Hey guys! timkit here with the Usage of Buffs and Buff Sets Guide! If you're looking to post feedback on this guide, you've come to the right place!

Below this link is the old version of the guide that I used to write up here on the mgftw forums if you ever wanna check it out.

The link to the guide is below, but it can also be found on the wiki:
Usage of Buffs and Buff Sets Guide (Version 2.12.5)

At some point in the future, I will be able to provide you guys with a backup version of this guide should this thread or posts ever be removed.

Welcome to the guide about the usage of Buffs and Buffsets! Made by me, Timkit.

Before you read this guide, just so you know there isn't a guide like this out there anywhere on MGFTW. I also decided to write it up because I might as well give people a helping hand, especially for those level 201+ players who need some help in deciding their buffs. I will also be updating this guide in every new post for every buff that is newly released or updated for any reason (if it's a slightly updated description, I will just edit it. If the buff description was changed significantly enough, I will make a new post on said buff).

    Explanation of this guide
The use of this guide governs that you have the basic knowledge of what the buffs are in mgftw and how you are able to equip the buffs to use them. This is a guide that goes into ALOT of detail regarding just about every buff in mgftw that has known to have existed, their positives and negatives (depending on how useful they are in a buffset or against the infected) and some tactics that you can use to make yourself a better user of that buff or a certain buffset. This guide covers ONLY the COOP buffs that are used in the COOP server (I will cover VS buffs later in a separate guide). None of the infected buffs or those that are VS only buffs (there aren't any anyway, why ask?) are included in this guide.

To know what the buffs are, you first need to know what the survivor buffs are. There are 5 categories in which these types of buffs exist, from Offensive, Defensive, Equipment, Utility to Others. There are 3 categories in which these types of buffs exist in the 5 categories, from Unique (no letter symbols), Event [E] to Quest [Q]. It is important to know these categories as whatever buffs you use will have a major impact on your overall gameplay in mgftw. Remember that there are only 14 unlockable buff slots in total per buffset and up to 20 buffsets that you can have in mgftw.

You will have unlocked all the buff slots by the time you reach level 216 in mgftw, with the exception of the unique buff slot.

To unlock the Unique Buff Slot, you must participate in any event where in a special buy menu you are able to spend a certain amount of something related to that event in order to get the Unique Buff Slot. Examples of where you can get this are the Halloween Event and the Valentine Event. this is also the same way in which you unlock Event buffs (those that are exclusive to an event).

    The Usage of Buffs

To know what survivor buffs you should be using in mgftw, you need to consider whether or not they are based for VS or COOP (Most of the buffs are COOP based). When you know that, you also need to consider the essential buffs that you need as a minimal to ensure you can survive the most dangerous infected and get yourself out of some dangerous situations. Here, I will list below some of the essential buffs that you will need to use in mgftw COOP to ensure your survival, depending on your level this may/may not be different.

    For Low Levels
    - Knife Buff
    - Speedy Water Buff

    For Mid Levels
    - Knife Buff
    - Speedy Water Buff
    - Knife Bag Buff (Optional)
    - Negotiator Buff

    For High levels
    - Tenacity Buff
    - Knife Buff
    - Speedy Water Buff (Optional)
    - Knife Bag Buff (Optional)
    - Negotiator Buff

For Low Levels, the reason why i recommend the Knife and the Speedy Water Buffs is because with the Knife Buff you will be able to free yourself from the infected if no one else can help you, or you want to avoid taking too much damage that results in death especially when your incapacitated. The Speedy Water Buff will allow you to increase your movement speed instead of slowing it down in water areas, which is extremely useful and an essential tool to survival when it comes to maintaining your HP in the hard rain and swamp fever campaigns.

For Mid Levels, the reasons for the Knife and the Speedy Water buff are the same reasons as the above. For the Knife Bag Buff, its an optional essential buff you can get to help you out because you will have more survivability when dealing with special infected that are dangerous, especially with the uber special infected for when you needed that extra knife. The Negotiator buff is one of the most useful buffs in the entirety of mgftw considering that it is a must because of its properties of only increasing the bounty by +1 instead of doubling it every time you bought a health item from !buy. Without this buff, many survivors would be unable to afford heals and even be unable to defib survivors with no bounty on them.

For High Levels, It is an absolute must to get the tenacity buff because it is one of the only tanking buffs to exist in mgftw and it allows you to tank on more damage from the infected, which in some tank fights is recommended to be able to survive and defeat them, which is very applicable when it comes to tier 3 tank fights. For all the other buffs, the above reasons above are the best reasons for why you should have a buff set containing some/most of these buffs to make your chance of surviving better.

    Offensive Buffs

Offensive Buffs let you increase the damage that some/all of your weapons do against infected. However some of these buffs may also be useful in an offensive way to make killing these infected much easier to do.

    On Fire

    Description:
There will be a 1% chance of setting an infected on fire on each gun shot.

    Positives
+ When the On Fire effect triggers on the infected, the fire on them does not go away, unlike with incendiary bullets.
+ The fire deals large amounts of damage to infected, killing them off very quickly, also useful for helping to tackle against tanks that take fire damage.

    Negatives
    - Only 1% chance per bullet to trigger the On Fire effect, more useful on weapons with higher fire rate and less effective on weapons with lower fire rate.
    - Can be swapped out for a much better buff with a similar effect.

    Explanation
The On Fire buff is considered to be a good starting buff for when you want to help contribute to taking down the infected with fire when no one else can. While it is useful at the lower levels, players will find that by testing this out on different weapons they will come to understand that most weapons are less effective than others at causing the on fire effect on infected due to their lower fire rate. Another thing to mention is that you can get the unlockable event buff "Flaming Sword" that has a similar effect, but is much more useful at getting the fire onto infected through melee slashes because you don't need a chance to have the effect activate, it's also a better way to deal with special infected at close range.

    Extra Powder

    Description:
Increases damage done by pipe bombs to special infected by 1000% (Affects Traps).
    <Doesn't affect Seeking Grenade damage>

    Positives
+ Increased damage done by pipe bombs to special infected. Making pipe bombs more worthwhile to use
+ You can combine pipe bombs with the Frag Grenade , Double Projectile and Freezing Grenade Buffs to make the throwable extremely deadly to all infected. This makes it a really useful Offensive Buff to be using.

+ Pipe bomb traps are also affected, making the traps even more lethal to special infected that step on them.

    Negatives
    - The effect won't affect Seeking Grenade Buff damage done.

    Explanation
The Extra Powder Buff gives the pipe bomb an extra kick for when you need to blow special infected away from the surrounding area. As well as its high damage use, you can also use the pipe bomb and turn it into a even more enhanced blast by adding on instant explosions on impact, double the amount of throwables being thrown and the freezing effect on infected who get exploded on. It also affects traps, making the use of pipe bomb traps more than just for slight stunning special infected to a halt. The bad thing about the extra powder buff is that the seeking grenade damage done isn't affected at all.

    Hunting Reward

    Description:
Increases bounty earn rate by 1% for each special infected killed
    <Max: 30%>

    Positives
+ You can get an increased amount of bounty once you have obtained a certain number of SI kills.

    Negatives
    - It takes 15 SI kills to be able to notice that you are earning +1 bounty on anything that gives you +5 bounty and 25 SI kills to be able to notice that you are earning +1 bounty on anything that gives you +4 bounty.
    - Only affects a few bounty rewards, most of which are hardly ever gotten.
    - One of the more less useful Offensive buffs.

    Explanation
The Hunting Reward buff lets you earn additional bounty once you reach a certain number of SI kills to reach the percentage addition to bounty. Other than that, it doesn't really have alot of good uses. It also affects only a few bounty rewards which are uncommonly ever gotten by the average survivor which makes this buff one of the more less useful ones.

    Ninja

    Description:
Instantly reduces current melee fatigue by 50% after killing a special infected, Additionally, it will instantly reset melee fatigue and prevent gaining more for 3 seconds after being released from a special infected.

    Positives
+You can reduce being fatigued due to melee strikes and restore a part of your attack speed back to you per SI kill.
+You can melee swing for 3 seconds without gaining any melee fatigue after being rescued from special infected. This is useful for when you need to move away from them.
+You can combine this with other buffs to make it useful to survive melee range attacks and to deal them back to the harassers.
+ One of the more useful Offensive buffs that can be combined with other useful melee buffs.

    Negatives
    - Not recommended if you prefer a more offensive buffed or defensive buffed Buff Set play style.

    Explanation
The Ninja Buff makes it more worthwhile to going into close combat with infected when your indoors in tight spaces. You can use this buff quite efficiently to get away from Special Infected that are harassing you with their melee attacks and kill them off if you need to restore melee fatigue for when you need to deal with incoming Common Infected. That's why most of its uses can be combined with other useful melee buffs to make for a more melee based play style, especially when coming up against duelist tanks where melees are needed.

    |Q| Piercing Bullets
NOTE: Buffs with |Q| before their name are only Quest Obtainable Buffs. You can obtain the Piercing Bullets buff as a reward after completing the third Theodora quest "Inseparable III"

    Description:
Shooting the same Special Infected or Tank will boost the damage you deal to the target by 1% per bullet. The effect is reset when you change target, change weapon, or reload. The bonus is tripled if you are using a Magnum pistol, AWP or Scout sniper rifle.

    Positives
+ One of the best offensive buffs in the game, enough said.
+ More useful with weapons like the AWP, SCOUT and magnum, but still effective with all weapons at getting the damage done.
+ Can be combined with other offensive buffs to boost the damage of weapons and it works VERY well with the Witch Hunter and Avenger buffs. suiting a varied number of offensive play styles.

    Negatives
    - When damage fall off applies at moderate to far range on ALL weapons other than the sniper rifles, the damage dealt to tanks doesn't multiply much due to decreased accuracy overall.

    Explanation
The Piercing Bullets buff isn't one of those things that pierce the defenses of infected and deal more damage to infected, it does deal increasing damage per bullet to the same infected that you target, only changing when you change targets, change weapons or reload. While it can be said to be very useful with all sniper rifles from any range, it is less useful with all other weapons because they have falloff damage ranges and less accuracy, making it more likely your going to hit another Special Infected rather than the same Special Infected. Its considered a MUST GET for most offensive buff sets because of its extremely useful offensive properties.

    Excitement

    Description:
Killing infected will get you excited and make you able to endure some pain. You get 1THP (temporary health point) each time you kill a common infected, and 8THP for each special infected.
    <Buff doesn't work if your poisoned>
    <Temporary health can't exceed maximum health>

    Positives
+You can get HP regeneration by killing infected, however you get higher health regeneration from killing Special Infected than you do from Common Infected.
+Useful in a Healer/Support Buff Set. Allowing you to have more survivability in order to help out your teammates more while still standing.

    Negatives
    - HP regeneration is only temporary and unless you keep regenerating this health, it will eventually wear away
    - Buff won't work if your poisoned, watch out for that.
    - Usefulness is reduced when you have tenacity buff active as you get damaged more than you do regenerate HP, compared to non-tenacity buff players.

    Explanation
The Excitement buff is a health regeneration based buff with the ability to allow you to regenerate health temporarily when you kill infected. While this is good for having survivability as a healer and support Buff Set user, there are other things to know about it that make it not the best healing buff. It won't work when your poisoned and you won't be healing that much if your a tenacity player, due to you tanking on more damage than you can heal off. The Health regenerated also won't be permanent and it will eventually wear off. There are better choices out there when it comes to healing yourself up rather than doing it the hard way.

    Butcher

    Description:
You deal 1% of the target's current health on hit with melee weapons as bonus damage.
<Only works with targets that take melee damage>

    Positives
+You can deal additional melee damage, the additional damage you do is higher the more HP an infected has.
+Can be combined with other melee buffs to make it a useful melee based Buff Set

    Negatives
    - Any tanks that have the effect of breaking melee weapons when you hit them negate the buff effect.
    - Can be swapped out for more useful Offensive buffs, considering it's not that useful for a melee buff.

    Explanation
The Butcher Buff is your more viable to go to option when dealing with special infected that have high hp or when attacking the Duelist Tank in close range. While it can be combined with other melee buffs to make melee weapons quite useful, any tanks that do break melee weapons when you hit them make this buff entirely useless to use against them, therefore it isn't the best of the offensive buffs either.

    Tank Slayer

    Description:
You deal 350HP bonus damage to tanks as a critical shot. Effect is available each 3 seconds and can only be triggered with ranged guns.

    Positives
+One of the best offensive buffs out there that is useful to have on Offensive Buff Sets
+Despite it saying it only affects ranged guns, it also works with shotguns nicely.
+A good buff to boost your damage against tanks with.

    Negatives
    - Not a useful buff in other Buff Sets like Healer, Support and Defensive.

