So, this has been going on for a while..and it's getting annoying. With the increased number of high lvls on PR VS Servers and the noobs refusing to give up the tank when they have it on versus, using 60 bounty to get a tank seems more and more pointless...i for one stopped wasting my bounty on tanks when there are ppl under lvl 100 on my team as SI. 90% of the lower lvls will not go afk when they have the tank and as a result, they die in seconds.

I do not know why the coders gave into the whining of the noobs "Aw my gawd..a tank..i wet my panties" and made the heal 50 bounty, but i personally think is wrong. 2 high lvl players can take out a tank in less than a minute, if they are in the safe-room. add more high lvls and a tank won't last 10 seconds there...

I know you want new players on the server, but raising the heal to 50 is not the answer. Today, on VS, we lost a 2 tanks in a row, same round, within minutes of eachother because one noob (zombie slayer something) didn't want give it up to a high lvl.

    My suggestion is either
    • Have the heal cost reduced back to 15. Let's face it, getting 38 or 50 bounty to heal is not that easy on most maps
    • Add a tanks skill/upgrade that reduces the melee damage taken by a tank. 5% for lvl 1, 10% for lvl 2, 20% for lvl 3...so on, till 50%

    25 bounty is good enough.

And I agree with your second idea.

I like both ideas. But nothing can help when a low level gets the Tank and refuses to pass it... Today the same level 1 person got the Tank like 9 times in a row. Angel was quite upset about it :)

And then? have immortal tanks blocking exits again?

I agree with Joerve because those things will not help a low level tank. If a tank doesn't use any strategy and decides to go all out on the survivors to get his balls chopped off then even reducing the heal bounty to 15 wouldn't save his balls. I want to point out two things here ..

    1) I think the current tank heal system is fine because good tanks will use their tank wisely and noobs, well once a noob, always a noob so even 10 bounty may seem a lot to a noob for heal bounty..

    2) I don't use my bounty on tanks either, instead i use it on boomer bile thing which to me is better than having a stupid tank who will waste my 60 bounty and that won't hurt survivors.

This idea of yours will only help higher level players to get help with them being more stronger tanks instead of helping lower level players which would make it all back to as it was before ..

I don't have a problem with 50 bounty for healing. Either my team helps me or I am fucked. If I get some help and have a good spot I can still do some good damage with my tank.

Decreasing bounty costs wont change much. Good tanks will get immortal again and bad tanks will stay bad. In an extreme example: You (lvl 100+) and 9 players in your team below 50/bad players: No matter who will get the tank you will fail. Ig the high lvl gets ist he will be shreded because his team cant help him, if the low lvl player gets it he will be down even sooner.

What I would like much more to see: The player who buys the tank can choose if he gets it or someone else. Or maybe chose whoever he wants and this person gets an increased chance to become the tank.
Cause the really anoying thing atm is that sometimes the same player gets to play the tank over and over again. Especcialy when it's a low lvl. Wasting 60 bounties on tank who dies in seconds sucks but wasting 120 or even 180 bounties is crap.

I like this idea but i'm sure the person who will buy the tank would want to be a tank himself most of the time. I normally get a bounty of between 100-200+ in about 85% of the rounds so imagine if i buy three tanks and i choose all high levels to be tanks then that will make it difficult for the survivors, especially since the finale's timer stops when there is a tank so if three high level tanks just go on a roof of some building and throw acid rocks, the timer is stopped, other SI attacking survivors constantly then the survivors are doomed.

R.I.H...let's not forget that you are lvl 200 with pretty much maxed out every thing both as a survivor or a SI. Most of us on the other hand are not so let me point out a few issues then.

    • Not everyone gets the same bounty as you. I for once do make mad bounty when I am a spiter but that differs from map to map.
    • Not all maps have strategic points where you can stay and hurl rocks at survivors. On 75% of the maps you pretty much have to take the fight to the enemy which means exposure to fire, melee, bile. a low lvl tank dies fast, cause not everybody had points for tank upgrades. I was stuck in a safe-room with 3 lvl 120 plus survs and died in less than 2 mins cause i had no room to run and not enough bounty fo a heal Last night, again tank bounced from 3 diff players and ended up as a bot, cause no one under lvl 95 that got tank had invested any points into it.
    • Throwing stones without the mind control buff(65 gems btw are not that easy to obtain and lots of pppl prefer to use it on other upgrades) or acid rock/explosive rocks is pretty much pointless especially on maps that have chochoo's new pathing(like no mercy finale - the box in front of the window of the radio room.....)

Yeah i am totally maxed out but getting 100+ bounty doesn't require you to be level 200, even level 100 guy can get it and as you get higher and higher (mainly from level 140-150+), then it becomes more easier to get good bounty if you know what your doing and that's what i meant in my previous post .. If high level players get easy bounty and if the tank heal bounty was reduced back down to 15 again then the tank would become OP again which won't benefit the low level players as it will only benefit the higher level players so i don't see how this would help low level players or them becoming good tanks?

