How to Record a Video Demo of Your Game

In "Options," enable developer console.

In game, after the map first loads, hit the tilde key ~ to pull up console.

Type (then hit enter) record filenamegoeshere

If you want to flag it so you remember it later, record epicgamingtoday

Before the map ends....

Go back into console:

Type (then hit enter) stop

Next map? If you want to do another....
Make a diff file name.

record 2
stop

record 3
stop

In essence, you can track a campaign this way.

To locate it...

Navigate to:

\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2

It's in that last folder.

 

How do you make it into a format that your friend can play? (people that don't play L4d2)