    Explanation
The Tank Slayer Buff is a good buff to use when you battle just about any tank, no matter what it is you will be able to deal out additional damage every few seconds to make defeating it easier. One fact to know is that despite the buff saying it only works with ranged guns, it's also known to have worked with shotguns, making these weapons even deadlier on tanks. Its a MUST HAVE on Offensive Buff Sets, but not so much on most other non-offensive Buff Sets.

    Regeneration Outage

    Description:
Disables any regeneration skills and buffs of infected after a successful headshot for 5 seconds.
    <Does not work with tanks>

    Positives
+ You can kill the infected when they go to hide, not realizing that their regeneration is disabled.

    Negatives
    - The headshots tend to kill the special infected properly, therefore not letting the buff doing its job right.
    - A less useful Offensive Buff in the Offensive Buff Set

    Explanation
You see a special infected running away from you with low HP, what buff do you use to disable his regeneration? Regeneration outage buff gets the job done when you get a headshot into him, preventing this special infected from regenerating health for a short amount of time, allowing you to find him/her and kill him before the regeneration on him/her works again. This buff is less useful overall as it is a VS specific buff and the headshots inflicted on the special infected may kill him/her instead and not let the buff do its job.

    |E| Focused

    Description:
Headshots against Special Infected grant a bonus of 100% extra damage. For each subsequent SI kill, you gain 25% bonus headshot damage.
    <Max bonus damage: 400%>
    <No bonus damage to Tanks>

    Positives:
+ You deal a large amount of additional damage with headshot hits against special infected. This increases with each special infected headshot kill up to an extreme amount of additional damage.
+ Useful buff to have if you want a quicker way to earn bounty.

    Negatives:
    - The Focused Buff only affects the headshot damage dealt to the infected, tanks aren't affected.
+/- The headshot Damage on normal special infected (Non-Uber Infected) will normally instantly kill them. However it's usefulness isn't lost in Versus by a lot.

    Explanation:
The Focused Buff lets your headshots a large amount of damage to special infected. For every Special Infected killed with a headshot, this additional damage can be increased up to an extreme amount of additional damage. Can be quite a useful buff to have on your side if you are using a buff set based around earning bounty quicker. Just don't forget that the buff effect only works on infected that aren't tanks. While the headshot damage dealt to normal special infected may seem to kill them off in COOP and VS, you will find that having the buff effect will leave your better off with the headshot damage dealt to specials when they have a 30% damage reduction from the upgrades in Versus.

    |E| Tank Party Crasher

    Description:
The presence of multiple tanks excites you and makes you more effective. You deal 20% more damage for each extra tank.

    Positives:
+ Increased Damage for each extra tank alive.
+ When the Buff is in effect it is very useful with the Offensive Buffs in the Offensive Buff Set.

    Negatives:
    - When there is only 1 tank, the Buff effect won't work.

    Explanation:
The Tank Party Crusher Buff lets you deal more damage for each extra tank that is alive other than the 1st tank spawned. When this Buff is in effect, you can combine it with the Offensive Buffs in the Offensive Buff Set to make this buff even more useful to use with. However, if there is only 1 tank to fight, the Buff won't work.

    |E| Weak Point Spotter

    Description:
Allows you to randomly inflict critical hits on your targets that will ignore their defenses
    <Chance: 1%>

    Positives:
+ You have a chance to inflict critical hits on your targets that will ignore their defenses.
+ The Buff is more useful with shotguns rather than with other weapons overall.
+ Good Other Buff to be equipping on Buff Sets that rely on the use of Offensive Buffs

    Negatives:
    - Low chance to activate the Buff effect, making the Buff less useful on lower fire rate and lower ammo weapons.

    Explanation:
Just like Team Fortress 2 where you have a random chance to inflict random critical hits on your target, this game now has a Buff to let you do so. The Weak Point Spotter Buff lets you have a chance to inflict critical hits on your targets that ignore their defenses. This Buff is considered to be more useful with shotgun weapons rather than other weapons in general due to the shotguns firing out pellets per shell, giving more chances to get the Buff effect working. It's a good Other Buff to have equipped on Offensive Buff Sets too. Since there is a low chance of having the Buff effect activate however, the Buff is less useful with weapons that have lower ammo counts and lower rate of fire.

    |E| Ex-Infected Mourn

    Description:
After getting attacked by a special infected (and forming a strong relationship of respect and love), you won't be able to receive CC effects after getting released from the same infected type for 7 seconds. (You are immune to the tactics that your ex used on you).

    Positives
+ After getting attacked by any special infected, you become immune to the same type infected tactics for several seconds.
+ A useful buff for when you want to get away from annoying hunters, smokers, spitters, jockeys and chargers especially in Versus a lot.

    Negatives
    - You can't be immune to the tactics other infected types use on you.

    Explanation:
You get attacked by a special infected! oh no! how will you make it up to them when you broke their heart? Use the Ex-Infected Mourn Buff. After you get attacked by any special infected, you become immune to the tactics for the special infected that attacked you only, for several seconds. A useful buff for when you want to get away from that annoying Hunter, Smoker, Spitter, Jockey or Charger, especially in Versus when these guys melee attack you a lot. You aren't immune to the tactics other infected types use on you though.

    Ranged expert

    Description:
All your rifles and machine guns completely ignore the defenses of your target, but are unaffected by any attack percent bonuses from other buffs. (Flat bonuses still apply)

    Positives
+ All of your weapons ignore the defenses of your target.
+ A recommended buff to have in the Balanced COOP Buff set.
+ A good buff to have in Versus for when the special infected can have some good defense against your attacks. It renders those special infected completely vulnerable to your attacks.

    Negatives
    - Offensive Buffs Percentage % and Additional Damage numbers are unaffected (set to 0% and 0 respectively when calculating damage). This excludes Bonus % from upgrades.

    Explanation:
The Ranged expert Buff allows your weapons to completely ignore the defense of your target, no matter whether or not its the boomer, smoker or even any of the tanks. A recommended buff to have on the Balanced COOP Buff set because you can focus on offensive + defensive as well as some support buffs. It is also a good buff to have in Versus for when those special infected are more focused in defensive buffs rather than offensive buffs. Completely rendering those special infected completely vulnerable to your attacks. However the Offensive Buffs percentage % and Additional Damage numbers are unaffected by this buff and don't apply in the damage calculation. The bonus % is excluded and can still affect the damage.

    Defensive Buffs

Defensive Buffs decrease the damage that you take from certain sources. These can be against Common Infected, Special Infected or a particular type of tank damage. There are some buffs however that have other useful purposes for supporting you or the team with increased survival out there on the field against infected.

    Anger Ignition

    Description:
When you are hit by an infected, there is a 1% chance that you ignite everything around you due to your boiling fury.
<Your teammates receive 1HP fire damage from this>

    Positives
+ You can ignite everything around you in a small radius on fire, be it Common Infected, Special Infected and even tanks that are not immune to fire.
+ You can potentially save yourself from death in both COOP and VS if your near dead while incapacitated

    Negatives
    - The effect of the buff has an extremely low chance to activate, even then it won't always activate all the time while Common Infected are constantly attacking you.
    - It isn't the most useful defensive buff and while it may be a more useful VS buff, can be swapped out for other useful defensive buffs.

    Explanation
The fueling anger inside you just waiting to be released, when a Common Infected hits you to the point where that line breaks it'll make them and all other infected around instantly burn till they are dead. You can also potentially save your own live a few times with this buff when it needs to come in handy. Though it has a low chance to activate and there are better defensive buffs that have more usefulness than this one.

    |P| Mutation Shield (Expires)

    Description:
This buff will make your body generate special antibodies against the mutation bacteria, blocking the Mutation skill.

    Positives
+ You are able to prevent the Mutation Bad Status Effect from affecting you in most cases

    Negatives
    - The Mutation Shield Buff cannot block common bad status effects, making it not the best Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set

    Explanation
You hate getting mutated right? well you should get the Mutation Shield Buff if you want to prevent it. The Buff effect will let you block the mutation skill from the special infected on versus and the Shaman Tank's mutation skill. You can't block the common bad status effects here though, making it a less useful Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set

    Explosion Resistance

    Description:
You will be shielded from car explosions, unless you provoke them.

    Positives
+ If anyone explodes a car near you, you will take absolutely 0 damage from it and won't suffer any of the effects. This also applies when a tank explodes the car.

    Negatives
    - If you provoke the car explosion, you will not have the effects of the Explosion Resistance buff from any source.
    - A more useless buff, you only rarely experience the effects of the buff once per chapter.

    Explanation
Oh no! a car is going to explode near you and you might die from it! you also did nothing to the car and pray for dear life you survive, what do you do?
Equip the Explosion Resistance Buff to save yourself from death and to live on to fight another day. If a tank explodes the car, no worries, you don't explode along with it. If you do prove the car to explode though, you don't get shielded from its effects. It is also one of the least used Defensive Buffs in the Defensive Buff Set.

    |Q| Poison Shield (Expires)

    Description:
Prevents you from getting poisoned for a whole month by injecting antibodies to yourself.

    Positives
+ You are protected from being poisoned in any way for 30 days.

    Negatives
    - Only protects you from the poison bad status effect. You aren't protected from other bad status effects, making this buff less useful in the Defensive Buffs list.

    Explanation
The Poison Shield Buff will protect you from being poisoned for 30 days. Hate being killed as a low level by the effects of poison? don't like the poison tank harassing you with the effect constantly? or just want good protection from it in Versus? it protects you from that bad status condition from all of those sources and more. However, since this buff can't protect you from anymore than the poison bad status effect, this buff is considered to be less useful in the Defensive Buff list.

    Shaman Handler

    Description:
Reduces damage received by Shaman or Supreme Shaman tanks by 90%
Warning: If you get mutated, the buff will stop working!

    Positives
+ Massive damage reduction from most of Shaman's attacks and Supreme Shaman's attacks is extremely helpful when it comes to tanking these tanks.
+ You can lure the Shaman or Supreme Shaman tank and receive little to no harm at all, this is a very effective way of allowing free damage to come onto the tanks and to lure them away from you when you need a break.
+ One of the best buffs out there for tanking as a Defensive Buff Set user, if your tanking this buff is as important as the Knight Handler Buff

    Negatives
    - If you get inflicted with the Mutated Bad Status effect, the buff wont work until you are rid of the effect. If you want to partially prevent that though, use the Mutation Shield Buff to help you out a bit.

    Explanation
The Shaman Handler Buff is a means of tanking damage from most of Shaman's and Supreme Shaman's abilities. Of cause though, to be able to take the full advantage of tanking on this damage you would need to be able to lure the tank over to you. At the very least while this causes little harm to you, with the exception of the supreme shaman's drain ability, it also allows for free damage to be dealt on the tank and to also give you a break from luring the tank. It's considered one of the best defense buffs out there alongside the Knight Handler buff. Though it has a small setback to it where if you do get mutated, the buff itself will stop working for you. A good way to solve that partially is by equipping the Mutation Shield buff. It does provide protection from the mutation bad status effect but you won't be fully immune to it.

    Knight Handler

    Description:
Reduces damage received by Knight or Supreme Knight by 90%
Warning: If you get mutated, the buff will stop working!

    Positives
+Massive damage reduction from most of Knight's and Supreme Knight's attacks is extremely helpful when it comes to tanking these tanks.
+You can lure the Knight or Supreme Knight tank into a corner to receive little harm at all. This is a very effective way of allowing free damage to come onto the tanks and to lure them away from you when you need a break.
+ One of the best buffs out there for tanking as a Defensive Buff Set user, if your tanking this buff is as important as the Shaman Handler Buff

    Negatives
    - If you get inflicted with the Mutated Bad Status effect, the buff wont work until you are rid of the effect. If you want to partially prevent that though, use the Mutation Shield Buff to help you out a bit.

    Explanation
The Knight Handler Buff is a means of tanking damage from most of Knight's and Supreme Knight's abilities. You need to understand that in order to properly be able to tank on the damage dealt by these tanks, you need to be able to lure them over to a corner where you will be. It's considered to be one of the best defensive buffs out there alongside the Shaman Handler buff. If you do get inflicted with the mutated bad status effect however, the buff won't work for you until you have gotten rid of it. To partially protect yourself from this bad status effect, you can equip the Mutation Shield that will give you protection. You can't be immune to the Mutation though.

    Guardian Moustachio

    Description:
Grants 5 seconds of moustachio bless if lethal damage is taken. Moustachio bless will block any damage you take, except for fall damage.
    <Works only once per round>

    Positives
+ If you are about to die from a lethal attack that would kill you, moustachio bless blocks that damage and prevents you from dying.
+ The effect of the buff can be used to save yourself dying while as an incapacitated survivor in COOP or VS, especially when you take increased damage.

    Negatives
    - The effect of the buff only works once per round. It also won't work when you take fall damage.

