Age of Empires 1 LAN party over internet

Yes, for this event, we'll be using software called "Garena" and that way we can play in "LAN" even if we're not in same network

I Have not decided yet, WHEN to keep the event, but i made this guide just in case.

GUIDE:

You will need copy of the game. (No torrents) i will give high speed megashares link instead.

1. Installing the game:

You will have to extract the .zip files to somewhere and open up AOE folder (What you just extracted) and Start AOESETUP.exe (You should run the setup as admin if you can but i didint and it works for me.)

You want to choose "Typical Install" from the setup (since it's faster and you wont see any pre-game cinematics).

Once installion is completed, go to the AOE folder again, and open up "#Patch" folder.
then just click that patch and choose correct language and install it.

Once patch is installed, go to the AOE folder again, and open up "#Crack" folder.
Copy the both "Empires.exe" and "EmpiresX.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires" and paste them into there and replace the older ones.

2. Download and install Garena

Go to: http://www.garena.com/~client/ and download and install the client

3. After garena is installed, you want to create garena account to be able to log in.
You can create garena account here: http://www.garena.com/register/

4. after registering, open up "Garena"

You will now see the login window

Log in, and update if you need,(on pick server, you can choose any of them) and once you are inside, you will see this screen:

Chose AoE 1 and another screen will appear:

Here we will chose right room where we all gather

Now once you are in the right room. (i will choose the least populated one) you will see this screen:

Do as the image says.

Once you are in game, go to steam group chat where i will give more instructions.

All this can be done inside 10 minutes, so even if you will join this event, you dont need to install this all today or even this week. (unless you want to practice and play against random players in high populated rooms)

There are space for 8 players per game!

So tell me if youre interested (you dont have to come for sure since we dont know when we keep this event anyway).

Also, if you have already Age of Empires installed it's probly wrong patch..

We are using patch 1.0 (most common patch is 1.0b or 1.0c)

The one in the link is 1.0 (not a,b,c) and the link is comming in few minutes
