Download Custom Campaign Via FTP ?

    Today I was looking for a server for l4d2 campaigns with customs, when I find a server that did the direct download of the map to my computer via FTP, this would be very nice if it were implemented in the mgftw servers, so it would be a lot more fun to play in new campaigns. sorry for my bad english

    I love the idea because FTP is so fast and streamlined.

    However, limits of the game and the client force us to use the "Workshop Method." Alternatively (only if Workshop doesn't work for you,) Marvel, our owner, has uploaded all the custom maps in rotation to mirror links.

    Subscribe to all.

    Mark it as a favorite too (the collection) so you can easily locate it again. (Library, All Games, L4D2, Workshop, link on the right-hand side "my subscriptions.")

    TIP: If you allow it to just download while NOT in the game, things will go better. Then, launch the game. PAUSE AND WAIT for 1 minute at the main menu. You should see a brief "stutter" or lag at your main screen. This means that it is verifying the successful installation of the add-on maps. Subscribing = downloading. If you click "subscribe to all," then launch the game, it takes MUCH MUCH longer to install them.

    I read through the whole thread and no where did it come up with the file transfer of maps to clients. All that thread proved to do was set up a L4D2 server from scratch, even so the instructions were poorly written :P

    If you could direct me to the server that downloaded the map to you I'd personally check it out.

    I think is the best way to download is with workshop and then you are for sure that game will work and you will get connected to mg special server and not get kicked 'cos you missing some files parts of map, read erik 's post.
    There was some people downloading from other sources but i remember they have problems joining on server due the missing files.
    subscribe,will auto download,after finished, start l4d2, wait to adds finish load (look left corner),join to server