    Explanation
Need to save yourself from death? Do you fear getting killed and you know your about to die? Let the Guardian Moustachio Buff grant you a few seconds of invulnerability to save you from the infected attacks. As long as you can be alive to live another day, you will know this effect can activate in a tight situation, though it can only occur once then. If you do take any lethal fall damage, the Moustachio Bless effect will not work.

    Saferoom Infirmary

    Description:
Heals 8 HP per second when you are inside a saferoom. Healing starts working after 5 seconds of being out of combat. (You are out of combat when you are not taking damage).

    Positives
+ Large health regeneration inside the saferoom can potentially save a tenacity player from dying to infected attacks if that survivor is low on HP.
+ More HP regeneration than the HP regen white toaster effect.
+ One of the more better Healer's Buff Set buffs.

    Negatives
    - The healing will only work when you haven't taken any damage in the last 5 seconds. the poison bad status effect can especially also further prevent this from happening.

    Explanation
The Saferoom Infirmary Buff is a good healers buff because it can be used to give yourself self healing regeneration while you are inside the saferoom. This large health regeneration can potentially save you from dying if you are on LOW HP with infected nearby. It is known to give larger health regeneration than the white toaster HP regen effect itself and it is considered to be one of the better buffs associated with the Healer Buff Set. However in order to make this buff work well, you must have not taken any damage for 5 seconds.

    Morphine Injector

    Description:
Heals 3 HP every 5 seconds while not being incapacitated or hanging from a ledge. The morphine injector cannot heal you if you are poisoned.

    Positives
+ You can give yourself HP regeneration every few seconds to make your survivability in battles alot better.
+ You can stack the healing regeneration buffs to increase your HP regen amount.

    Negatives
    - HP regeneration overall is slow. making you regenerate less HP overtime compared to other buffs.
    - The buff won't work if your incapacitated, hanging from a ledge and poisoned.

    Explanation
The Morphine Injector buff is a slow HP regeneration buff that will give you HP every few seconds to make your chances of surviving the infected higher than normal. While it is a good thing that you can combine this buff with other HP regen buffs to increase it, the HP regen gained from this buff means that you will regenerate less HP overtime. You cannot heal yourself if incapacitated, hanging from a ledge or affected with the poison bad status effect.

    Bomb Tank Protection

    Description:
If you get caught by a bomb tank's ultimate explosion you will not die and will be stunned for 13 seconds. While stunned, you will not be able to command your character.

    Positives
+ If you hate bomb tanks, you can use this buff to lure them over to you to save everyone else but you from the explosion. You don't die but get stunned instead

    Negatives
    - The Bomb Tank Protection Buff cannot protect you from the Bomb Witch death explosion, just watch out when you kill witches you do it not within range.
    - Not the best buff to be using in a Defensive Buff Set

    Explanation
How many people hate the Bomb Tank? No one? what if you hate being killed by its ultimate death explosion? get yourself Bomb Tank Protection to get rid of your problem. This Buff protects you from the bomb tank's ultimate explosion, but also giving you a stun bad status effect for a long duration of time as a counter. Sure it makes you vulnerable but you can move again eventually. The Buff cannot protect you from Bomb Witch's death explosion as the explosion doesn't instantly kill, making it not the best buff to be used in the Defensive Buff Set.

    Counter Slap

    Description:
Decreases the power of the Bitch-Slap of any boomer by 2%, multiplied by the amount of boomers killed during the round.
    <Max: 40%>

    Positives
+ Decreased power of Bitch-Slaps can save you in some circumstances when being jockey-slapped from low heights or normal bitchslapped from moderate heights.
+ Good Defensive Buff to use in versus in MOST chapters where areas are outdoors.

    Negatives
    - Full effect of the Buff requires 20 boomer kills which is not easy to get as a total in a single Versus round.
    - Not a useful buff to use in chapters where the area is mostly indoors.
    - Won't save you at all times when bitchslapped off high heights, depending on the campaign and area it happened in.

    Explanation
The Counter Slap buff decreases the power of Bitch-Slaps of all boomers by a small amount for each boomer killed. A great buff for using outdoors for when you need to save yourself from death many times. The full effect of the buff requires a lot of kills for the maximum reduction in Bitch-Slap power, and that maximum reduction is not easily obtainable in a single versus round. The buff is also considered not useful when any chapter involves mostly indoor areas. The buff does fail to save you from being Bitch-Slapped off high heights as the reduction isn't enough.

    |E| Acid Protection
NOTE: Buffs with |E| before their name are Event Only Buffs. You can get the Acid Protection Buff from purchasing it in events using Halloween Candy, Valentine Tokens or a similar event method.

    Description:
Decreases by 25% the slow effect from acid and the damage received by it.

    Positives
+ One of the more useful Defensive Buffs in the Defensive Buff Set
+ As well as having reduced damage from the spitter's acid you can also reduce the slow effect of the acid.
+ You can combine it with defensive Buffs/Boosters to make you a more formidable survivor to the infected.

    Negatives
    - The buff won't protect you from the Corrosive Tank's acid and the slow effect from it.

    Explanation
The Acid Protection buff can be considered a good defensive buff to use for when your tanking against spitters. Not only can you reduce the damage dealt from their spit, you can also reduce how much they slow down your movement speed, making you more able to get back into the fight. You can also combine this with other defensive Buffs/Boosters like the Group Morale Buff or the Refined Defense Booster to make you a stronger defender against the infected. However, do note that this buff will not protect you from the Corrosive Tank's acid and the slow effect from it.

    Hope on Sight

    Description:
If there is a visible standing teammate while you are incapacitated, your bleedout rate will decrease by 50% and the damage you take by 5%.

    Positives
+ Slightly Reduced damage taken and bleedout rate while a standing survivor can be seen. It can save you from a possible death sometimes.

    Negatives
    - If there is no survivor around, the effect of the buff won't work at all.
    - More of a least useful Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set.

    Explanation
The Hope on Sight buff is a nice buff to use around when your getting incapacitated all the time in Versus, and while it does reduce damage and bleedout rate when a visible standing teammate is nearby, the effects of the buff don't activate if there is no survivor around. That's why it is also considered to be a more least useful Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set

    Group Morale

    Description:
You take 1% less damage from any source for each alive survivor besides yourself.

    Positives
+ For each alive survivor out there, you will gain a reduction in damage taken from most sources.
+ A very useful Defensive buff that can be combined with a number of buffs/boosters to make your tanking ability in mgftw more worthwhile.
+ A must have in the Defensive Buff Set

    Negatives
    - Damage reduction doesn't reduce against Common Infected damage

    Explanation
The Group Morale buff is one of those, the more survivors you have the more survivability there is for you type of thing. It's a must have in Defensive Buff Sets because its usefulness can be combined with other defensive buffs/boosters to make your tanking ability in mgftw more worthwhile. Yet while it may say it's a damage reduction against every source, it doesn't reduce Common Infected damage dealt to the survivor.

    Infected Swarm Protection

    Description:
You block 3% of damage taken from common infected attacks multiplied by the amount of common infected that are next to you.
    <Radius: 135 units>

    Positives
+ You can reduce the damage dealt from Common Infected, your tanking ability against these infected increase the more infected there are around you.
+ A useful Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set if your worried about taking Common Infected damage.

    Negatives
    - The buff doesn't reduce damage against anything else other than Common Infected.

    Explanation
The Infected Swarm Protection Buff is a Common Infected damage reduction only buff. That's why you don't see this buff reduce damage from any other source. It is however another useful Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set to use if you need protection against the Common Infected and your worried about the damage they are doing to you.

    |E| Fentanyl Injector

    Description:
Heals 3HP per second after receiving damage from tanks until you reach full health. It cannot heal you if you are poisoned or incapacitated.

    Positives
+ If you have any missing health, any tank punch on hit causes the buff effect to activate, regenerating small amounts of health until you reach full health.
+ Can be combined with other healing buffs to further increase your regeneration rate.

    Negatives
    - The effect of the buff only activates once you are hit by any tank punch. Won't be activated without it.

    Explanation:
When your in a tank fight and want to have health regeneration without needing to heal at some point, you can trust Fentanyl Injector Buff to save the day! You can get increased survivability while combining the health regen effects of this buff along with other useful buffs in the Healer's Buff set. However, your only going to be getting the health regeneration effects of this buff if you get a tank to hit you, the effects of the buff won't work without it.

    Goal Determination (Not for Sale)

    Description:
Makes you unable to be incapacitated while you carry important objects (gnome, cola bottles or important gascans). Effect dissapears if you drop the object.

    Positives
+ You cannot be incapacitated while you carrying the gnome, cola bottle or important gascans

    Negatives
    - If you are Bitch-Slapped, trapped by pinning Special Infected, you will drop the item instantly and lose the Buff Effect
    - Not a useful Defensive Buff at all, you can swap it out for better Defensive Buffs.

    Explanation
The Goal Determination Buff is designed to not let anything get in your way while you work towards a common goal to achieve with the survivors. If you are carrying items like the gnome, cola bottle or important gascans, none of the melee attacks or non-pinning special abilties of special infected can incapacitate you. However if you are Bitch-Slapped or trapped by pinning special infected, you will instantly drop the item and lose the Buff effect, allowing yourself to be incapacitated. It also isn't a useful Defensive Buff because it can be swapped out for much better Defensive Buffs in the Defensive Buff Set.

    General Tank Handler

    Description:
Reduces damage taken from all types of tanks by 0.12%, multiplied by your current level
    <Max buff defense percent: 90%>

    Positives
+ The best Defensive Buff that can be used in the Defensive Buff Set in mgftw.
+ Your damage reduction is increased the higher your level is in mgftw.
+ All types of tanks deal reduced damage to you, rather than just Shaman, Supreme Shaman or Knight, Supreme Knight.
+ Can be combined with the Group Morale buff for additional damage reduction from tanks.

    Negatives
    - Damage Reduction for the General Tank Handler is not as high as the Shaman Handler and Knight Handler.

    Explanation
The General Tank Handler buff is one of the best defensive buffs in the game that is the most useful buff in the Defensive Buff Set. You can reduce the damage taken from all types of tanks with that damage reduction increasing the higher you level is in mgftw. This can also be combined with the Group Morale buff to give you additional buff defense against tanks. Yet, the damage reduction with this buff isn't as high as you think it is. Overall it is a MUST GET if you are tanking.

    Enhanced Anger Ignition

    Description:
When you are hit by an infected, there is a 1% chance that you ignite everything around you due to your boiling fury. ENHANCED EFFECT: During 5 seconds, continuously ignites everything nearby and deals 30HP damage per second to infected and tanks.

    Positives
+ You can ignite everything around you in a small radius on fire, be it Common Infected, Special Infected and even tanks that are not immune to fire continously for 5 seconds, dealing a small amount of damage per second to infected.
+ You have a higher chance to save yourself from death in both COOP and VS if your near dead while incapacitated
+ Your teammates don't take damage from the activation of the buff.
+ Really useful buff to have around in Versus due to the enhanced effect. Although considered to be slightly less useful on COOP, still an overall useful buff.

    Negatives
    - The effect of the buff has an extremely low chance to activate, even then it won't always activate all the time while Common Infected are constantly attacking you.

    Explanation:
GRRRRRRAAAAAHHHHHH!!! (Gets Super Angry and forces a powerful igniting explosion for 5 seconds). The Enhanced Anger Ignition Buff lets you ignite everything around you continuously for 5 seconds, dealing a small amount of damage per second to infected. This buff can save you from unwanted deaths time after time since the enhanced effect gives it a higher chance to cause nearby survivors to revive you before your death. Unlike the Anger Ignition Buff, the enhanced version of it doesn't let teammates take any damage from your activation of the buff as a big improvement. Now considered to be a highly useful buff in Versus due to the enhanced effect, even though its usefulness in COOP is less, but still useful enough to be used. Remember that the chance of having this buff's effects activate are very low, and even then you won't always see it activate all the time when common infected are constantly attacking you.

    Mindset Change

    Description:
Exchanges your maximum standing health with your maximum incapacitated health.
<First aid kits heal up to 500HP on versus and 2500HP on coop>

    Positives
+ You get higher maximum HP than you normally would.
+ You are able to tank more hits from the infected overall.
+ Useful Defensive Buff if you cannot afford Tenacity Buff or want an alternative play style

    Negatives
    - Infected who have abilities that deal increased current HP/Maximum HP damage are more increasingly bad for the player to deal with the higher HP they have.
    - Lower Incapacitated Health means you will die alot faster than normal

    Explanation
The Mindset Change buff is a good Defensive Buff if you cannot afford the use of the Tenacity Buff or if you wanted an alternative play style. This Buff lets you have higher Maximum HP than you normally would expect to have. This also means you can tank more hits from the infected, making you a formidable opponent. The infected who have abilities that deal increased damage because of higher current HP/maximum HP for the survivor are cautioned and should be dealt with carefully. Also, having lower incapacitated health means it becomes more of a challenge to survive while downed.

