just wanted to let u know that i wont be playing for a couple of days.
it seems that i f**cked up my graphics card.

i wanted to disable ati powerplay on my sapphire hd 5770, because i was getting tired of it constandly downclocking to 400/900mhz while playing and i couldnt get it above 20-30fps. while my hd 5770 has enough power to play at max settings 1080p.

so i deleted my current drivers, installed CCC version 9.12 and created a profile, i tweaked that profile so my clock speeds would stay at a constand 850/1200Mhz but i did something wrong and the screen and the screen changed from normal to green and all kinds of graphical errors and stuff.

after 3-4hours deleting drivers and reinstalling them i finally got my windows to recognise my GPU again, and its able to run "normal-ish" now. but i cant seem to play L4d2 anymore, everytime i enter a server the game just crashes.

so im a bit tired of that and im ordering a new GPU, a HD 6870 seem liks a decend upgrade to me :)

if you think you have a sollution to the current problem that im having please share.

also if you have a hd 6870, how does it run with games like crysis 2, metro 2033 or Bf3, high demanding games, like to get some more information about it

so therefor i cant play for a while, or help out with quests or other teambuilding activity ingame.
i also get alot of questions ingame about quests, cant help with that right now so if you have questions about quests just post it in the quest section at the Walkthrough topic :)

    cya soon on l4d2 !

It sounds like you have damaged the card with the clocks, if In fact you saw artifacts and then it crashed that's 99% a fried CPU or memory module..

Only way to find out for sure is flashing the card to it's factory settings which is problematic for two reasons:
    1. It may damage your card.
    2. I don't know if ATI cards are still flashable. Last time I did it was with a X1900XT Which I flashed to XTX.

Look it up, it might help.

BTW I don't know the 5770. If it's an upgraded core (like a 5570 that was factory overclocked and relabeled 5770) it will go back to being the old version upon flashing

Well you said everytime you enter the server?. and can you still play other games? if you can i have had a error like you, that it crashed when i joined a server on L4D2, here is a fix that worked for me

Right click L4D2 - Propertise - Set launch option and write "-lv"
    Without the " "

If that dindt work i have read about this one (Tried it but dindt work for me)
It actually make you install some files of L4D2 again

    Go to your steam/steamapps

    And delete left 4 dead 2 client.ncf
    And left 4 dead 2 common.ncf

And then click install on L4D2 again

If none of the above work. i have no idea, if you don't really understand what i mean add me on steam: P5P5
