When at the main L4D2 menu, check Options, then Multiplayer.

You can select a pre-loaded spray that you can use in-game by pressing default T key.

Instead, it's much more fun to customize them. Basics:
    - need to be .vtf format (or .vmt)
    - can be an animated .gif (but that requires 2 extra steps because you have to cut the .gif frame-by-frame.)
    - needs to be 256x256 pixels or made to fit that size.

    So,

Visit http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/ - There is a link for VTFEdit 1.3.2.

Download & setup VTFEdit. Run the program. Go to:
    - File,
    - Import (NOT OPEN: This is for preexisting spray files.)
    - Select the .png, .jpg, etc. you want to spray on a wall in-game.
    - Make sure it's "clamped" to 256x256 if it isn't that size already.
    - Save as, (name the file, make sure you choose .vtf format,) and put it somewhere easy to find like addons folder.

Now, in Options / Multiplayer / choose "Import Spray." Locate said file wherever you saved it.

Note: Check Options / Keyboard & Mouse - scroll down and make sure something is assigned to "spray" to use in-game that does NOT overlap a preexisting bind key or anythign like that.

Keep the site Nem's Tools handy. If you're into vocalize commands / vocalizations, you will want GCFScape to compile your own custom .vpk or "radial menu" (default z & x to talk in-game.)