    Tenacity

    Description:
Your extreme willpower allows you to stand until death! Grants you 2000 + (200 per level above 201) maximum health, with the condition of instantly dying when your health reaches 0.
<Health from medikits used is halved for each medikit used, down to 25% (100% -> 50% -> 25%)

    Positives
+ Best Tanking Buff in MGftw
+ Best Defensive Buff in MGftw
+ You get increasing maximum HP with every level gained above level 201.
+ You are able to tank on even more infected hits with every level gained above level 201.

    Negatives
    - Infected who have abilities that deal increased current HP/Maximum HP damage are more increasingly bad for the player to deal with the higher HP they have.
    - No Incapacitation Count, you die instantly when your HP reaches 0.

    Explanation
The Tenacity Buff is the Best Tanking and Defensive Buff out there in MGftw. It's an essential and the most useful buff because you get increasing HP and are able to tank on more infected hits with every level gained above level 201. You must realize that with added HP comes increased challenge with the infected who can deal increasing damage for higher HP/maximum HP becoming a pain in the ass to deal with for survivors who have this Buff. Don't forget that once you hit 0 HP, your dead, no incapacitations.

    |E| Advanced Morphine Injector

    Description:
Heals 1% of your missing health every 5 seconds while not being incapacitated or hanging from a ledge. The morphine injector cannot heal you if you are poisoned.

    Positives
+ This Buff is the better enhanced version of the Morphine Injector Buff
+ The amount you heal for increases as your current HP decreases
+ Really good Other Buff to have on if you are using a Healer's Buff Set

    Negatives
    - The Buff effect cannot work if you are incapacitated, hanging or poisoned.

    Explanation:
The Advanced Morphine Injector is the better enhanced version of the Morphine Injector Buff. The good thing about this Buff is the effect of it gets greater as you have lower current HP. It's the reason why it's a really good Other Buff to have around if your using a Healer's Buff Set. Don't forget that like the previous version, the Buff effect cannot work if you are incapacitated, hanging or poisoned.

    |E| Tank duelist

    Description:
You receive 20% less damage from tanks but increase their aggro to you by 300%

    Positives
+ Small Damage Reduction from all types of tanks
+ Large increase in tank aggro means they require only 1/4 of the damage per second average requirements in order to come to you
+ Good Other Buff to be combining with all Defensive Buffs to make yourself a formidable survivor against the tanks.

    Negatives
    - Large increase in tank aggro means they require 4x more damage per second average requirements from other survivors in order for the tank to aggro someone else.

    Explanation:
The Tank Duelist Buff lets you tank on more damage than you have been able to tank. It gives you a small damage reduction from all types of tanks and a large increase in tank aggro. The good news is that you only need 1/4th of the required damage per second on average to aggro the tank tom you. It's a good Other Buff to be combining with all Defensive Buffs to make yourself a formidable survivor against tanks. Just remember that in order for the tank to aggro someone else the survivors must deal 4x average damage per second in order to aggro the tank away from you as a result.

    |E| Frozen Protection

    Description:
Prevents the instant death from getting hit by a tank while frozen. Dying while frozen will still break you.

    Positives
+ Immense Damage Reduction versus Freezing Tank when you are attacked while as a frozen survivor.
+ You can no longer die instantly as a non-tenacity or as a mindset change survivor, massively increasing your survival chances while frozen.
+ A good Other Buff to equip in the Defensive Buff List.

    Negatives
    - Dying while frozen will still instantly break you.

    Explanation:
The Frozen Protection Buff causes the Freezing Tank to just deal normal damage to you if you are frozen, for Tenacity Buff survivors this means an immense damage reduction. Your survival chances are also increased with this Buff because you no longer instantly die due to being attacked as a frozen survivor by the tank. Therefore its useful purpose is a good Other Buff to equip in the Defensive Buff List. If you die while frozen however, your body will still break like glass.

(Had to split this post into 3 parts because there were over 120000 characters in my post as the limit for a post is 45000.)

  2. Ability Buffs

Ability Buffs allow your survivor to execute powerful abilities from within, some may allow you to easily overpower the infected, others may allow you to have an easier time holding them off with your defense. While it isn't just only that, these ability buffs more worth considering to be put to use in offensive/defensive/support buff sets due to their higher usefulness for their purpose.

    Shoving Expert

    Description:
This buff will grant additional resistance to your arms and will disable the shoving penalty as survivor.

    Positives
+ Shoving Penalty is disabled when you shove infected
+ Allows you to do the tier 1 shotgun attacks slightly faster than normal
+ Can be combined with the Compressed Shell Buff to make using shotguns a more viable choice

    Negatives
    - Nothing Really.

    Explanation:
The Shoving Expert Buff is a buff used to get rid of the shove penalty in Left 4 Dead 2 and make it just like it was back in Left 4 Dead. It allows you to be able to attack alot more quickly with the tier 1 shotguns and it can be useful to get infected away from your front when your trying to reload weapons. It can be combined with the Compressed Shell Buff to make using shotguns a more viable choice when it comes to shoving away infected.

    Deadly Shove

    Description:
Instantly kills any shoveable infected after shoving it. Works 3 times after leaving the saferoom.

    Positives
+ You can instantly kill harassing infected that get in your way, no matter how powerful they are
+ The Bonus Toaster can give you the Deadly Shove effect

    Negatives
    - Its limitations, therefore you should becareful as to when its used and treat it like your knives. Only use it when needed.

    Explanation:
The Deadly Shove is considered to be a really good Versus Buff and not so good COOP Buff. You can use it to instantly kill harassing special infected that try to melee attack you, no matter how much powerful they are, they'll die when you shove them. The Bonus Toaster can also give you the Deadly Shove effect, making it's uses more useful in COOP (not VS). However the limitations to the buff mean that you should be careful with it in the same way as you are careful with the usage of your Knife Buff.

    Hyperactive

    Description:
After eating pills or using an adrenaline shot, your swing speed will increase by 10% for 15 seconds. During the duration of this effect, your swinging stamina will not decrease.

    Positives
+ You can attack faster than normal for 15 seconds with your melee weapons
+ Your swinging stamina cannot be decreased, useful if you want to kill a Duelist Tank quickly or do him SOLO
+ Can be combined with other healing Buffs like Enhanced Pills to make the use of healing items more worthwhile

    Negatives
    - Nothing really.

    Explanation:
The Hyperactive Buff is a Healer's Buff that when used grants you additional attack speed on any of your melee weapons used for 15 seconds. Useful to kill off Duelist Tanks with teammates quickly or to do him SOLO all alone as a result of the non-decreasing swinging stamina. You can also combine this Buff with the Enhanced Pills Healer's Buff to make the use of healing items like pills and adrenaline more worth their effects. It's overall a Good Ability Buff to have on if you like being a melee weapon user.

    Agitated Rescue

    Description:
Allows you to run through common infected when the rescue vehicle arrives.

    Positives
+ Allows you to run through common infected in finales when you need to run to the rescue vehicle, this means you go through without any of them getting in your way.

    Negatives
+ one of the more Least Useful Ability Buffs with only one use.

    Explanation
The Agitated Rescue Buff allows you to run through common infected without getting in their way when the rescue vehicle comes, it doesn't prevent them and the other infected from hitting you though. Since it only has one use it is one of the more Least Useful Ability Buffs.

    Witch Hunter

    Description:
Grants you 15% additional damage for each witch you kill during the round, up to 3 times. Damage lasts until the chapter ends.

    Positives
+ You get permanent Buffed Offensive damage for each witch killed during the round, up to 3 times.
+ One of the Best Ability Buffs that can be combined with Offensive Buffs for a good power boost, its very usefulness allows it to be combined with Buffs like Piercing Bullets, Finale Dominator, etc.

    Negatives
    - Damage Up Buff only applies when you are NOT damaged in any way by the witch

    Explanation
You want additional damage that stays permanent until the end of the current chapter for your weapons right? Use the Witch Hunter Buff and you can gain additional damage for each witch killed, up to a maximum of 3 stacks. That's why it is one of the best Ability Buffs that can be combined with Offensive Buffs and other category Buffs to boost your power in play. However in order to take the effect of the buff, you must take 0 damage from the witch at all times while you kill her. this can best be done with a FAST melee weapon where you attack the witch quickly from the back, killing her before she attacks. another way is to use the scope of the AWP/SCOUT and headshot the witch, the bullet will INSTANTLY kill her regardless of HP.

    |Q| Hunterized

    Description:
Enables you to jump like a hunter after killing 20 special infected during the round. You don't need to crouch to jump and you can temporarily disable it by pressing thee walk key (SHIFT) twice.
<You don't take fall damage except in forbidden areas>
    <Cooperative servers only>

    Positives
+ You can jump like a hunter after killing a large amount of special infected during the round.
+ You don't need to crouch to jump like a hunter.
+ You no longer take fall damage, except in forbidden areas.
+ More useful in buff sets aimed at earning bounty quicker, being a healer, being a situational team player.

    Negatives
    - You cannot use this buff to try exploiting the game.

    Explanation
The Hunterized Buff lets you gain the ability of the hunter to jump like one after you have killed a large amount of special infected during the round. You don't need to crouch down in order to jump like one, making jumping twice as easy. You can also no longer take fall damage from most sources except in forbidden areas. Therefore the effects of the buff make this one of the more useful in buff sets aimed at earning bounty quicker, being a healer and being a situational team player. You aren't allowed to try exploiting the game with this buff at all since it's against the mgftw rules.

    Avenger

    Description:
After an infected kills one of your teammates, you will deal x3 more damage to the assassin and won't be able to be killed by it for 8 seconds. If another teammate is killed by the current revenge target, the effect time is reset.
<You can have more than one revenge target>

    Positives
+ Massive damage boost when an infected kills one of your teammates, you can deal increased damage to it for 8 seconds.
+ If another teammate is killed by the same target, effect time gets reset, not extended though.
+ You can have more than one revenge target
+ You cannot get killed by the revenge target for 8 seconds.
+ The Best Ability Buff out there in MGftw

    Negatives
    - Nothing Really

    Explanation:
When an infected kills one of your teammates, any damage you deal to it is CRITICAL to them for 8 seconds, much more effective with weapons with high base damage like the Buffed Pipebombs, Grenade Launchers, Magnum, AWP/SCOUT. If that infected kills another teammate, the effect time gets reset, allowing another 8 seconds from that teammates death more increased damage to the infected that did it. This buff is also good in that you cannot die to the infected itself for 8 seconds, potentially allowing you to revenge kill it instead. that's why it is one of the BEST Ability Buffs out there and a MUST for the Offensive Buff Set.

    |E| Zombie Erradicator

    Description:
You will instantly kill common infected with a single bullet, from any weapon.

    Positives
+ You gain the instant kill CI effect from the M60 and Magnum on all of your weapons.
+ Good Ability Buff to use on Most Buff Sets

    Negatives
    - Its low number of uses don't make it the most useful buff though.

    Explanation:
You don't like the Common Infected and want to instantly kill them with more than just the M60 and Magnum? Now you can, regardless of difficulty or mode you can use the buff Zombie Erradicator on all of your weapons and it'll solve the problem. It is a good Ability Buff to use on most Buff Sets, however its moderate usefulness is a result of its only one use.

    Immolation

    Description:
Pressing the ZOOM key with a molotov in hand will consume the molotov, igniting yourself, you will gain 10% move speed and any infected (not tanks) nearby will immediately catch fire. You will however take 1 damage every 0.3 seconds.
    <Duration: 30 seconds>
<Usable once per round, COOP only>
    Positives
+ You can have the Bonus Toaster effects for 10 seconds longer than you normally would.

    Negatives
    - You take 100 damage over 30 seconds, make sure you have health to save yourself with once you used your buff ability as a non-tenacity user.
    - The Buff effect can only be used once. Use it wisely!

    Explanation:
Want to outrun everything that dares to stop you? Use the Immolation buff to help you outrun the infected with the effect for 10 seconds longer than the Bonus Toaster effect. However you take additional effects as a result of using the buff, you take 100 damage over 30 seconds so make sure you have enough health to survive afterwards. Also you can only use the buff effect once, so use it wisely.

    |E| Berserk

    Description:
You deal 50% more damage and ignore enemy defenses for 30 seconds. Dying will end the Berserk effect and put it on cooldown.
    <Available in !buy>
    <Cooldown: 5 minutes>
    <Coop Only>

    Positives:
+ One of the Best Other Buffs that can be combined with the powerful Avenger Ability Buff.
+ You deal increased damage to infected for a long period of time.
+ You ignore enemy defenses for a long period of time.
+ Useful Buff to have on the Offensive Buff Set.
+ Does not require any other conditions other than Cooldowns.

    Negatives:
    - Long Cooldown as a counter to its power.
    - If you die while under the berserk effect, the effect is ended and the buff goes on cooldown.

