blocking ladders as SI/TANK

    I was playing the USA points reloaded server today and ran into an annoying situation. on a few maps ,like Parrish(the sewers part) and no mercy (the last stage, going up to the heli-pad) the infected player that had a tank was blocking the ladder. When i did the same thing, on no mercy campaign i got warned by one of the admins (i think it was honorcode) and told i will be banned if i do that again. the thing is that the infected team he was on kept on doing it even after he left the server.

    My question now is: is ladder blocking ladders as a SI/Tank, allowed or forbidden? i would hate to be banned because of doing that while others get away with it.

    P.S: i saw it's against the rules bu so far no one is doing anything about it...just a thought

    Can't comment on Honorcode's warning because I don't know the specifics, but in general blocking with an object like car or dumpster is absolutely not allowed. Blocking with SI/Tank is not against the rules. Survivor teams can shoot, melee, burn any infected in the way so it's up to the survivor team to handle the situation. Any good survivor team can get past such blocking.

    Yeah, i ran into this issue a few days ago, where I had heard it was against the rules. So now that i've read this and talked to a few roots, let me get this straight:


    SI/Tank sitting on the ladder, blocking passage up: OK

    Tank punching a car/forklift so it blocks a hole up, a doorway, etc...: BAD

    Is this right?

    Not entirely true, if a tank blocking he is like invulnerable, because of buy health. of course it has to be an upgraded tank.

    Alright, lemme see if I am clear on this...

    So if I see a tank blocking the hole like so, should they be warned to unblock or the tank gets slain or something? It can be difficult to do such things when playing as survivor since you can't always see ahead and know what they are doing.

    Then again, I suppose I can spectate and ghost around on certain levels. :)

    Not being a PR player (mostly just VI) I can't comment on the circumstance where it's an upgraded tank. That would seem to change the dynamics of the game. Maybe another admin that plays PR can better respond to that case. But Kitties has it right for the general case.

    If you close a hole with a car, surviors can climb up throught it..

    But if you block a hallway or door with a car, then it's a harder problem.. however, you can always blow it up, if it's not blowed allready.

    It's not hard.

    • Blocking with object = kick
      (but only if there's a tank around to put the object there in the first place, if there is/was no tank it's exploiting the game, so it's a ban at most).
      [*]Blocking with infected = nothing
      (but if the situation calls for it, or infected are blocking the way for a long time, then an admin may warn, possibly slay the tank, at most).

    Anyway, players will have to get tough if infected do block the way. You should put a mic on and issue some "FALL BACK!" commands or "TAKE A BREATHER CHAPS!" - something like that.
