) and sv_visiblemaxplayers to 20, so the game only allows 20 humans, thus allowing 12 SI to be alive at the same time. I need to expiriment with this setting first though.

    The other thing I did was ask HC for a plugin that can change cvars based on the nr. of players so e.g.:

    1 - 5 players, SI spawn delay 7 seconds, max SI 4
    6 - 10 players SI spawn delay 4 seconds, max SI 8.
    etc
    etc

    I will look into this and try some stuff :)

    When i play on Coop Extreme i notice that, no matter how small the respawn delay is, you can see, that there are not so much SI in the game.. they just respawn pretty fast..

    Besides, if we had 12 SI (when we have 20 players) we wouldn't need so much commons and the respawn time wouldn't need to be so short..

    Replacing extra SI with commons for 20 players is nice idea for temporaly solution, but it will cause alot of lag..
    And as for the fast respawn time, it may look like we had 10 SI every second since when one dies, another appears, but in the end you know that there is currently max 5-6 SI at the time.. (which is not enough for 20 players)..

    I really like the "sv_maxplayers to 32" since with 20 players we would have 12 SI at the same time spawned (which would create alot of life to the game..) and with 16 players, we would have 16 SI against them... If you get this working marvel, this would be perfect for all coop servers! we could reduce the ammount of commons to have some space for the extra SI. and in the same time we would get rid of "super" pings during panic events.

    This is an example setup:

    20 survior players: 12 SI at the time + good ammount of commons to cover the missing 8 SI
    18 survior players: 14 SI at the time + fair ammount of commons to cover the missing 6 SI
    16 survior players: 16 SI at the time + Enough commons to cause extra chaos into 16vs16 match
    12 survior players: ?? SI at the time + ?????? Commons to cause extra chaos into 12vs?? match

    And so on.. :P the difficulty would be way more dynamic this way..

    can't that stay the same :D. the extreme mod is the best way to do some challenges. Like Zombie genocide. :D

    is it planned to open a extreme coop eu server?? i enjoy really playing the extreme mod but with a high ping u cant play good. so pls open a eu extreme server :)

    Perhaps, but later. First I need to finalize extreme US, once that config is ok I'll probably make a EU version as well.

    Also, can you, pretty please limit access to lvl 40+? Seriously, Just a few mins ago i was there and out of 17 players there were 12 under lvl 40. With so many people, there is no extreme anymore...every 30 seconds we had to pick one off the ground, and man...someone reviving you with 30 health it just sucks....

    yeah....how can you call it extreme when half your team is under lvl 30? I'd rather fight 14 SI alongside 5 higher lvl than have those really low lvls on the same team :)

    Anyway, here's a funny story.

    This morning, No mercy, Elevator shaft to the roof on the last map. We kill a smoker, right before we climb the first ladder, while a spiter was above it. It drops a Double XP/points toaster. Enter Newbie McNoob, lvl 2 or 3. He rushes for the toaster, picks it up and gets incapped and killed by a spiter right before we could get to him (sticky goo maxed out, of course). it took maybe 10-15 seconds from the moment he picked it up and he died. And of course nobody had bounty for a defib so McNoob spent the rst of the round as a spec. That was one waste of a toaster.....

    P.S name has been changed so we don't embarrass the n00bie even more :)
