increased ban time for players votekicked off a server

Oki...here are the premises of the situation. players get votekicked by their teammates for various reasons like:

• player rushes as a survivor before the CP loads. 99% of the time someone tells on chat not to rush before cp loads/writes down in team-chat. Today one player (Arikapa) rushed, was vote-kicked and joined 2 mins later.

• player switches from the losing team to the winning team. or like it happened today, someone logs on, sees his character is dead as a survivor and switches to the infected(example-Stoned on no mercy, less than 15 mins ago)

there might be other reasons why someone gets vote-kicked, but these are the the main ones i could think of...

anyway, back to the problem. Can the ban length be increased for team-mates called vote-kicks?. let's say, in a 24 hour period, first kick -15 mins, 2nd offense 1 hour and third 24 hours?

Awaiting opinions, pros/cons..

 

I don't agree because then all the noobs and lowlevels get kicked who still have to learn the game.

Besides, we have admins for that. If a user is rushing and abusing multiple times he will be banned by an admin, or you make a bansubmission, and we will review if he will be banned and how long

And I think that if a user is votekicked several times it is no more fun to play and he will stop the abuse.

An another thing, what if there is a guy votekickspamming and some guy is victim several times then he may gets a ban for 24 hours when he doesnt deserve it

 

I like the idea of a progressive discipline system. However, I don't necessarily agree with increasing the time for the first offense. Usually it's an effective attention getter. In my experience, when someone gets votekicked and come back rather soon they typically behave better.

 

Joerve, for one, i don't call vote kick if he doesn't deserve it. On USA PR VS, a votekick call is followed by an explication why it was called. if the team-mates approve then they vote yes, so there is a slim chance of somebody votekick-spamming. plus you have the 3 minutes between the votekicks.

Don't mean to be disrespectful Youngblood, but not all learn. one one game we had a player called danisco something. he called a vote-kick against another dude for some kill-steal thing and we rejected it. 3 mins later he did it again....so he got vote-kicked. 20 mins later he's back on the server and starts hitting players from the other team that were already trapped/in-capped by smokers, hunters etc....so he gets kicked again.. did he learn? apparently not.....

 

I know maybe you and your team don't, but some other guy tried to votekick me today for no reason at all. And that happens alot.

And we are actually not a big fan of the votekicksystem. We only keep it because of like micspamming or like someone not getting in the elevator. This is so important that we take the votekickabuse for granted.

 

i rather see the team switching be turned off. and if people want to swap to aa different team that he swaps with someone else after he asked a person on the other team if he wants to swap to play with his mates etc

 

I have seen many noobs when they know the command to kick players they just spam and call a votekick vote for no reason and sometime others players(their friends or noobs without reason) also press f1 for and kick player without reason ,,

 

No we tried that already, then everybody just rages

 

The votekick foundation is sound already, we do not need any enhancement for it.

I have seen votekick being used improperly many times than it be used wisely.

And the tendency when it comes to votekick, players rule of thumb is always F1 no matter who the players is.

if there is a votekick abuse, report it to the admin available online or in forum so we can lookout for this player when we go online in game.

 

I for one request votekicks for cases like i have mentioned before,and 95% of the cases i can provide screenshots for the votekick request.

 

I've experienced false votekicking b4...
for blowing up cars with gl even tho i didn't (i was on ak).
and due to the fact that people just looovvveeee to press F1 all the time, i got kicked for nothing...

And i thought a 5 mins ban wasn't that long, but guess what?
It took me another 20 mins to get back into the server cuz it was full all the time.

I think a 5 mins ban is enough to teach them a lesson. Increasing the ban time will only make people who are new to the server to ragequit, and might not be coming back ever again!
