Change Team and Tank Destroy Safe Room Doors

Idea 1 - Change Team Ban or Kick:

I know this has probably been mentioned before.
People always keep changing to team with higher score or better players.
To me that makes no sense, I usually wait and try to build up the team, but guess what, once we start winning guys from other side keep changing to winning side.
So all this causes massive "RAGE".

Maybe MG can work on some script to allow only 1 time to change team, next time gets kicked, or maybe put up a "LIST OF SHAME" of top player team changers that gets updated daily.

Idea 2 - Tank Destroy Safe Room Doors:

I don't know if this is even possible.
Lets say you are a Tank and most of the players are already ins Safe Room, I was thinking maybe use the bounty system, for example, if you are a tank you need 60 bounty to destroy Safe Room doors or something like that.

    Thanks.

Hi. Well, the 1-time change was mentioned before, but the results were never good. Instead, when someone changes teams, the server will point out how many times the person has changed teams in total and how many times that day itself. It becomes quite apparent who the rage switcher is, thus why the vote kick is there.

As for the second idea, it would be cool, but if the door was "destroyed," how will the game end ;)

If I remember right, there should be no infected in the safe room or the game will never end. If the door is "destroyed" ie. deleted (if that's even possible) then they'll just keep pouring in. If you mean "destroyed" as in kept open for a certain period of time, then yeah, it would make for a cool plugin.

Hehe what if we had a hammer for a melee item...

you could get round both ideas by making it so that if a team is winning, then the opposing infected have the ability to open the saferoom door until all the survivors are in it - or that the saferoom door won't shut until they're all in. You'd need to balance it out by making sure there's plenty of health packs waiting in the safe room.

that would also make it more tricky for the rushers and make it more of a team effort - like on the finaleys, where the infected can still get to the survivors on the boat/helecopter until all the team are on.

i meant, that only tank could be able to open it, once the door is open, its certainly true that commons and SI would rush in like the surviors were the last food in the world, but tank will rush in too, and once tank who opened the door is killed, the round forcifully ends... (by some plugin or cvar).. Also, i dont see any reason to try something like this :P whats more, the tank could just run away from the saferoom after opening the door, and leave it all to SI and commons, and that way surviors wouldnt be able to kill the tank and round never ends untill all surviors are dead.. but of course also this can be fixed by killing the tank automatically if it flees or adding invisible walls for the tank, or cause playe rlose controll of it, but some of thoose would be abused and more bugs and patching would come up.. endless working..

For the breakable safehouse door it is a little complex, and hard to program. Let's try to do it understandable and shortest possible. We also can have this.
Once survivors have reached the safehouse, infected cannot respawn anymore if killed, then the rest of the team with the tank try to break the door. 2 situations from there: all the infected are killed and the round is over; or infected manage to break the door and kill all the survivors (or be killed too). This may appease some possible infected frustrations (i often been in this case). ;) ^O^
But here comes the complexity. If just one survivor or just a few made to the safehouse "activate" once the door and lock the infected respawning, with all of them dead killed, it will result in a long very crawling to the safehouse ! Otherwise even with respawning locked, the infected managed to kill all the survivors, the round is over and have to go for the rest by trying to break the safehouse door. :P

About Teamswitching, pesonally it should be forbidden unless if it's coming from the serv or an admin. From the moment you connect to the game, the team joined is your
team till you disconnect. Why ?
Because it's unfair for the others even for the noobs (and don't forget we're all have been noobs, we can't know how to play right away, it takes a little while). If the
team is a good winning team, so everything ok, we're all happy, and even the little mistake we might have done during the course are'nt a problem. But if the team fails,
it is all about complaining, accusing, teamswitching and etc. So we know each other, we're all well knit only in happiness not in misfortune ?!
Loosing rounds shoud encourage the team to find/try how to play better, it shoud better weld the team, we should'nt directly discourage and teamswitch as the only solution.
Teamswitching should be forbidden because in this case what are the meaning of these words: team and teamwork ? Normally, we play together, we help each others, we win
    together or we die together ! It's not an individual game like tennis, golfing ... :{

sounds too complicated - just do away with the saferoom door altogether and just have the round end when everyone is in there like on the finale (they don't matter if infected are in the same space as the survivors).

as for team switches - when I join the server, sometimes I join on the survivors team and am already dead and have to wait ages till the round is over. This is a good reason to switch teams - so you can start playing straight away. other than that, I've picked up a lot of strategy being on a losing team by watching how the winning team do it.