    Explanation:
RAAAGGGH!!! I'm super angry now! The Beserk Buff lets you deal increased amounts of damage to infected and ignores defense for a long amount of time. It's one of the Best Other Buffs that can be combined with the powerful Avenger Ability Buff. Also a useful Buff to have on the Offensive Buff Set. The one thing that separates this Buff from other Buffs is that this one doesn't require any other conditions other than the cooldown time. The Counter to this Buff is the long cooldown time, use it wisely with the Avenger Buff and in times when its needed or you can deal free damage without being interrupted. Also when you die while under the effects of the berserk buff, the effects end and the buff goes on cooldown.

    Equipment Buffs

Equipment Buffs will make your weapons much more effective in battle when you combine them together into a much more powerful weapon. These Buffs can range from giving your weapons an ability to make them more useful or to give them more ways of being effective in most situations overall.

    Double Projectile

    Description:
You will throw 2 pipe bomb and vomit jar projectiles instead of one.

    Positives
+ You can throw double the normal amount of pipe bomb and vomit jar projectiles instead of one
+ Can be combined with other throwable related Buffs to make using Molotovs/Pipe bombs and Vomit Jars more useful
+ Good Equipment Buff to equip on some Buff Sets

    Negatives
    - The Buff Effect won't work with molotovs
    - Depending on your Buff Set, can be swapped out for more Useful Buffs if you are Buff Set isn't based around throwables.

    Explanation
You can have double the explosions, double the gas and double the damage. This also means increased damage and increased range with the Double Projectile Buff because it lets you have two pipe bomb and vomit jar projectiles thrown instead of one. You can combine this buff with other useful throwable related Buffs to make using throwables a more worthwhile play style. It is also a Good Equipment Buff to be using on some Buff Sets if you prefer a throwables play style. If you don't though this Buff can be swapped out for more useful buffs. The buff effect is known to not work with Molotovs.

    Knife

    Description:
Gives you a knife that can be used to release yourself from an SI attack once. You can use your knife after 1 second of being trapped using the ZOOM button.

    Positives
+ You can free yourself from trapping infected that attacked you and instantly kill them, depending on the type of knife used.
+ You can equip the Knife Bag Equipment Buff and the |E| Knife Recycle Utility Buff on your Buff Set to help you survive another attack when you get trapped again by special infected.
+ Best ESSENTIAL Buff to have equipped at all times!

    Negatives
    - The Knife Buff can be countered by the Knife Deflection Buff in Versus if timed right.
    - You only have a limited number of Knife uses against the special infected, be careful when you use them and use them wisely.

    Explanation
The Knife Buff is one of the most ESSENTIAL Buffs to have equipped at all times, when playing mgftw! It would be quite dumb enough for someone to have it equipped and its crucial low level players get the Knife Buff ASAP when they join mgftw for the first time. You can use it to free yourself from trapping infected that attacked you and instantly kill the attacking infected, depending on the knife used. You can also use this buff alongside the Knife Bag Equipment Buff and the |E| Knife Recycle Utility Buffs to make your survival more guaranteed on COOP. However you must watch out for the fact that you only have a limited number of knife uses, so use your knives wisely before they run out. They can also be countered if the attacking special infected times it right in the DEFLECTIVE STANCE while having the Knife Deflection Buff equipped on Versus.

    Hidden Magnum

    Description:
When incapacitated, a Magnum is given instead of a pistol.

    Positives
+ Your Pistols are replaced with a Magnum, which is better when you go down while holding a melee weapon, rather than a pistol.
+ Much better chance of surviving while incapacitated when infected can be killed easily using Magnum.

    Negatives
    - Not the best Equipment Buff out there, it can be replaced by other Good Buffs in Some Buff Sets, also due to its one only use.

    Explanation
When your incapacitated, you would want to survive better, rather then go out dying. Thats where the Hidden Magnum Buff comes in. It will give you a Magnum which is alot better while incapacitated than other weapons in the same state. It also means you have an increased chance of surviving where you can kill infected easily. It isn't exactly the best Equipment Buff out there though since it can be replaced by other good and useful Buffs in Some Buff Sets due to its low uses.

    Grenade Trap

    Description:
You can setup traps for the infected on the floor using your throwable. Aim the floor while crouching and hit the Melee Button (Right Click) in order to set up the trap. Limitation: You can only leave up to 3 traps at the same time and can only create 3 traps of each type per round.

    Positives
+ You can foil the infected's plan to kill you all by setting up traps on the floor using your throwable, they can only be activated by infected.
+ You can setup more than 1 trap on the floor, regardless of the type of throwable, up to 3 traps of each type per round.

    Negatives
    - The traps do not have the feature of automatically activating after a set amount of time or activating when your too far away unlike other kinds of Buffs, be careful where you place the traps!
    - You can only leave up to 3 traps on the floor at the same time and cannot put anymore down till traps activate.

    Explanation
Need some help to foil the infected's plans before they are used to kill you and your team? Use the Grenade Trap Buff to setup throwable traps on the floor that can be activated when infected are near them. You can also setup more than 1 trap on the floor, regardless of the type of throwable, up to 3 of each type of throwable can be set as traps per round. Two bad things to note are that this Buff has the lack of auto-activating traps (timing them to activate) or distance activating traps which make it easy for the infected to notice that. You can also leave only up to 3 traps on the floor at the same time and cannot place anymore down until they are activated.

    Cheap Goggles

    Description:
Protects your eyes from mud and blood. Bile will still leave you blind.

    Positives
+ You can protect your eyes from mud and blood.

    Negatives
    - One of the most Least Useful Buffs in MGftw
    - Can be swapped out for the Goggles buff which also includes the effects of this Buff
    - This Buff doesn't protect you from Vomit Bile blindness

    Explanation
You don't like swamps/getting blood in your eyes? Get yourself the Cheap Goggles Buff, it'll protect you from mud and blood. The Vomit Bile however will still leave you blind when it affects you. This Buff is also one of the least useful ones in MGftw and it can be swapped out for the Goggles Buff as a more powerful variant because it also includes the effects of this Buff.

FACT from »SoD« XeroX [TB] about this buff: cheap goggles is kinda auto included in the german no violence version of l4d2. Not sure about mud but i think its not there either.

    Heat Missile

    Description:
Installs a powerful digital device that allows your grenade launcher's projectile to chase the special infected by analyzing their internal heat. The weight of the device will reduce your base speed by 20% while its equipped.
    <Not recommended for versus>

    Positives
+ Your Grenade Launchers chase any special infected, including tanks and can do direct hits more easily.
+ Can be combined with other Grenade Launcher Buffs to make using Grenade Launchers worth it.

    Negatives
    - Ice Shield Clan Buff stops the effect of the Heat Missile Buff, making it useless on versus.
    - Good if your using Grenade Launchers, but when using any other weapon it isn't thanks to the small speed reduction.

    Explanation
When you need your Grenade Launchers to be able to kill runaway Special Infected or ones in hiding, use the Heat Missile Buff. Its heat tracking properties allow it to track and direct hit any Special Infected including all tanks. It also can be combined with other Grenade Launcher Equipment Buffs to make using the weapon a more useful asset against the infected. If the Ice Shield Clan Buff is active however, it stops the heat missile Buff effect from working on versus while still giving you the speed reduction. While the Buff may be good for only Grenade Launchers it isn't good for any other weapon at all.

    Floral Grenade Launch

    Description:
Fires 10 additional projectiles on your first grenade launcher shot. These projectiles override the Ice Shield clan buff and are deadly against any infected. In COOP: Causes your Grenade Launcher to be unusable for 10 seconds.

    Positives:
+ 10 additional projectiles are launched on your first grenade launcher shot.
+ Projectiles override the Ice Shield clan buff, very deadly against all special infected but the tank
+ Can be combined with other Grenade Launcher Buffs to make using Grenade Launchers worth it.

    Negatives:
    - Can only be used once per grenade launcher (or once per round)

    Explanation:
If you want a powerful shot on your first grenade launcher attack, use the Floral Grenade Launch Buff to launch 10 additional projectiles at infected. They deal massive damage to the special infected and can override their Ice Shield clan buffs. It can also be combined with other Grenade Launcher Equipment Buffs to make using the weapon a good thing. Beware it can only be used once per grenade launcher so time it right, and use it for the right moment at the right time!

    Goggles

    Description:
You will obtain goggles that will protect you from bile. This buff includes the "Cheap Goggles" buff effect.

    Positives:
+ Goggles that protect you from the vomit bile. a very useful thing to have!
+ The Buff also includes the "Cheap Goggles" buff effect.
+ One of the best ESSENTIAL high level Buffs in the Equipment Buff Set

    Negatives:
    - Nothing Really

Explanation: You want the ultimate and the most expensive goggles that you can get out there in MGftw right? Go for the Goggles Buff! They now protect you from the vomit bile effect from boomers while also including the Cheap Goggles Buff effect. It is a MUST HAVE ESSENTIAL Buff on the Equipment Buff Set. Although it won't protect your vision from experiencing crazy things that happen on your screen xD.

    Seeking Grenade

    Description:
Allows your pipe bomb to seek for special infected. The grenade will take 10 more seconds than usual to detonate but will deal 300HP flat damage (Upgrade, skills and buffs will not affect the damage), plus 50HP multiplied by the amount of common infected killed between the time it is thrown and the time it detonates.
    <Incompatible with Frag Grenade buff>
<Not affected by Extra Powder buff>

    Positives:
+ Allows your pipe bomb to deal alot of damage for each Common Infected you kill while the pipe bomb is thrown.
+ Flat Damage ignores the effects of tank defenses (including from abilities unless that ability blocks damage from said source) as well as upgrades/skills/buffs.
+ Useful Equipment Buff depending on how you want your pipe bombs thrown. Can still be combined with the Freezing Grenade Equipment Buff to make the buff more effective.

    Negatives
    - Incompatible with Frag Grenade Buff, it won't work, simply put.
    - Won't be affected by the Extra Powder Buff.

    Explanation:
Don't like having to have short detonation bombs or don't like frag grenade pipe bombs? the Seeking Grenade Buff has you covered! at the cost of 10 seconds longer arm time it deals massive damage to infected caught in the blast. You can add damage to the actual number dealt to infected by killing CI's which increase the pipe bomb damage by small amounts at a time before it explodes. The fact that this buff can deal Flat Damage means that it ignores the effect of tank defenses including those from abilities (only the ones that block explosive damage reduce damage to 0 as stated). This also applies to ignoring the effect of upgrades/skills/buffs. It is a useful piece of Equipment Buff to have with you depending on how you want to throw your pipe bombs, yet you can also combine it with the Freezing Grenade Equipment Buff to make this buff effective. Keep in mind that when you use the Extra Powder Buff that you watch out for this buff not being affected by it. It is also incompatible with the Frag Grenade Buff, it just won't work.

    Chainsaw Dumbass

    Description:
Refills your chainsaw fuel by 5% of the maximum capacity on each common infected kill. Refills by 20% for each special infected kill.

    Positives:
+ Your Chainsaw Fuel can actually be refilled instead of the melee weapon being wasted. Making chainsaws a better reliable weapon.
+ Your Chainsaw Fuel gets refilled more if you kill Special Infected.

    Negatives:
    - If your chainsaw runs out of Chainsaw Fuel, the buff won't work anymore until you get a new chainsaw. making it useless without one.

    Explanation:
RRRRR. RRRR. RRRRGGGHHHHH!!! Here comes the Chainsaw Dumbass Buff at your service! You can now actually refill up your chainsaws by killing infected, rather than letting it go to waste. Just remember that if the chainsaw runs out of Chainsaw Fuel, the buff is considered useless as it won't work without a chainsaw.

    Health Dispenser

    Description:
Allows you to place a special device on the floor using your medikit that will heal nearby survivors by 30HP + 1% Max Health per second it will also cure them from any bad status conditions and trigger Moustachio Bless for 5 seconds when it is deployed.
<Coop only, once per round, 14 seconds battery time>

    Positives
+ Health Regeneration while you are in range of the special device on the floor
+ All bad status conditions are cured per second if you had any. Can potentially save you from a frozen death from Freezing Tank
+ The Buff gives people within range immediate Moustachio Bless for 5 seconds when it is deployed.
+ One of the Best Healer's Buffs in MGftw

    Negatives
    - The Buff can only be activated once per round and has a 14 second battery time. Use it wisely and when required to save yourself at needed points.

    Explanation
Wow! I feel so refreshed already. The Health Dispenser Buff does give you that reaction by giving you Health Regeneration, clearing bad status effects and moustachio bless for a small amount of time. That's why its considered to be one of the best Healer's Buffs in MGftw of all the Healer's Buffs in the Healer's Buff Set. It only can be activated once per round for 14 seconds, so use it wisely! also use it at the most appropriate time when people need saving! it really helps to do just that.

