Empty servers - Kicked for doing nothing included in the MGFTW rules

Hello again MGFTW forum reader,

I have been very annoyed lately by something to do with empty versus servers. To explain it fully i will make an example.

So one day you find yourself in left 4 dead 2 with nothing much that you want to do. You (virtually) jump out of your chair and yell " I know, MGFTW 16 player versus will cure my boredom!". You click on group servers and scroll down to see all MGFTW servers are full except for one versus server which is empty. You join the server and play along (No changing teams, no farming, etc) and all of sudden... *BAM*

Kicked by an admin because you are in an empty server and cannot do anything to consult it and get warned because of something that was not a problem.

For one, i think i know the admin that did this and if my guess is correct then he has been a hypocrite on one of my other forums stating i should just go onto empty versus servers. And two, it is not my fault that i cannot play anything else. It is not my fault there is nobody on the server. It is not my fault that you cannot live with yourself knowing someone is playing on their own happily and expecting no interruptions.

So if you were the admin that kicked me for doing nothing on a hard rain server, i would like to know, 1. Why? 2. What did you gain from it? and 3. How can you kick me for playing on an empty server and doing nothing wrong when i joined a versus server just yesterday and found players switching constantly which is against MGFTW rules?

I don't know who kicked you, but we've had issues with you farming before. I've caught you farming (personally) twice. We've had long discussions about what constitutes farming and what doesn't. I'd recommend not pushing the envelope with the farming issue.

 

Again i must say that i wasn't this time. I have farmed in the past and i admit that, but i still want to know why i was kicked for doing nothing.

 

Ok, well I didn't want to get into this, but I've personally kicked you twice, warned you several times, made sure you said you understood, etc.

If an admin kicked you, they'll respond.

I wanted to address the "constant teamswitching" issue. Instead of mentioning it in the chatbox, contacting an admin, contacting me (which I know you know how to do,) etc., you are using it as some sort of card to defend a kick. Others breaking the rules is not some retroactive thing that can come back to help you.

You need to stop making this a democratic discussion full of justifications and rationalizations. That's not how things work around here.

 

I thought the system is disabled when there are less than 4 players on a server? If so, how is farming possible? Not joining the debate, just asking a very relevant question.

BECAUSE OF situations like this, I asked HonorCode to revert to the 4-Player PR requirement.

People still farm for stats. I've been tinkering with HLX to ignore bot kills & < 4 player servers, but have had no luck.

Who cares though, farming is farming, rules are rules.

 

I try to farm in The Parish but I can't hop on the tractor.