The reason why everyone whines because they are on the losing team is that they and more players of that team are either rushing or not working together yesterday when i joined the server and got in the losing team i pulled the group together and told them not to rush and help each other so we can get trough the map easily and at the 4th map of The Parish campaign we where winning again. So winning or losing team doesnt matter its mostly some of the players that makes a certain team win or lose. But rage switching is something i dont allow when it happens i warn the player and if he does it again i kick/ban him/her

I think problem is psychological :)
Loosing team loosing their belief in their own strength, and just give up.
Loosing team loosing players, so it's getting more bots - as u know bots can't play, so team is loosing again.

it seems to me that you get people of different abilities who want to go at different speeds. That's why the team usually splits into the runners and the crawlers - if everyone goes at the pace of the slowest, then everyone gets slowly picked away at by the specials and maybe no one makes it. if there's a bunch of rushers and a bunch of stragglers, there's a good chance the rushers will make it at least.

The best teams I've come accross is when everyone is a rusher so that the whole team sticks together but moves fast.

U should add "their're helping me so fast, i don't have time to say "help" :P

There are 2 type rage-switchers. One that wants to be on the winning team and the one that only wants to play infected. It happens so much that I gave up on kicking/banning them, unless they are constantly trying to switch and type !teams 10 times in a row after each level change.

Well this rule team not switching should go mostly for experienced players, noobs have no choice.

How about disable !teams command before everyone loads up?, cause thats the popular time when people start switching and go on the other team before everyone loads up.

Here's my opinion about the switching

Rage switching should be allowed when :

The teams are still balance after the switching. Example: 10 vs. 9 and teams like that, but when it comes to a point when, even when the teams are balance they keep switching to the winning team. I was in a game and it was very tie, our team was winning and someone switch to our team, I looked up to see if the teams were still balance and yes, it was 10 vs. 9, I didn't warned him. The round after he switched to the other team because they were winning of 100 points, the round after he switched AGAIN to our team because we were winning, fortunately someone started a vote against him. These are situations where we need to do something to stop the damn rage-switching.

Rage switching sould'nt be allowed when :

Someone switch to the winning team and the teams are unbalanced. This is a really common situation where people rage-quit because it's becoming so boring for them to play when the teams are 10 vs. 4. Sometimes the whole looser team rage quit and the teams are of 10 vs. 0 :/

In short, I think that the rage-switchers should be kicked in cases like that. When the teams are of 10 vs. 4, it's not only boring for the looser team, it's boring for the winer team too because there is no challenge, the other team is full of bots so they are easy to kill.

    Rage switching is defined as:
When the server is nearly empty (ex. 10 v 4), it is perfectly understandable when someone from the team of 4 would want to switch in to a full team. However, if the server is full, players should play with their team instead of constantly typing "!teams" and looking for a spot on the other team. If we kicked every person that tried to switch to winning team, there would be no one left playing on MG ;)

"If we kicked every person that tried to switch to winning team, there would be no one left playing on MG".

Entirely true. But what about these:
    - at first just remind/warn the player for his incessant teamswitching; then ask him to go back to his previous team.
    - create a command similar to a votekick: "!teamswitch" that will force and put back the teamswitcher to his previous team by vote.
About kicking "fever", what i call kicking fever is to always automatically kick from the moment you don't like something or someone.
2 weeks ago a good player was kicked by a trial admin for teamswitching; the player explained he's not teamswitching but it comes from the serv at each beginning of the rounds; as he did not want to change team because it was not his fault, he was kicked.
After that till now i haven't seen him playing again while he's a good player without fuss. Here we can see an example of exces kicking.
    I had no news from him too because he's a non-steam player. Kicking should be done intelligently and propely. :{
