granade launcher map

    Not sure if this suggestion goes here...

    how about trying out a map mode where all the weapons are granade launchers and no meelay weapons other than the pistol. This will force the survivors to keep more of a distance to each other or they will be blowing each other up and loosing health points.

    I've not tried it but I imagine it would make some interesting gaming.

    Mayby on co-op, but on versus? It will be kinda annoying for infected team ..

    it might be ok, they take a while to reload and if the infected rush in close then shooting them would also damage the survivors. may work better with certain maps more than others and if the infected resporn was quicker.

    I think it would be good for a bit of occasional variation and tactic rethink.

    Picture this jarrick: You're in the Dead Center campaign. Map 1 - the one with the elevator.
    You are Nick. You get into the elevator and in it are eight survivors. A smoker decides to follow you in. It manages to get to the middle of the group in that enclosed, cramped, small elevator. So ahem, what do you think happens next? Yes, you got it. All eight survivors shoot it to bits with their eight FULLY LOADED grenade launchers.

    BANG! CRASH! BOOM!

    And now all eight survivors are on the ground, incapped. I don't think this mode will work. Unless we minimize the effects of the grenades on the survivors, so that no survivor gets damaged by the grenades or we could make the grenade launchers have maximum effect on just the infected. Both of which are hard to do :X

    if I was in that possition, I'd either use the right mouse button , shoving the smoker till it dies, and hope that everyone else would do the same, or I'd get my pea-shooter pistol out and shoot it with that.

    the way it's going at the moment, you get everyone in the lift, a couple of spitters do their work and everyone's incapacitated. So not much difference there.

    if it's an easy mod to make, it might be worth just trying out and seeing if it works or not.