    Knife Bag

    Description:
Gives you a bag that allows you to carry an additional knife
    <Coop Only>

    Positives
+ You get to carry an additional knife on top of your current amount of knives.
+ A good Equipment Buff to be equipped in the Defensive Buff Set.
+ Can be combined with the |E| Knife Recycle Buff to make your live easier against smokers.

    Negatives
    - The Knife Buff must be equipped in order for the Knife Bag Buff to work. Useless without it.

    Explanation:
Why can i only have a max of two knives? or wait there's a third one lying around somewhere... well that's the Knife Bag Buff people are talking about. With this Buff you can get yourself 1 additional knife on top of the current amount of knives you have. It's considered a good Equipment Buff to have equipped on the Defensive Buff Set for when you need more survival. Add the |E| Knife Recycle Buff as well to that Buff Set and you will have better luck surviving against smokers. Yet in order to take full effect of the Knife Bag Buff, you must have the Knife Buff equipped in order for the buff to work.

    Frag Grenade

    Description:
Your pipebomb will instantly detonate upon collision.
    <Incompatible with Sticky Grenade buff>

    Positives
+ You can instantly detonate pipe bombs upon collision with anything, without waiting for it to detonate
+ Can be combined with other throwable Buffs that can work together to achieve a powerful pipe bomb blast.

    Negatives
    - Incompatible with the Sticky Grenade Buff. It won't work.

    Explanation
Can a pipe bomb act as a grenade? Yes it can with the Frag Grenade buff. it makes it so that pipe bombs will now instantly explode on collision with anything anywhere. It can also be combined with other throwable Buffs to make for one powerful pipe bomb that can be thrown to cause a bomb blast attack. The Buff won't work with the Sticky Grenade Buff though so remember that.

    Advanced Grenade Launcher

    Description:
Allows you to shoot 5 grenades with the grenade launcher before needing to reload. As a result, your reload speed with the Grenade Launcher is slowed by 225% (before modifiers).
    <Coop Only>

    Positives
+ Your clip size for the Grenade Launcher is increased, allowing you to shoot more than 1 Grenade Launcher projectile.
+ Works well with other Grenade Launcher Equipment Buffs to make the Grenade Launcher a powerful explosive weapon.

    Negatives
    - Immensely reduced reload speed with the Grenade Launcher.

    Explanation:
The Advanced Grenade Launcher Buff is exactly a clip size upgrade that increases the amount of projectiles that your Grenade Launcher can hold. Combining this Buff with other useful Grenade Launcher Buffs will make the Grenade Launcher more powerful in battle and increase its effectiveness versus the infected. However, in order to make use of this buff effectively VS special infected and the tanks you are going to need to watch out for when it is the right moment to be reloading your grenade launcher since you will experience a far longer reloading time than normal while having this buff equipped.

    M60 Dumbass

    Description:
Restores 2 bullets per common infected killed and 8 per special infected killed to the m60 machine gun
    <Coop Only>

    Positives
+ Your M60 rifle can now replenish ammo.
+ The amount of ammo refilled is increased if you kill any Special Infected

    Negatives
    - Not the best Equipment Buff because of its 1 weapon use buff, making it less useful in some Buff Sets where it can be swapped out.
    - You can only gain the effects of the Buff with the M60 Rifle. Nothing else will achieve it.

    Explanation:
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! eh its the sound of the M60, need ammo? No problem, the M60 Dumbass Buff has it sorted out. It will restore ammo to the M60 machine gun for each infected killed with more being restored for Special Infected kills rather than Common Infected kills. It's less useful in Buff Sets where the weapon used isn't the M60 and because of the Buff's one use. You also only gain the effects of the buff if you kill the infected using the M60 rifle. Nothing else can achieve it.

    Compressed Shell

    Description:
Reloading one shell with any shotgun will fully reload it. The immense weight of the compressed shell will disable your reload speed upgrade and will double your reload time.

    Positives
+ You can now fully reload your shotgun after reloading just 1 shell.
+ Extremely useful with the Piercing Bullets Buff and other Offensive Buffs for when your using the shotgun.
+ One of the Best Equipment Buffs in MGftw

    Negatives
    - Your reload speed upgrade is disabled and your reload time with shotguns is doubled.
    - The Buff will only work with shotguns. useless with all other weapons.

    Explanation:
You just love using shotguns just like the admins? OF CAUSE YOU DO, no doubt about it. The Compressed Shell Buff lets you reload just 1 shell and have it turn into a fully reloaded shotgun. This feature makes the shotgun extremely useful with the Piercing Bullets Buff and other Offensive Buffs. That's why it's one of the best Equipment Buffs in MGftw. Just remember that your reload speed upgrade is disabled, with your reload speed doubled with shotguns. Since this Buff is also only for shotguns, it's useless with all other weapons.

    - Only 3 Special Infected can be affected in Versus with the Buff effect.

    Explanation:
The Dense Vomit Cloud Buff allows the vomit jar projectile thrown to emit a vomit cloud at the point of impact. This vomit cloud will continuously bile infected that pass through it until the vomit cloud wears off. It's a good buff to be using if you like to use throwables as a playstyle Buff Set. This Buff can be swapped out however if you prefer other Buff Sets like the ones with the pipe bomb Buffs. Also only 3 special infected can be affected by the effect of the Buff in Versus.

You can give yourself permanent health back as well as giving yourself temporary health gained from eating pills. Another good feature is that even after you reach the maximum amount of temporary health, you can still take pills to give yourself permanent health back. That's why the Buff is considered to be a good Healer's Buff for when you want to keep your health high at all times under a non-tenacity or Mindset Change Buff Set. The temporary health from these pills eaten will still wear off as normal though.

    Freezing Grenade

    Description:
Exchanges your pipe bombs for freezing bombs. infected caught in the explosion will become frozen or suffer speed reduction depending on how close they were to the explosion.
    <Freeze duration: 10 seconds (3 for tanks)>
    <You can't freeze ice tanks>

    Positives
+ Infected caught in the explosion will become frozen or suffer a speed reduction depending on how close they were to the explosion.
+ Special Infected can be frozen for a longer period of time over compared to tanks short period of time spent being frozen.
+ A good Equipment Buff if you want to combine it with the other pipe bomb Buffs to make your pipe bombs very deadly to infected.

    Negatives
    - The Freezing Grenade can't affect Ice Tanks at all.

    Explanation:
You wanna blow and freeze stuff up? Let the Freezing Grenade Buff ka-boom! the enemies for you. The infected that get caught in the explosion get frozen or suffer a speed reduction depending on their distance to the point of impact. A Special Infected is not able to resist the effects of the freezing bad status effect and thus will be frozen for a long period of time compared to the high resistance that tanks have against being frozen, allowing these tanks to only be frozen for a short amount of time. It's a good Equipment Buff if your looking to combine it with other pipe bomb buffs to make your pipe bombs deadly against the infected. Just remember that you can't affect Ice Tanks in any way with the Freezing Grenade Buff effects.

    |E| Healing pipe bombs

    Description:
Your pipe bombs heal nearby survivors by 15% of their maximum health upon detonation.

    Positives
+ You can now heal nearby survivors by using pipe bombs that heal upon exploding.
+ When combining the Buff with the Frag Grenade Buff, these pipe bombs are way more effective in battle.
+ Good Healer's Buff if you want another way to heal rather than just your health items.

    Negatives
    - Bad idea to equip the Healing pipe bombs buff with the Seeking Grenade Buff, its not recommended.

    Explanation:
No Medikit/Defibrillator or Pills/adrenaline? No problem, just use a pipe bomb. The Healing pipe bombs Buff will now let you heal nearby survivors within range of the point of explosion for a small amount of their maximum HP. It's a really effective buff when you combine it with the Frag Grenade Buff. Therefore it's considered to be a good Healer's Buff for when you need another way to heal with your items. Just remember that putting on the Seeking Grenade Buff is a bad idea as the buff effect doesn't work on infected and it wont have any effect on further away survivors.

    Unstoppable

    Description:
Gives you a modified bulletproof vest and body parts that will make you immune to infected CC abilities. The weight of the equipment will reduce your movement speed by 25%, as well as halving your damage and benefits from Fast Reload and Quick Switch upgrades.
<Does not work if you are incapacitated>
    <Can't block bitch slap>
    <Coop only>

    Positives
+ Full immunity to most Crowd Control abilities of the infected.

    Negatives
    - Small Reduction in Movement Speed.
    - Large Reduction in Damage Dealt to infected.
    - Fast Reload and Quick Switch upgrade benefits are halved.
    - The effect of the buff won't work if your incapacitated
    - Bitch slaps cannot be blocked.

    Explanation:
HAHAHAHA!!! NOTHING CAN TAKE ME DOWN NOW. The Unstoppable Buff allows you to make fighting against the infected much easier. With immunity to CC abilities you won't have to ever worry about ever using a knife buff ever again on those pesky and once annoying special infected. However, it'll make you take longer to get to places by reducing your movement speed and makes it harder for you to pass through those infected with largely reduced damage against them. Not only that, you might take longer to take down special infected, making it easier for them to get in there and damage you while your effectiveness with reloading and switching weapons is reduced. The effect disappears if your incapacitated though, making it easy for you to be attacked by special infected. Also, you cannot block the power of the bitch slaps from boomers, so if you think your safe from all karmas. think again!

    Utility Buffs

Utility Buffs give you a way to increase your own survival with a small boost in your chances or to give your team the upper hand against an incoming horde. Some of them are movement speed buffs which can make you outrun the horde faster and get to one place from another much faster than normal.

    Adrenaline Run

    Description:
Gives you infinite adrenaline effect while your team fights tanks.

    Positives:
+ You get to run moderately faster than normal while fighting tanks.

    Negatives:
    - You don't get an additional speed increase if using the Speedy Water Buff while fighting tanks.**
    - The Buff effect disappears if your not fighting tanks anymore.
    - Can be swapped out for other useful buffs in some Buff Sets.

    Explanation:
How do i at least run at close to some tank's speed? The Adrenaline Run Buff will be sure to give you an adrenaline rush while fighting tanks. Just remember that you don't get the additional speed increase if your using the Speedy Water Buff while fighting tanks. You won't be able to get the effects of the Buff if the tank is dead or your not fighting tanks at the moment. This Buff can be swapped out for other useful buffs in some Buff Sets because of its less importance.

    Death Bait

    Description:
When you die, all common infected will stay eating your body, giving your teammates a chance to escape.
    <Body is not consumed>

    Positives
+ The aggro of common infected can't be directed to other players for a short time.
+ Your body isn't consumed while the common infected stay to eat it

    Negatives
    - Any Vomit Jar projectiles thrown will not alert the horde to the vomit cloud until after the Death Bait Buff effect wears off.
    - If the Vomit Jar projectile is thrown onto all infected eating your body, vomit biling them will result in the Buff effect being overrided by the effects of the vomit jar bile.
    - This Buff can be swapped out to other useful Utility Buffs.

    Explanation:
OH NO! I'm DEAD.... *Dies*. Oh wait, I got a Death Bait Buff. This Buff can aggro the common infected to stay with you instead of going off to target other survivors for a short time. Your body won't be consumed in the process if the common infected stay to eat your body. However if a vomit jar projectile is thrown while the buff effect is still active, it will not alert the horde to the vomit cloud until after the Death Bait Buff effect has expired. Directly vomit biling the common infected however will override the Buff effect, causing the vomit jar bile to take effect instead. Also because this Buff is in general a less useful Buff, it can be swapped out for other useful Utility Buffs.

    Speedy Water

    Description:
Instead of reducing your speed in the water, it will increase.

    Positives
+ Your speed increases moderately while running in water and is no longer reduced.
+ An essential Buff for the low levels.

    Negatives
    - If you used an adrenaline shot before entering any water body and the adrenaline effect expires before you go out, the Speedy Water Buff effect won't activate itself automatically again.
    - You don't get an additional speed increase if your fighting tanks in the water while using the Adrenaline Run Buff.**
    - The Buff effect disappears if you exit the water body.
    - Can be swapped out for other useful buffs in some Buff Sets.

    Explanation:
The Speedy Water buff allows you to run more quicker than normal through the rainy areas of the Hard Rain campaigns. It is considered to be an essential buff for the low levels due to it giving high survivability to them. If at anytime you used an adrenaline shot before entering the water body, the Speedy Water Buff effect won't auto activate itself once the effect of the adrenaline shot expires. You also don't get an additional speed increase if your fighting tanks in the water while using the Adrenaline Run Buff. The Buff effect of Speedy Water will disappear if at anytime you exit the water body, returning your speed to normal. Therefore the large number of negatives out weigh the positives meaning its usefuless is alot less than other buffs in most Buff Sets. With the exception of the low level players using it.

    Fall of Faith

    Description:
Allows you to release from any ledge (while hanging) by pressing the WALK button (Shift).

    Positives
+ You can release yourself from any ledge while hanging

    Negatives
    - Letting go in the wrong place at the wrong time can lead to your death. be cautious!
    - Low usefulness buff due to its only use.

