Sad to say but unfortunately some lady in a prius rear ended me yesterday on the freeway. I got caught up in a 4 car accident and my rear and front is messed up. Its fixable though but here comes all the stress from insurances and stuff lol.

Looks like a decent ride... low gas MPG... realistic in terms of payoff. Won't surprise you w/ obscenely expensive maintenance bills. That's the direction I went w/ my car.

I had two cars, one of which was a VW Touareg. Expensive as hell, but it literally changed my financial lifestyle for the better when I unloaded it. This was only 5 or so weeks ago! I took a bit of a hit, sure, but I now have a simple '12 Malibu. I like how there are enough of them around to not stand out like the Touareg did, and how there aren't a GLUT of them like Grand Am's or Grand Prix's... so I can get rid of it easily, yet enjoy low insurance/maintenance, etc. It was a night & day difference going smart.

I was talking with a close friend on Steam about these types of things a month or so ago. We agreed it just becomes less and less attractive to live for the car payment as you get older. And, if you take time to customize stuff, it ends up being a money pit.

Don't get me wrong... for a while I enjoyed a highly-modified 5.0. Tremec five speed on the floor, borla dual exhaust, pirelli P7000's, chrome wheels, etc etc etc etc.

Maybe it's a sign of aging... (REALLY AGING...) but I feel just relieved (REALLY RELIEVED lol) to be free of all the auto hubbub. "Oh my poor Touareg, it's a tight fit, I hope no one dings my doors." Who needs that headache. Just 1 more thing to worry about.

It is true ! A car is a money pit ...
The problem is that in France gasoline is expensive and having a big car you need a big salary !

    Example 1 liter super+ = € 1.50 (1 liter = 0.264 galloons and € 1.50 = ~ 1.94 USD)
    I pay an average of about 70 € / week (90.5 USD) and I made ??550 km (341 miles) :smiley-signs065:

I remember when i went to Florida on vacation i was amazed how everything is cheaper ... gasoline, car rentals and especially the food! Pizza Hut, Coke / Pepsi with no limit! yum

i am a pizza fiend don't go there i'm hungry right now lol

wow @ those prices. we pay $3.20 or so per gallon, but i live in the "midwest" region, the center of the USA, where cost of living is low.

prices in california or the coast can be +$2.00 on top of that sometimes
