Coming up: New Brasil server try-out

    Ok, so this is probably good news for the South American players. I got a bargain on a Sao Paulo server. I emailed the host and asked him for a discount and he told me in very bad english that he would give me a discount of R$150 each month :D

    The server has been payed for already and I'm waiting for delivery after which I can install it. I think it should be able to handle 40 players easily but we'll have to see first how stable it is, the line, the hardware, pings etc. It's bare metal so it should run much better than the previous BR servers (I hope).

    I'll let you know when it's up and running :)

    I'm moving to Brasil just to get better ping if we did do 20VS!

    Brazilian servers will be back? With 40 players?

    Yup they will be back for at least one month. And yes I don't mean 40 players in one game, I mean it should have the bandwidth and resources for 40 ppl.

    We will start with 20 versus. If that goes well we'll add coop.

    OMG, do it. Has anyone ever hosted a L4D server that big? Only MG has the powah.

    No more lag on Versus, this is amazing.
    I miss when my max ping was something around 60.

    So, let's hope that this server don't crash like the last one.

    WOW, just WOW !!

    where did u find this server? i made a survey on brazilian servers (im in brazil) and i didnt found anything releable. Only bas servers with bad bandwith wich cost a lot o money...

    I hope i really miss this one you've taken, and i hope they do the job.

    And i hope its points reloaded/rank

    Anyway it has been delivered, I'm installing it right now but since L4D2 download (9 GB) takes hours and hours from brazil it will be up somewhere tonight 8/9 PM (CET).

    If you want to test the ping use this IP: 186.251.87.5 and let me know the result :)

    Update:

    It's not looking good for Brasil, this morning the connection to the server was really fast. But now the Brazilian people are awake and the connection is very bad.

    I get 35% packet loss to a server a few kilometers away:

    --- www.terra.com.br ping statistics ---
    14 packets transmitted, 9 received, 35% packet loss, time 13005ms
    rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.827/2.206/2.671/0.241 ms

    Speed dropped from 600 kB/s to 30/40 kB/s and sometimes it even drops to 0. I'll sent the host an email but it's not looking good since he doesn't seem to speak english very well and he doesn't seem to know what I mean.

    The name of the server is mgftw.com Brasil | Points Reloaded.
    But yes, the !cp is in spanish and portuguese.

    By the way, brazilians are latin-americans and they do understand portuguese.

    What happened to the brazilian server? Cant find it anymore... i have the latest version non steam....I see USA and EU servers but not the brazilian one...
