Special Events
I can see that summer event just passed, and I guess it was pretty fun!
Unfortunately I didn't get to experience much of it, but that's why I have these questions.

Is Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas Events a thing?

Or

We just do it based on season i.e (summer/winter event).

Also what kind of fun comes with these events? I guess Xp booster and stuff..
But what else, I'm excited to hear about it ^^

I'd like to come with suggestions regarding these events if they exist.
If so I'll take it to the suggestion Thread.

Ok so with mgftw events, based on my experiences during the past 5+ years.

We just normally do our Valentines and Halloween Events with no more time for any other events throughout the year. This is commonly due to the admins working on updates/busy with IRL things and has been the case for the last several years. (the admins would probably know a better reason though)

Black Friday/Cyber Monday is not an event, and if it is would be more of an MG store sale.

As for the Valentine's Event, we had it happen throughout 2016/2017/2018. 2019 and 2020 were both mini events instead with 2020 also adding in an increase in the chances of cupid tokens appearing within the black market.

As for the easter event, it has only been celebrated once throughout the history of mgftw. It's last appearance was back in 2017. The same can also be applied for the recent Summer Event.

Otherwise we've never had any seasonal events show.

Halloween has been celebrated pretty much every single year, except for 2016. There was no halloween event during that year. Halloween so far has had no mini-events that I know of.

Christmas/New Years as an event has been celebrated before, but the last time that happened was during christmas 2016/2017/2018. We did have a mini event that happened during january 2019 with the festival party scenario becoming hostable for a week, but that was it. (Feel free to correct me if im wrong about the dates that the christmas event got hosted).

As for the fun that normally comes with these events... sometimes admins may decide to host their own events from time to time. You do need to keep an eye out (normally through the discord) to know when such admin events may happen, or just play on any 1 mgftw server for long enough

Exp boosters sadly do not appear during events, but it has been unknown as to whether or not they became droppable during past events before 2015.

I had no idea that it was such on/off periods on events like this.
Even if you do not mention this, but rather on my own observation and what you tell me here.
Is that the server is run by "personal interest", and not actually moderated on paid employment.

Nothing wrong with that, but as of my first impression I got here. I am very amazed of the professional layout.

I will for sure, check out the discord channel, I do not use it as quite often. However I'm really interested in getting to experience these events and take a part in it

 

As for your observation, you are indeed correct. The admins do work on the mgftw and the servers through their personal interests that best serves the mgftw players and what it can achieve for everyone.

Please don't hesitate to ask any of us players if you have any questions about mgftw and how it works ^^ While it can be complex to understand the nature behind some things, with learning itself taking time, you'll be able to become well knowledged through gaining experience.

You're more than recommended to take a look at the discord channel, and that's fair enough. The discord channel is of course where most of the communication happens. The mgftw forums however is still used for some important things.

haha, that's nice to see. maybe 1 day you'll get the chance to take part in one of the many mgftw mini-events or official events that can happen!
