Intended Level for Coop Extreme?

With all the recent changes to the special infected on COOP Extreme, what is the level we're expected to be on there now?

I have to be honest (and before someone says it, yes I'll just play on the other points reloaded servers), I think the special infected strenth is getting over the top on there.

Charger/Hunter doing massive damage? Fine. If you're sticking together, someone will easily see a charger hit someone/Hunter Pounce and can react in time. Forces people to stay together.

Jockey incapping in two seconds? Same as above, forces people to stick together.

Smokers pulling you all the way across the map, and by the time someone notices and turns around you're already dead? Even at 200 health and 700 incap health? That's waaaaaaay too much, to be blunt.

Even if you stick with the group, but just happen to be in the back, you get smoked, instantly yanked a MASSIVE distance. Start taking MASSIVE damage instantly. And by the time most people can realize it and turn around, you're already 50-75% dead.

So, if being level 111, 200 health and 768 incap health isn't enough for Exteme Coop anymore, I'd like to know what is.

I for one remember telling HC to make it harder and to be honest, I love it (in some sick twisted way lol)! Yes, I've had maps that took us over 10 tries. But the way it used to be was way too easy. When I play coop extreme, I'm not expecting to finish on the first try. I mean it's EXTREME dammit! Lol I should be getting frustrated and working my ass off to finish. Now don't get me wrong, the SI can be over the top at times. In my opinion, there isn't anything wrong with their super skills; but when they gang up on us, it is nearly impossible. Imagine 5 super smokers attacking at the same time as 3 hunters lol. No way u can beat that without losing at least half the team. I think this is where the argument about whether or not there should be a level limit comes in (u knew it was coming lol). I'm not saying there should be or shouldn't but if half of your team is under level 100 you will probably get your ass handed to you repeatedly. I say this because I've played where most (like 10/16) of the players were over 120 and it was actually fine. Yea, we lost a few times but teamwork was better, defibs were more frequent, and most of the team made it in the end. So I think that there should be a better way of leveling the bot SI on coop. If most of the team is low-level, then SI skill should be adjusted accordingly. Same thing goes for if most of he team is high level. I think it supposedly already does it, but it doesn't seem like it does... All in all, I really don't want it to go back to the old way. If I need a breath of fresh air and feel like relaxing a bit, I play regular coop. Bu when I feel like working my ass off, I play EXTREME. But hey all of this is my own opinion anyway lol (obviously).

I have an orgasm when smoker pulls me across the map .. It shows how much he wants me .. Jokes aside, I think the new system is fine and it really is extreme like it should be.. Instead of having weak SI and naming the server extreme :baby:

I think the power of the SI's are a little over the top. I played yesterday and today. There is no balance anymore. If you have 200 HP or 50 HP, one hit by a SI and you are down. And teamwork? Everyone is a rusher now, because when you don't rush you get killed. Helping other people who are carried far away by a smoker/charger? Forget it, they are already dead when you see it. A lot of people are leaving the server, leaving you in a team with only a few players. Also high leveled players (100+). So only a few maps are playable, except when there are 16 high level players. I know it's extreme, but now it is sometimes unplayable.

Like the name says....Extreme CO-OP. Let's analyse that for example.

CO-OP means EVERYONE GIVES SOMETHING - EVERYONE RECEIVES SOMETHING

Speaking from a High lvl point's of View, here's my oppinion

WE GIVE (Low LVLs and almost everybody else):

    • FREE EXPERIENCE - Via our charity skill. That varies from player to player. I for one give 20%. If on average i make 10-15k of experience/round i give each low lvl 1500 (trust me..i make more than that...but i averaged it)
    • 150-200 HP when picking up an incapacitated lowbie. What do they give in return? 30-50 if we are lucky
    • We do 75% of the work for them to reach the end of a map. I personally don't care if no one under lvl 50 doesn't make it...but there are other high lvls that care
So that is some of the stuff that High lvls do for the lowbies. Let's move on then

