Another key for the knife please

Can we please have another key to use the knife?
I can't even count how many times I just wasted my knife becuase I was shoving some other infected and got grabbed by a smoker in that moment. Knife gone for nothing. This Happens to a lot of players.

Since we cannot selfrevive anymore with an infected on us the knife ist our most important tool and it just sucks when it's wasted by accident.

So could it please get assigned to another key? "Use" or maybe even "zoom". At least to some key we are not using alle the time.

Shoving infected doesn't kill them, might aswell use Mouse1 to get trough a horde/kill infected without the risk of accidently using your knife.

Melee spam > Shove spam

The K button is on the other side of the Keyboard? E is even a worse idea: Imagine you're standing on an ammo pile refilling ammo and at the same time smoker grabs you..

 

they didn't mean to give survivors another knife.They want to change button which activate it

i like it

 

all buttons without the button which are used often. i like the K button, or the E.
it happen to me very often that i waste the knife at a smoker. now i dont try to shove em away cuz i dont wanna risk my knife for that.. but smokers are very hard cuz they drag u back to safe in seconds. with knife button change there is a chance to avoid them by shoving in right mom.

 

I personally like the idea of putting "e" as knife. I can't count the number of times i've been punching infected, only to be grabbed by a smoker or jockey and waste it on them.

 

Yeah, I would like to see this implemented too. When a smoker grabs me, it's just pure instinct - I shove, and poof! You wasted a knife. I don't have this problem with any other infected though...
I don't care whether it's "k", "e", "zoom" or any other button. JUST NOT THE SHOVE.

 

I tried it and it doesn't work

 

It says in the MG wiki to bind k for /tankhp.

So if you might need to make it something else if you follow the wiki bindings.

 

But the wiki bindings are pretty random, aren't they? I think everybody should use keys they feel most comfortable with.

The "sm_knife" command doesn't work anyway though.

 

I didn't try it with the 'K' key anyway, i tried the '/' key. I will try it with another key but i doubt it will work with another key too..

 

hope Honorcode tell us soon how to change the key or he change it by himself in the code. so long we have to wait for

 

Nahh, it's completely independent of the key you choose.
Anyway, I guess it's one of the "we have to wait for Honorcode" cases.