    Explanation:
The Fall of Faith Buff allows you to release yourself from any ledge while hanging from it. Be cautious about it though as doing it in the wrong location at thte wrong time will lead to your death. Therefore it has a low usefulness and can be swapped out for more useful Utility Buffs.

    Witch Peacemaker

    Description:
You will not startle witches unless you shoot at them. If somebody startles the witch, it'll still hunt you down.

    Positives
+ You can now walk near where the witch is and not have to worry about aggro on you, unless you shoot her.

    Negatives
    - If someone startles the witch, this buff won't prevent the witch from aggroing on you.
    - This Utility Buff can be swapped out for better buffs in the Utility Buff Set due to its low uses.

    Explanations
How you sneak near a witch without alerting her to your presence? Use the Witch Peacemaker Buff. It allows you to not startle witches when you walk near them and not have to worry about the witch's aggro on you unless you shoot her. Now if someone does startle the witch it will still hunt you down as normal. Therefore this Utility Buff can be swapped out for better buffs in the Utility Buff Set due to its low uses.

    Special First Aid

    Description:
Instantly cures any bad status (poison, curse, paralyze, etc) of you and any nearby teammates upon using a first aid kit.

    Positives
+ Very Useful Healer's Buff for when you need to give help to players in trouble in a pinch
+ All Bad Status Effects can be cured no matter what.

    Negatives
    - Nothing Really

    Explanations
The Special First Aid Buff is a very useful Healer's Buff for when you need to give help to survivors suffering from any bad status effects. Not only do you get rid of the bad status effect when you heal them, they also get their HP, incapactiation counts back and get moustachio bless for a moderate amount of time to prevent most bad status effects from being inflicted on the survivor again. Every bad status effect can be cured, including the ones seen from the witch and tanks.

    Wisdom Preach

    Description:
With your wonderful advices, survivors on your team that are lower level than you (Max: Lv.85) will receive 3% (1% in versus) less damage from the infected and 0.5% more speed.
<Effect stacks with other players with this buff>

    Positives:
+ Players that are lower level than you get a slight increase in defense and movement speed, stacks with other players with the same equipped Buff.

    Negatives:
    - The Buff effect only affects lower level players, no effect on any player above level 85. Therefore making the buff useless
    - One of the least useful Utility Buffs, can be swapped out for better Utility Buffs in the Utility Buff Set

    Explanations:
The Wisdom Preach Buff helps the low level players by giving them damage reduction from the infected and more movement speed. These stats can be stacked up per player that also has this Buff equipped. Since this buff only affects the low level players, there is zero effect on other players above level 85, making the Buff entirely useless. It is also therefore one of the least useful Utility Buffs out there that can be swapped for better Utility Buffs from the Utility Buff Set.

    Cooling Down

    Description:
Machine guns used by you will never overheat.

    Positives
+ Left 4 Dead 2 Machine Guns used by yourself will never overheat

    Negatives
    - One of the more least useful Buffs thanks to its low use.
    - Can be swapped out for more useful buffs in Most Buff Sets

    Explanation:
The Cooling Down Buff makes it so that you can use the Left 4 Dead 2 Machine Guns without it ever overheating. This is good for tanking players who want to tank tanks where there are L4D2 miniguns in finales. However it is also one of the more least useful Buffs thanks to its low number of uses. It can also be swapped out for more useful Utility Buffs in Most Buff Sets.

    |E| General Shield (Expires)

    Description:
Shields yourself from every status including mutation, poison, curse, clot bacteria, internal bleeding and others.

    Positives
+ You will never be inflicted by any bad status effect for 14 days!
+ One of the more useful Utility buffs due to its effect. Can replace the Mutation, Poison Shield Buffs if you have them.

    Negatives
    - Shorter duration than normal for this expiring buff compared to others

    Explanation
Hate being inflicted by poison, paralyze, mutation, clot bacteria, internal bleeding, intense bleeding, corrosion, curse, blind, biological bomb, irradiation or any of the buff effects? all bad status effects are blocked for 14 days. The effects of the buff make it one of the more useful Utility buffs which can replace thee Mutation and Poison Shield Buffs if you have them, effectively saving a single buff slot. You only get the effects for about less than half the normal duration of a Mutation or Poison Shield Buff so remember the date of expiration 14 days from when you buy it.

    |E| Knife Recycle

    Description:
Knives used to release from smokers will be kept
    <Works only once in versus>

    Positives
+ You can use an infinite number of knives on smokers on COOP and never run dry!
+ One of the Best Utility Buffs to be using in Most Buff Sets
+ Cannot be countered by Knife Deflection since smokers can't use it if smoking from far away and not directly.

    Negatives
    - The Buff effect only works once in versus, make sure you knife the smoker trapping you when needed and at the right time and moment.

    Explanation:
Hate being grabbed by smokers all the time? Now you can solve that problem once and for all permanently. Use the Knife Recycle Buff on your Buff Sets and your problem is solved. The Buff will let you use knife after knife on every smoker that traps you and you will never use any knifes at all. The Buff cannot be countered by the Knife Deflection Buff since most of the time the smoker that grabs you will do it from mostly moderate to far away range. That's why its considered to be one of the best Utility Buffs to be using in Most Buff Sets where it can be combined with the Knife and the Knife Bag Buff. The downside is that the Buff effect will only work once in versus, use your knife carefully then against the smoker trapping you and only do it when needed, at the right time and moment.

    Grabbed Panic

    Description:
Desperately trying to stop the pull, you will decrease the pulling speed by 50%. The speed decrease will rapidly decay over 5 seconds.

    Positives
+ Useful Buff for Versus for when smokers try to pull you far away from teammates, giving them 5 seconds to try and save you.

    Negatives
    - The Smoker's move speed while pulling isn't slowed down at all.

    Explanation:
*Smoker Snipes You*. Ahhhhh, Help me!. The Grabbed Panic Buff is there to make sure you don't get pulled away from your friends quickly by decreasing the pulling speed of the smoker for a few short seconds. It is a nice and useful Buff to have in Versus when you can not get enough of too many smokers. The thing to note with this buff is that the Smoker's move speed while pulling is not slowed. Watch out for that.

    |E| Bullet Scavenger

    Description:
Gives you 1 bullet per second if you are moving
    <Does not work if incapacitated>

    Positives
+ You get 1 bullet per second if you are moving on your primary weapons
+ Combining the Bullet Scavenger Buff with the M60 Dumbass Buff makes using the M60 more useful.

    Negatives
    - The Buff effect won't work if you are incapacitated.
    - The Buff effect itself is less effective than the Bonus Toaster effect.
    - The Buff isn't useful with all other weapons where you would have other easier ways to give yourself more ammo to survive.

    Explanation:
No.... Out of bullets. Where's my ammo at? Oh wait, the Bullet Scavenger already gave me some... The Buff gives you bullets overtime while you are not incapacitated and it won't work when you are. While you can make the M60 useful by combining the M60 Dumbass Buff with the Bullet Scavenger Buff, the Buff effect of Bullet Scavenger is less effective at giving you ammo rather than the Bonus Toaster effect that can do the same thing but give more. Therefore the Buff isn't useful at all with all other weapons where you would otherwise have much easier ways to give yourself more ammo to survive.

    Caretaker

    Description:
You exchange some of your firepower to take care of your hurt teammates. Teammates around you will heal by 1HP each 3 seconds in exchange of doing 10% less damage to the infected.
<Health Regeneration effect stacks with other players who have this buff active>*

    Positives
+ Your teammates get a small amount of health regeneration every few seconds
+ The health regeneration effect can be stacked up to an increased amount of health regeneration over the same amount of seconds.

    - You deal slightly reduced damage with all sources against the infected.
    - You and all other survivors who have the buff currently active must be nearby in order for the effect to work.

    Explanation:
Hey timkit, can I have help over here please? Timkit: Sure thing :D. The Caretaker Buff lets you take care of your teammates by giving all of your teammates a small amount of health regeneration every few seconds. The health regeneration effect of this buff can stack with other teammates who have this buff active up to an increased amount of health regeneration over the same amount of seconds, the more heal you can do, the better your survival chances. Don't forget that in order to help out your teammates your sacrificing a bit of your fire power to help those in need. If you do want to take care of those teammates by giving them health regeneration, be sure to stay close to them!

  3. Economy And Exp Buffs

    Negotiator

    Description:
Bounty cost will be reduced by 25% and the price of the first 3 health items won't rise.

    Positives
+ Massive Reduction in Bounty Cost Increase after using !buy to buy a healing item.
+ Bounty Cost is reduced by 25% giving you more free bounty to spend it on elsewhere.
+ One of the Best Essential Other Buffs in just about ALL Buff Sets.

    Negatives
    - Nothing really.

    Explanation:
Do you hate having the items in the !buy menu doubling in Bounty Cost every time you bought an item? Well no matter, the Negotiator Buff makes sure the items only rise by 1 bounty every time you buy a healing item from the !buy menu. You will also get a 25% reduction in the original bounty cost of any item before you first buy it. It's a really good and the best essential buff in just about ALL Buff Sets the Buff can be equipped to.

    Survival Payment

    Description:
Gives you 1 bounty every 2 minutes after leaving the saferoom.

    Positives
+ You gain 1 bounty after a long wait time after you leave the starting SR in any chapter.

    Negatives
    - Not the best buff to be equipping in Buff Sets, especially if you are a Special Infected killer.
    - Takes some time before you notice a small increase in bounty

    Explanation:
The Survival Payment Buff will give you 1 bounty after a long wait time after you leave the starting Saferoom in any chapter. Because of that effect, the Buff isn't the best thing to be equipping in Buff Sets, especially ones where you are Offensive based. It may also take a while too before you start to notice an increase in your bounty.

    Peanut Blessing

    Description:
Increases by 165% your bounty gain rate after using your first aid kit (Effect lasts while Moustachio does).

    Positives
+ Massive Increase in bounty gain rate after using your first aid kit for up to a large amount of time.

    Negatives
    - Not the most useful Buff to have if you have a Buff Set that doesn't require the use of a lot of bounty.

    Explanation:
When you heal yourself to get the Moustachio Bless, you will also get the Peanut Bless as a result from the use of the Peanut Blessing Buff. It massively increases your bounty gain by a large amount until the effect of the Moustachio Bless wears off. Just remember that it isn't the most useful buff to have if you have a Buff Set that doesn't require the use of a lot of bounty.

    Rich but Lonely

    Description:
Increases your bounty earn rate by 500% if you are the only survivor left
<increases defibrillator price by 40 bounty if the effect of the buff is active>

    Positives
+ Your bounty earn rate is immensely increased if you are the only survivor alive.

    Negatives
    - The defibrillator price is increased by a massive amount if the effect of the Buff is active
    - The effect of the Buff is not active if you are not the last survivor left
    - One of the more less useful Other Buffs as a result of the Buff effect.

    Explanation:
Your the only survivor left... and want to survive, but also want to bring survivors back from the dead. Use the Rich but Lonely Buff. While it lets you earn a very large amount of bounty from doing everything you can to survive because of the large bounty gain, the defibrillator price also is increased by a massive amount only when the effect of the buff is active. Not only that the effect of the Buff can't be active if you are not the last survivor left. It is also a less useful Buff to have around overall when your Buff Set isn't focusing on bounty gain.

    Big Check

    Description:
Increases by 20% the cash, pill and experience rewards from completing quests
<Buff must be equipped at the start of the round (before someone leaves the saferoom)>

    Positives
+ Increased rewards from completing quests

    Negatives
    - Buff must be equipped at the start of the current round before someone leaves the saferoom, in order to get the Big Check Buff Check working.
    - The Buff is useless when you don't have any finished quests to get done at all in ALL Buff Sets.

    Explanation:
Want a way to earn additional awards from completing quests? The Big Check Buff lets you do just that. Yet you must have the Buff equipped at the start of the round before someone leaves the beginning Saferoom. The Buff is considered to be useless if you don't have any finished quests to complete, so use the Buff at the appropriate time when its really needed.

    |E| Testament

    Description:
After dying, you will lose all your bounty and transfer 10% of it to each alive survivor.

    Positives
+ When you die, you will lose all of your bounty and transfer 10% of it for all survivors alive.
+ More useful in versus because all survivors will get your bounty instead of random survivors getting it in COOP
+ Good Other Buff to have in Buff Sets where you are using a non-tenacity or non-mindset change Buff Set.

    Negatives
    - Nothing Really

    Explanation:
I write my last will... with the Testament Buff. The Buff makes you lose all your bounty on death and transfers 10% of it to each alive survivor that isn't dead yet. It's more of a useful Buff in versus rather than COOP because the buff won't randomly pick survivors to transfer the bounty to unlike in COOP where it would if more than 10 survivors are alive. It is also a good Other Buff to be having in non-tenacity, non-mindset change Buff Sets where you don't have the Increased Maximum HP.