If a level 10 player gets a tank and suppose the tank heal bounty was only 5, do you think he will manage to get 5 bounty to buy heal or would few high levels slice him up before he can even throw 2 rocks at them? I know a tank has no chance against even 2 high levels in the safehouse but remember the old times when the tank could take down full team in the safehouse by using his acid rock to get easy 15 bounty. This topic is sensitive and it will drag on forever and ever like it did the last time with no end result.

one think i prefer this thread is,,

whoever 'buy' a tank, he/she become a tank itself,,

thats sound fair,,it must be like that,,

btw the 'regular spawn tank' still control by random player,, keep it that way just like vanilla versus (usually player that have the highest scorepoint damage become a tank)

Okay so if i have 80 bounty which means i can buy two tanks because it costs me 40 bounty instead of 60 to buy a tank so the first 40 bounty will give ME the tank, how would you go about with the other tank? Any random person will get that as well?

how about this, add more option to buy tank & change the bounty cost:
    a. Buy a Tank = suggest around 50-60 bounty (Random player will control the tank, but still have chance to control by itself<regulation luck>, and increase the limit tank spawn reached = 5 or more per round,,)

    b. Become a Tank = suggest around 65-70 bounty,, (this option 'always' make u become a tank, but cost little more bounty, every player can only buy this 'once' per round, so if he already buy this, he cant buy this again)

    c. Heal = suggest around 40-50 Bounty,,

    cmiiw just my 2 cents,,

    A) That is same as it is right now.. Tank costs 60 bounty and by luck you could get the tank or someone else will..

    B) You mean if a person wants to buy a tank for himself then the bounty should be higher? There is already a limit on how many tanks there can be in one round which is set to three, if i'm not wrong..

  14. zipper17

    zipper17 Senior Member

yeah it will cost 'little' more bounty,,

so the point is,, for the high lvl player whoever think their tank upgrade good enough to fight, have to consider to buy option 'Become a tank' than buy a tank<randomly controll>,,

Or just add a button kinda like the press the f3 button to join server but instead of that its the press f3 or something to pass the tank to another player notification because im sure that 90% of the noobs dont pass the tank wen u tell them to go afk is because they dont know how to go afk. They are new to the servers after all.. Also this would prevent the random votekicls by the higher lvls because it gives them a easier choice to pass it and theres no excuse for not knowing how to pass. On the other hand they dont have to pass the tank and could just die so yea lol. But i think that option is best cause most ppl dont know how to go afk. Especially with ppl threating u saying go afk or im gonna kick u blah blah and the noob is probaly like ummmm how i afk whoops to late i died

I actually this idea. And imo it has no drawbacks so why dont make an option to pass the tank what speaks against this option?

That could be true in some cases but other times there are tanks who are level 40,50 or even 60 etc who don't pass the tank and they do know how to go afk but they elect to carry on playing as a tank which is fine because you can't force someone to pass the tank and i do see people shouting and abusing low levels to pass the tanks and when the tank dies, they carry on calling them noob etc which is wrong in a way because we all have a right to play as whatever we choose .. I am level 200, do you guys think it is right of me to ask a level 100 or level 150 to pass me the tank? You may say they are high level players which is true but i can say i have maxed everything out and i am level 200 which is higher than you.. Obviously this is kind of a stupid example but what i'm trying to say here is that you can't force someone to give up a tank or any other SI.

thats wat im saying but at the same time with the press f3 to pass tank option it makes it easier to pass instead of typing !afk. I'm sure with this button more ppl would generously pass the tank and just be like okay. People are lazy these days. Its a nice option to have just saying and the outcome of w/e happens happens kicked/abused/or yet a ty for passing the tank. Things arent gonna change no matter wat so why not just try something that could maybe help.

lets not forget that a good game is when the teams are well balanced. it's no fun being thrashed and beating a duff team is hardly something to brag about. if there are lots of good high level players on a team, they can quickly get enough bounty for a tank, and then if they then get passed the tank to control, then that team has greatly tipped the balance in their favour, making the game for the survivors more of a chore and less fun. I think it's better to leave it as a chance thing and even change it so if someone controlling the tank goes !afk, then the tank gets controlled by a bot. if they want to pass it along, then they can just cause no dammage and wait till the timer does it's thing.
another possibility could be that the survivors can buy a suizide bomb with their bounty - which will kill an immortal tank as well as themselves (and maybe anyone else standing too close). either that, or survivors can buy an antidote to the bile-shower, to clear all the survivor's vision (this is something they could also spend their bounty on after they've died).