THEY GIVE US - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...forgot, WE lose 2000XP, 100 Points and 5 Bounty EVERYTIME we incap a lowbie....
    • We CANNOT use Molotovs to clear out Jockeys/because most of the players UNDER LVL 75 DO NOT HAVE UNSTOPPABLE lvl 1
    • We cannot shoot (till Honor fixed it) in their direction because they have NO IRON SKIN. So, we pretty much have to run and shove a smoker that has a lowbie, putting us at risk to save his ass.....and guess what? Most of the time, by the time we get there he is dead and the smoker is ready for whatever fool comes his way next....
    • WE ARE OBLIGATED to move as slow as they do...unless you want to leave them behind. I for one will not return more than 10-15 units for a lowbie
    • We HAVE TO SHARE the toasters FROM OUR KILLS with them (yeah....on tank finalles, all the newbies run when the tank is alive and come vulturing when hes dead....)
So from what i have gathered, we, as high lvls have no benefits from playing on EXTREME COOP with lowbies, they are parasiting us...You might say that we get bounty everytime we save them...but that is not worth the effort sometimes.....ANy comments that can contradict anything I have put up here?

even with all these modifications you people manage to win the map :) so like Raised has said. the word EXTREME now really is EXTREME how it is intended to be. so in my eyes this is fine too. as for the low levels. they will notice themselfs it might be way to hard for them and will disconnect. All people here started with a low level and played on extreme. (i know extreme was a lot easier before) but still

You mean like this morning? When out of 15 players 5 were under lvl 50, 3 were 50-75 and the rest 100+? And we had to do the Sacrifice map 2 about 10 times before HC came and joined? And the low lvls still stayed and mooched of the High lvls?

No Offence Chris, but like I have said in chat you did not have to work for your levels ingame. So you are not exactly the proper person to speak about playing with low lvls, about losing/winning a map and advancing. If I remember corectly, you jumped from 75+ or something straight to 200....big difference from a guy that has to spend 2-3 hours ingame daily just to lvl up....

I had a feeling the knee jerk reaction was going to be "NOOOO NO MAKING THINGS EASIER, ITS TOO EASY ALREADY"

I get that, and like I already said, I actually don't mind most of the changes to ramp up the difficulty. I was 'wtf' the first few times I was taking massive damage from the special infected, compared to before. I get the point of it though. Extreme COOP is supposed to be harder and really require teamwork/high level skills, which that does and encourages (especially the goddamn jockeys =P).

What I still disagree with is how the smokers are setup. If a hunter pounces someone near you, you have time to react. If a charger charges someone, you have time to react. If a smoker uses their unlimited tongue range on someone, most of the time they're completely fucked. There is *NO TIME* to do anything about it. By the time you realize someone's been smoked and turn around, they're already close to being dead. Like someone else said, this is not going to encourage working together. It's just going to encourage people rushing and hoping they get lucky.

I don't know what the best solution to this is. I *do* want the smokers to be a big threat like the rest of the special infected. But people have to have time to react. And right now you don't. That's really my only complaint. There's almost no time to do anything for someone when they get smoked now. They're basically just dead.

We could change the difficulty tho, based on the level average. Could be bit more easy then :)

Only thing which seems OP are the smokers so maybe reduce their pull range or pulling speed but apart from that, it's fine ..

I don't agree with that and heres why .. They do give us something which is very important for high levels == Bounty! Whenever a low level player gets incapped and we pick them up, we receive 3 bounty and we then use that bounty to buy molos for 6 bounty which gives us EXP :)

They also give us exp and pts at the end of each finale.

They also give us frustration sometimes when we go back to save them and then they leave us behind in trouble and run away like headless chickens (mainly on VS)

I agree the only real problem is smokers. As a high level I know 90% of the times I get smoked now are quick deaths unless I have a knife (BTW, the 2nd knife really helps), I don't even expect anyone to be able to release me or kill the smoker in time since it's so quick and that kinda defeats the point of Extreme CO-OP, takes the co-op out of it a bit...

i would think that the damage of the smokers would be okay if only the pulling speed were to be reduced by a bit. smokers only can damage survivors when they are either stuck on something or right beside the smoker already. other than that, co-op extreme is pretty awesome. :)

-Someone that still needs 8 bounty for mollies. :/

The fact that we re-spawn easily during the map makes the insane difficulty worth it aand alot of fun! If/when you die you will probably miss half the map, but a teammate will usually find you in a closet before the map is over.
