I'm trying to make a .gif into an animated spray. I really have no idea what I am doing, and these Google searches bring up articles written in 2011. Can someone help me turn a gif into something compatible to show in game?
I use an app called Spraygen very easy and simple to use. I'm unable to give a link due to me getting this quite some time ago but google will know as it pretty much knows about everything anyway...
I use 2 programs. VTFEdit by Nem's Tools and Gifsplit. Basically once you have your .gif file, you can break it down into single images. Obviously, some gifs need to be reduced in size to be compatible. So you can pick & choose which frames you delete. Then, in VTFEdit, go to File and Import. Simply highlight all the ones you want to use and press Play to preview it. Made it easy to figure out and I have had no issues since I first tried it. There is also a YouTube video which explains how to use this combo.
Not the ideal video or the one I used as a reference, but it at least covers the tools I mentioned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5Idwt0aSuU
