L4D2 plugins suggestions!

    Hi there!

    Got more suggestions for the L4D2 servers, some might work for L4D, but never tested or looked into too much.

    But these are all pretty good, prepare for a long read!

    Incapped Crawling Animation

    This is a really nice plugin which allows Survivors to "walk over" and "kill" common infected who fall flat face on the floor, so you walk over them instead of being blocked.

    More realistic then, it's a passive.

    Gives the Tank a third attack, it can roar/screem and knock/damage players around it.

    Witch Control

    Awesome plugin that allows Infected players to control the Witch in game, they can stand her up, sit her down, move her, climb ladders, jump and "release" to attack.

    This is a big hit for players, really makes the witch deadly since you can move her around.

    /note... might be broken due to the last update, need to comfirm.

    Jockey Pounce Damage

    This is a plugin that I asked to be made in AMods, it's allows a Jockey to do "pounce damage" if it falls from high up and lands on a Survivor, makes sense, if something falls on you, it's going to hurt.

    I listed some cvars below for a balanced and fair server.

    Could this be added to all servers? It allows players to "unstick" themselves if they get stuck to a map object, it does work, it only moves them if they are stuck and not on a ledge or anything. Real useful player command.

    Player teleport

    I found this to be a really good tool for "ADMIN's" to use if X or Y ever reason they need to goto a player or teleport a player to them, like if they get stuck in someway or somehow warp out the map, these things don't happen too often, but it's useful to have a command like this if a admin is present. Though, admins need to be reminded that this is not to be abused.

    Spawn distances for Infected players in final maps are beyond crazy, you gotta be miles away from Survivors to spawn, this plugin fixs that, I find the cvar set to 50 really nice.

    Infected Ghost Everywhere

    This allows Infected players to "rotate" through Survivor players to choose who to spawn too, this allows you to quickly move to the rushers or the players in the far back.

    Hide HUD on Vomit

    Simple enough, if you are vomited upon by a Boomer, you lose the entire HUD, so you can't see who is down and HP of players, this also has a annoying habit of blocking sourcemod menus if boomed.

    Chainsaw Refuelling

    This is a awesome plugin, it allows a player to use a fuel/gas can to refuel the chainsaw instead of it going empty. You refuel it like you was refuelling the car. It's awesome.

    For some reason, it's been moved to the unapprove area, but don't know why, it has ALWAYS worked on every SM/MM version release since V10 made it. Never had problems, never. I can't comment on the new update through, but it's been through the Passing Update and worked.

    Explosive Ammo Enable

    In Valve's wisdom and to the idiotic system of their voting system if anyone remembered, Explosive Ammo packs was removed from VS, even through everyone voted for "Nothing" and somehow even thruogh Explosive Ammo was 3rd, it still got removed. Crazy maths there.

    What this plugin does, is change one or x amount of Incendiary Ammo pack into one Explosive Ammo, I think that is fair, no harm in one pack.

    This is a plugin that I requested to be made to allow Uncommon Infected hordes to be called upon a Boomer's vomit, pretty cool and the cvars allow total control for balance reasons.

    This is a cool plugin that allows you to trade almost any item with other Surviors. Really useful for true teamplayers.

    I tested it once and it didn't work so well. But that was on the first release, i'll give it a shot.

    No Witch Hunting

    That would be a bit overpowered for infected. We are adding alot of custom and long paths and survivors will bareally make it to the safe room.

    Crowned Horde

    I'm pretty sure Vicious Infected does the same, but could work for L4D1

    +1 for this one :).

    Tank Roar

    I think this would be a good option, but not on all servers (Not in Berserker Mode for example).

    Witch Control

    I'm not sure if it will run bug-less with 10 infected around.

    Jockey Pounce Damage

    This one would rock :D.

    It could be easily exploited, im to sure.

    Player teleport

    Custom commands have a similar functionallity i think.

    Final Ghost Range Mod

    +1 for Dark Carnival

    Infected Ghost Everywhere

    Ghostfly is fast enough to reach survivors IMO.

    Hide HUD on Vomit

    I used this once, its a good plugin.

    Chainsaw Refuelling

    I don't think anybody would actually use this feature.

    Explosive Ammo Enable

    This one please! :D

    Uncommon Boomer Bile

    The bitch slap makes boomer overpowered enough xD.

    Gear Transfer 1.4.2

    I'm not sure about this one. I can give it a shot on the test server.

    Some could be added yes, but more plugins is more code is more lag is more restarts /crashes ;)

    with the new DLC still just being out, we need to give it a while, its still very buggy, honesly we already have a ton of plugins already on each server.

    But ofcouse yea, every now and again, i do try something new, but userly just on PP

    Well, I checked our plugin count compared to other servers and on average we have like 10 - 15 plugins less. However, the admins with more plugins have more crashes as well.

    I always want to add only plugins that we really can't live without, like zombie character selecte, moving smoker, pounce announce etc.

    But incapped crawling animation, I could care less if that one is enabled or not. It's not worth the risk of extra crashes. There are however some other usefull plugins between them, but none of them are a really great addition to any of the servers.

    So yeah I agree with you, let's just leave it running like this and continue working on current projects (like coop) and don't dive into new adventures just yet :)
