Hardware Issue - "Windows Can't Access The Disk"

Hi,

I have a really good USB Flash drive that I really don't want to just pitch in the trash cuz of this error. Is there any fix out there?

It's a SanDisk Cruzer Blade 15GB.

It is supposed to be able to just be yanked out or unexpectedly ejected (as long as nothing's being written to it.)

I pulled the USB Flash out... but now, whenever I insert it into my laptop or PC, I get "windows can't access the disk." This is when I try to do basic things like chkdsk, etc.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

Have you tried to format it ? i guess....

Happend to me to, couldnt reactivate it...so ..trash...

 

Yeah, no dice w/ EASEUS software.

I try to format it and it says "Windows Can't Acess the Disk." In devmgmt.msc, it recognizes the type of drive, model, brand, blah blah... but no matter how I try to do it (even Disk Management,) I can't format it. I can't run a chkdsk /r, or anything.

What a waste!!! Not giving up, gonna at least tinker w/ it now, seeing as how it's either learn from it or throw it away.

 

Put the USB drive next to your pillow when you sleep.

 

Hi there !! Well there is nothing good about SanDisk 15gb USB drive. It is so cheap these days ! you need to throw it in trash and I known you own a rolls royce, so you can afford a new one easily . Next time buy Corsair/Corsair GT

 

and gently stroke it.

i suggest to test it or try format on other pc, friends pc ... maybe is driver conflict from your system ( dont know what windows u use, i bet win7)
i have same prob time ago with my flash (driver problem with my vista), but luckly have 3 diffrent system home so i manage it format and open with xp from other pc.
giva a try, dont give up...

If the data is really important you can contact SanDisk customer care to save whatever they can(data recovery). I had the same problem once with 32 GB Transcend flash drive. I wasnt able to recover anything but my drive allocation reduced from 32 to 6 GB.

Totally... I'm still trying to decide if I want to go that route. I'm pissed at myself for not being able to find a solution without having to get professional recovery. Thanks for the link & resources, btw, Daddy.
