Revive Hidden Infected game mode.

SunL4D2, detective can buy some items like kit and tazer and tracker if survivors will be able to buy it will be hard to hunt them also they would buy things to prove that they are surv so i guess it will be like an abuse,ofcourse they aren't evil creatures that why they are admin but i am the evil creature that why im banned i simply accept that i just waiting the moments when some 1 need me or put his trust in me again so i can help like i didn't before else i don't see reason to be unbaned

back to the game,if you want give the hunter more advantage you can make event in map like hard rain when they got the gascan in the night and they are returning back to the boat,it will give the hunter the ability to of being invisible in the shadows also will make the human blinded by darkness

 

talking about also reviving TTT I was looking for the sources of the problem the problem exsist for ppl who don't know about mgftw,for an example me how did I know about mgftw when I was a newbie I joined the server without knowing the mode I was mad bec im getting killed by team m8 (infected) but after that I left then joined again without knowing that im in the same server started reading help etc but how can we get ppl that don't know about this server modes there is no modes are better the mgftw as far as I see .

Damn,i've been missing HI so much. It was just awesome. Some of my fondest memories of a game are from HI. My craving for HI is at a high for months now. Is there any chance it will ever be revived or is there just no interest under other players anymore?

 

As a past hidden infected player (that no longer actively players HI ever since 2016 or so)

HI sometimes gets populated with a few players these days, mostly new players as all. I have also noticed this with a few players being banned for having low karma for 3 days within sourcebans itself. You usually don't see anymore players than those ones. I used to enjoy it back in the day when you still had some active players on the servers. Hell I even made a few videos from there.

Unfortunately just about over 90% of HI players have either stopped playing or have ceased to exist from mgftw altogether (with the latter making up more than half of that amount). While I can't say it would be impossible to revive this gamemode, it is going to be a hard process to begin doing at the moment.

Choochoo has returned to mgftw recently within the last month, but I haven't had any thoughts about reviving Hidden Infected yet myself nor have I seen him talk too much about the mod so I wouldn't know. Unless the Hidden Infected server can ever be revived 1 day, it may never see the light of day ever again, for the rest of mgftw's lifespan. (This is just my two cents of thought. I could be wrong about this.)

 

That is a pity. I lived on the HI server for quite a while. I always missed it ,but lately it became worse,and after your message i bought Garry's mod so i can play TTT on there. It is not the same,and the rules on here were much better,but at least it's something to scratch my huge HI itch. And whenever there is a revival,hit me up!! Less than a month ago...perhaps even 2 weeks ago there was some talk between old players and old admins about reviving the server. Unfortunately i havent seen any actions based on those talks. I used to be quite the active player on the HI server (as many will know). If there will be something like a revival, it will likely be on a certain evening/night on a certain day in which most players have the actual time to join....

The reason for the regular players to dissapear is quite logic and easy in my opinion. We were all between 14-24 years old in the high days of the HI server (some younger, some way older). Now..almost 4 years later u have to admit a lot of players have entered a new stage of life. A stage of life in which gaming is a rarity, something that will be done on consoles more than on pc. Simply cause there isnt any time for gaming anymore. Everyone finished studies, got a job, got married or even got kids.

Speaking for myself, i did get a job, bought a house and am now living together with my gf for the last 2 years. My gaming is incidental and mostly on PS4. My gf doenst even appreciate it if im behind my pc during the evening, cause its not social which i totally get. So the old days of playing 10+ hours in the weekends...it will be a rarity.

Nevertheless do i also miss those times. My english language even got worse since i dont speak it anymore xD.
Those times brought me happiness in the hard times of high school. And i agree, i would wanne relive those moments. I'd see it more like a friday evening thing or so, atleast a scheduled thing. But then again i wouldnt be able to join every week. Atleast i will always remember the community and times on HI, by looking at the tattoo i got in name of it (a raccoon since K33ls and others used to translate R.B. to raccoon boy )

Ah I see...

If some of you players did have mgftw on discord, you could perhaps talk about reviving HI with some of the players on there. I'm sure some of them would like to come back and join, just for some HI fun again. We can't guarantee that I can revive HI all by myself, but it isn't impossible to do. Just give us a time and place and we'll get to reviving the server

As for the above reason, fair enough. That's pretty much what 90% of inactive HI players reasons would be too

If you do ever want HI revived, try it during friday or weekend evenings. I'm usually free during very late night GMT+8 hours if i'm not doing VS (fun) or COOP (black market stuff)

fair enough you play TTT on garry's mod. Not that I've ever watched any videos on it If there is ever any revivals on HI, I'll be sure to message you MoD about it

Well, didn't even know there was a forum thread for this mod.

As said multiple times above 3-5 years ago, we all entered a different "stage" of life but I mean, If we all wanted to, we could find that time for gaming. Though, I assume, the server doesn't even exist anymore, does it?

In case it was possible to "revive" it, just for couple gaming nights and we had enough people for it, I would totally join.

(And yeah, posting something here just because it would feel bad that I didn't before as one of the "regulars".)

 

Unfortunately the Hidden Infected server was removed last year, not sure if it would be possible to revive it for an event thing, but would need a strong enough interest.

Do feel free to join us over on the mgftw discord as these days the mgftw forums are dead in terms of discussion.
