What i need to play DayZ ?

I want to give it a Shot....but no Idea what i need for playing.....

Could someone explain me Stap by Step what i have to do/load/install to play DayZ ?

Easy:

1) Get ARMA 2 Combined Operations (need to buy it, somewhere at 20$)
2) Install ARMA 2 and run it once
3) Install ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead and run it once
4) Install DayZ commander (free)
5) DayZ Commander: Download the DayZ mod 1.7.4.4 and some additional maps
5) Get your ass on the MG Taviana server

Can't find the MG server via filter.. Whats the name of the server? Tried MG Taviana

 

I'm a noob at this game. When i double click on the server from Dayz Commander, it loads the game, says waiting for the host and goes to the main menu. When i click on the multiplayer, it shows all other servers again.

 

I actually get this too.

 

I've downloaded sixupdater and it is installing some stuff so i'll see if that allows me to connect to the server. Is the server version/beta patch the latest?

Edit: I think it's downloading the Taviana map. Zsoka, did you download this map?

Edit2: When i try to join the server, it gives me a message saying that the server is running a different version of the mod and asks whether i wish to continue. When i try to join the server from the server list in-game, it says "you cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.tabi, kh_dayztaviana" .. Seems like i need to download the missing content but i'll try that tomorrow now.

You might have been downloading the other version of Taviana map, it's an earlier version to the one we use.

Thank God someone has the same problem like me. I thought I was stupid because I used a step by step instruction from youtube.

 

Just download Dayz Commander, click on Install/Update tab on the top, install the latest version of Arma 2 and Dayz from the page and then scroll down to additional mods and download Dayz Taviana 2.0 version. Once all three are installed, you should be able to connect to the server.

 

Edit: Nevermind I fixed it.

 

Are we still using teamspeak for this game?

 

I was, only 4 others around in their own private channel though.

 

I need some friendly ppl to play with so it becomes more fun and so i get to know how this game actually works and don't worry i'm not going to be a backstabbing noob
