    Equipment Buffs will make your weapons much more effective in battle when you combine them together into a much more powerful weapon. These Buffs can range from giving your weapons an ability to make them more useful or to give them more ways of being effective in most situations overall.

    + Indicates that the Buff has a Buff Enhancement that can be applied to it.

    1. Double Projectile

    Buff Requirements:
    Cost: $675 Cash
    Required Level: 5


    Description:
    You will throw 2 pipe bomb and vomit jar projectiles instead of one.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • If you want double the power, double the effects and double the effectiveness with the use of pipebomb buffs equip the Double Projectile Buff.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
    Allows you to throw 2 pipe bomb and vomit jar projectiles.

    2. Knife+ <top>

    Buff Requirements:
    Cost: $1,350 Cash
    Required Level: 1


    Description:
    Gives you a knife that can be used to release yourself from an SI attack once. You can use your knife after 1 second of being trapped using the ZOOM button.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • The Knife Buff can be useful for saving you from special infected attacks. However you way want to save using it until when you only really need it.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
    Gives you a knife that you can use to release yourself from SI. This can be done after 1 second of being trapped using the ZOOM button.

    Buff Enhancements that can be applied to this buff:
    • Throwing Knives: Hold USE and shove to throw a knife, dealing 750 damage/stagger to SI or 500 damage/5s bleed (100 dmg/s) to Tanks. Won't use normal knives. Max count equals Knife count + 1.

    3. Hidden Magnum+

    Buff Requirements:
    Cost: $900 Cash
    Required Level: 30


    Description:
    When incapacitated, a Magnum is given instead of a pistol.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • Every time you are incapacitated by any infected with a melee weapon, you'll get given a Magnum pistol instead of a regular pistol. The Magnum pistol is much more effective than regular pistols at taking out infected in terms of damage dealt.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
    On incapacitation, gives you a magnum instead of a pistol.

    Buff Enhancements that can be applied to this buff:
    • Pocket Magnum: You will always spawn with a Magnum instead of a normal pistol.

    4. Grenade Trap+ <top>

    Buff Requirements:
    Cost: $1,800 Cash
    Required Level: 25


    Description:
    With your throwable, you can shove the floor to deploy a trap. If infected gets close it will detonate, creating a projectile based on the trap type. Traps cannot trigger in 3 seconds of being placed and detonate after 2 minutes. After 3 seconds, you can shove a trap to pick up the throwable again.
    <Pipe Bombs traps deal double damage and have no dropoff>
    <Max 3 active traps, in VS max 3 of each type per round>


    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • if you know where the special infected will be coming from, you can place down throwable traps with the Grenade Trap to stop them in their paths.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
    With your throwable, shove the floor to deploy a trap. If an infected gets close it will detonate creating a projectile based on the trap type. Throwable traps cannot trigger after placement and can be shoved to pick it up after 3 seconds, detonating in 2 minutes.

    5. Cheap Goggles

    Buff Requirements:
    FR-Pills Cost: 10 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 0


    Description:
    Protects your eyes from mud and blood. It will also block Boomer Bile from blinding you once every 2 minutes.
    <Boomer Bile blind block persists for 15 seconds>


    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • To stop mud and blood getting into your eyes, equip the Cheap Goggles Buff. It can also be useful for getting a clear reading on where you should go after getting vomited on by the boomer so you can get to safety.

    Benefits in Buff Sets:
    Gives eye protection from mud and blood. It also blocks Boomer Bile blind once every 2 minutes.

    FACT from »SoD« XeroX [TB] about this buff: cheap goggles is kinda auto included in the german no violence version of l4d2. Not sure about mud but i think its not there either.

    6. Heat Missile <top>

    Buff Requirements:
    Cost: $27,000 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 60 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 150


    Description:
    Installs a powerful digital device that allows your grenade launcher's projectile to chase special infected by analyzing their internal heat. The weight of the device reduces your base speed by 20% while its equipped. The seeking only works on special infected in 1000 units range at the time of firing. The projectile's damage drops by 2.5% every 0.1 seconds of travel, but not below 50%.

    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • In order for Heat Missile Buff to be effective, you should aim and fire at the nearest special infected within a moderate distance from their location, that way the projectiles will hit them accurately.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
    Installs a powerful digital device that gives -20% reduced base move speed but allows fired Grenade Launcher projectiles to seek out for 1000 units range on SI. Projectile damage drops by -2.5%/0.1s of travel. Minimum: 50%.

    7. Floral Grenade Launch+

    Buff Requirements:
    Cost: $67,500 Cash
    FR-Pills Cost: 50 FR-Pills
    Required Level: 211


    Description:
    Fires 10 additional projectiles on your first grenade launcher shot. These projectiles override the Ice Shield clan buff and are deadly against any infected. The additional projectiles deal 33% less damage.
    In Coop: Causes your Grenade Launcher to be unusable for 10 seconds.


    Tips on Buff Usage:
    • If you plan on using the Floral Grenade Launch Buff, save it for when you have a bunch of special infected all close together or have a tank nearby in order for the projectiles to be effective at damaging them.

    Benefit in Buff Sets:
    Fire 10 additional projectiles on the first GL shot. They override the Ice Shield clan benefit and deal -33% reduced damage. COOP: Grenade Launcher becomes unusable for 10 seconds after.

    Buff Enhancements that can be applied to this buff:
    • Vented Grenade Launcher: Reduces unusable duration to 5 seconds.