    Observer

    Description:
You are more observant of the behaviour of the infected, causing you to learn more about them faster. You obtain x10 experience from killing common and special infected.

    Positives
+ You obtain an immense amount of increased experience from killing Common and Special Infected. (not including tanks)

    Negatives
    - The buff is considered to be useless when you can no longer earn experience.

    Explanation:
The Observer Buff allows you to obtain an immensely increased amount of experience points from Common and Special Infected, making it easier for you to level up. However, the buff itself can be considered useless once you can no longer earn experience points.

    Other Buffs

    Moribund Farming

    Description:
Increases exp and cash gain rates by 70% when remaining health (permanent + temporary) is equal to 1HP. It also increases incapacitated rates by 20%.

    Positives
+ Your Cash and Exp rates are increased by a large amount when your health is exactly 1HP.

    Negatives
    - One of the most useless Other Buffs. Can be swapped out for better and more useful Other Buffs in the Other Buff Set.
    - Incapacitated rates are increased by a small amount

    Explanation:
The Moribund Farming allows you to gain additional experience and cash when your health is very low. Because of that though, it is considered to be the most useless Other Buff and it can be swapped out for better and more useful Other Buffs in the Other Buff Set. Also having an increase in Incapacitated rates is bad news to deal with.

    High Reputation

    Description:
Increases reputation gain rate and reduces reputation loss rate by 30% Additionally, the first major reputation gain and first major reputation loss per round will be doubled and nullified respectively.
    <Major reputation gain/loss being larger than +/- 3>
<Does NOT nullify actions that directly kill a teammate>

    Positives
+ Your Reputation gain rate is increased while your reputation loss rate is reduced.
+ First major reputation gain and first major reputation loss are doubled and nullified respectively

    Negatives
    - Actions that directly kill a teammate are NOT nullified
    - Not a useful Buff if you are not looking to gain reputation.

    Explanation:
With the High Reputation Buff, your reputation gain rate and your reputation loss rate is increased/reduced by a moderate amount respectively. The first major reputation gain/loss actions are doubled/nullified respectively. Now actions that directly kill a teammate do not get nullified at all. This Buff is considered to be less useful if your not looking to gain reputation at all.

    Finale Dominator

    Description:
On finale maps, each Special Infected you kill grants you a stack of Finale Dominator, up to 15 stacks. Each stack gives you +3% attack, +1% defense, +0.4% movement speed, +0.4% fire rate, +1% reload speed and a 2% chance to save ammunition. You will lose a stack of Finale Dominator if you haven't killed a Special Infected in (25-stacks) seconds, if a Special Infected traps you, or if you get incapacitated. You will also lose all stacks on death.

    Positives
+ Each Special Infected Killed gives you a stackable finale dominator effect, giving you additional attack, defense, movement speed, fire rate, reload speed and a small chance to save ammunition.
+ A really good Other Buff to be combining with All Buff Sets.
+ One of the more useful Other Buffs for when you mostly kill Special Infected other common infected.

    Negatives
    - You will lose a stack of the Finale Dominator Buff effect if you fail to kill a Special Infected in a large amount of time (this time decreases to a short amount of time if you haven't killed a special infected after getting the maximum amount of stacks), getting trapped by special infected, getting incapacitated.
    - You will lose all stacks of the Finale Dominator Buff effect if you die.

    Explanation:
The Finale Dominator Buff lets you kill special infected in exchange for buffs to your attack, defense, movement speed, fire rate, reload speed and a chance to save ammunition. At a maximum these effects are +45% attack, +15% defense, +6% movement speed, +6% fire rate, +15% reload speed and +30% chance to save ammunition. That's why it is the ultimate Other Buff and the best recommended buff to be putting on All Buff Sets. It is also considered to be a useful Buff for when you can kill more special infected over common infected itself. Just remember though, you will lose a stack of the finale dominator effect when you fail to kill a special infected in a large amount of time (the more stacks you have, the less time you get to kill a special infected, 10 seconds at maximum stacks). Two other ways to lose stacks of the Buff is to get trapped by special infected and getting yourself incapacitated. If you die however, all stacks of the Buff are removed.

    |Q| Artisan

    Description:
Multiplies by 3 the total amount of FR-Pills obtained after a successful craft.

    Positives
+ The amount of Fr-Pills you obtain after a successful craft is tripled.

    Negatives
    - The chances of a successful craft isn't changed at all
    - The Buff is useless when you don't have any Fr-Pill crafting to get done in ALL Buff Sets.

    Explanation:
You want to be able to craft more pills in a successful craft right? The Artisan Buff triples the amount of Fr-Pills that you win from successfully crafting them. The only thing is that the chances of a successful craft remain the same and that the Buff is useless when you don't have any Fr-Pill crafting to do in ALL Buff Sets.

    |E| Pet

    Description:
Allows you to spawn a charger pet that will seek and kill enemies. The pet deals 750HP to enemy infected and can only be spawned once per map.
    <Available on !buy>
    <Cooperative servers only>

    Positives
+ You can spawn a Pet Charger from the !buy menu.
+ Pet Charger deals immensely increased damage to all infected per punch.
+ Pet Charger can benefit from the Infected Buff Charger Revenge which will heal it as long as your getting damaged in exchange.
+ You can de-spawn and manually respawn your Pet Charger as long as he isn't dead manually.
+ Useful in all Buff Sets when you need a helping hand, regardless of situation.

    Negatives
    - When your Pet Charger dies, he can no longer be respawned for the rest of the current round.
    - Your Pet Charger has extremely Decreased Maximum HP versus a regular infected charger, but can't die to survivor friendly fire.

    Explanation:
You want the power to be able to call out summons to annihilate enemies on the map. Well you can't really do that, except you can use the Pet Buff to call out your very own Pet Charger from the !buy menu. This Pet Charger is powerful in that it deals immensely more damage than a regular charger can to all infected. It can also benefit from the Infected Buff Charger Revenge which can heal its HP back and above its maximum HP as long as your getting damaged in exchange. You can de-spawn and respawn your Pet Charger at any time as long as he isn't a dead infected. Its the most useful Buff out of all useful Buffs in MGftw for when you need a helping hand, regardless of the situation you are in. Just watch out for the fact that you can no longer respawn your Pet Charger when he dies. The Pet Charger compared to a regular charger has extremely decreased Maximum HP, yet it can't die to survivor friendly fire.

    |E| Love is in the air

    Description:
You can select a fellow teammate in the !buy menu and mark him as your favourite. -25% of the damage taken by your teammate is reduced, but you take 1HP damage each time they are hit. Standing near your teammate will heal you by 1HP each 5 seconds.
    <Effect disappears if you die>
<1HP damage is not applied if the other survivor favorites you too>
    <Coop only>

    Positives
+ One of the best Other Buffs in MGftw because of its defensive and healing uses.
+ Any teammate that you mark as your favorite takes 25% reduced damage, you also take 25% reduced damage if they favorite you too.
+ Any teammate that you mark as your favorite allows you to heal yourself for 1HP every 5 seconds, it also applies to them if they favorite you too.
+ 1HP damage does not apply if you favorite the person who favorites you back.
+ Useful if you need to save a teammate getting attacked by the tank or want him to tank attacks depending on the situation.

    Negatives
    - If the other teammate doesn't favorite you, you take 1HP damage each time they are hit.
    - If you die, the effect of the Buff wears off.

    Explanation:
Ohhhhh, its valentines day with this Buff, who would you like to make love with? if it's with someone, well Love is in the air Buff will apply. This Buff is one of the best Other Buffs in MGftw because of its defensive and healing uses between you and the person you favorite. If you favorite any teammate, not only they take -25% Reduced Damage from all sources, you also heal them for 1HP for every 5 seconds that you are within range of them. If they favorite you too, the same effects also apply back to you and to your favorite respectively. You also don't take 1HP damage per attack if the person you favorite who then favorites you back too. If the other teammate however hates you and does not favorite you, you will take 1HP damage each time they get hit if you favorited them. If you die, the effects of the Buff wear off.

    |E| Cupid's Arrow

    Description:
Dealing damage with a heavy sniper rifle to a special infected will cause it to fall in love with you. The special infected will attack other special infected and protect you. -On Special infected: Lasts 2 minutes and will only be killable by you. -On tanks: Lasts 10 seconds and anyone can deal damage to it.
    <Cooldown: 2 minutes>
<A single infected can only be affected by one arrow in its lifetime>
    <Coop only>

    Positives
+ After dealing damage to special infected with the AWP, you can take control of that special infected to protect you. Special Infected other than the tank can be controlled for up to an extremely large amount of time and can only be killable by you. Tanks can be controlled for a short amount of time.
+ A very useful buff for when you want any uber infected to help you out with battling any tank.
+ A nice support buff to be equipping alongside the Pet Buff since both can help you out well.

    Negatives
    - A single special infected can only be affected by one control effect in its lifetime

    Explanations:
Ahhhhhhhhhh, Cupid's Arrow Buff, the ultimate way to make 2 people fall in love with each other. After you deal damage to any special infected using the AWP, you can take control of that special infected to protect you. Special infected other than the tank can be controlled for a very long while and can only be killed by you. Tanks can be controlled for a short window only. A useful buff to have around for when you want the assistance of any uber infected to help you in defeating a tank. A nice support buff to also equipping alongside the pet buff for when you want more help from the infected other than just the Pet Charger. Just remember that special infected can only be affected by one control effect in its lifetime.

    |E| It wasn't that high

    Description:
Decreases fall damage caused by infected by 10% and increases needed damage to become ragdoll by 300HP.

    Positives:
+ Fall Damage is reduced when you are forced to fall off where you were standing due to infected knockback attacks.
+ Needed damage to become ragdoll from any fall is increased by 300HP.
+ Useful Buff in versus for when you are on a map with a risk of Dying from Bitch-slaps
    Negatives:
    - Not the most useful Defensive Buff in the Defensive Buff Set since it will only reduce fall damage caused by infected, not by yourself.

    Explanation:
Oh SHIIII..... (You are doomed to fall to death). Ah wait, im alive! but how? Oh now i see It wasn't that high Buff saved me. The Buff itself decreases fall damage caused by infected by 10%. It also increases the needed damage to become ragdoll from any fall by a large amount, making it possible to be defibbable from dying in a high fall. It is a useful Buff in versus due to the use of it when you need to take the risk of being killed by bitch-slaps. It however isn't the most useful defensive buff set since the fall damage reduction only applies to infected hitting you, causing you to fall. Not by other means.

    |E| Flaming Sword

    Description:
Sets your sword on fire, making it instantly ignite the infected it hits and deal a mixture of fire and melee damage instead of just melee damage. Additionally, pierces melee weapon attack defenses of infected by 10%.
<Works only with katana and machette>

    Positives:
+ Infected that are hit instantly ignite.
+ Useful Buff for destroying Special Infected, Uber infected or not.
+ One of the best Other Buffs to be combined with the Butcher Buff to make a good Offensive Buff Set.

    Negatives:
    - Buff effect that pierces melee weapon attack defense of infected won't work.
    - Buff effects make the melee weapons applicable to not work on Duelist Tanks.

    Explanation
The hot slashes of a burning melee blade, who would think that a flametongue sword could be possible? The Flaming Sword buff will let your melee slashes with the katana and machete weapons instantly ignite infected hit. That's why it is a useful Buff for destorying Special Infected with, regardless of their health even if they are an Uber Infected, they will still die quickly to the fire on them. Combining the Flaming Sword Buff with the Butcher Buff will make the melee weapons powerful against infected because of their usefulness together in the Offensive Buff Set. The fact that the Flaming Sword Buff has been known to pierce melee weapon attack defenses of the infected means that while it's a nice effect, it just won't work right now. Also the Buff effect overall on the melee weapons that work with the buff won't work on Duelist Tanks, watch out for when this situation happens.

    Intense Fire

    Description:
Infected ignited by you will receive 1% bonus damage per fire tick.

    Positives:
+ Infected receive increasing fire damage per fire tick overtime
+ Can be combined with other Buffs like On Fire, Flaming Sword to make using more than just throwables worth it.

    Negatives:
    - The Buff effect only applies when YOU ignite the infected in any way.
    - Overall a less useful Buff if you aren't relying on a throwable based Buff Set.

    Explanation:
When you want the fire to burn hotter and harder than ever on the infected, the Intense Fire Buff makes it so that the infected take increasing fire damage per fire tick overtime. It can be combined with other Buffs that give the fire effect with either a chance or on hit to make it easier for you to survive and to make the usage of other weapons a good deal. The Buff effect will only apply however when YOU ignite the infected in any way, not when its already ignited by someone else. It is overall a less useful Buff if you aren't relying on a throwable based Buff Set.

    |E| Super Moustachio Bless

    Description:
After triggering moustachio bless, you will be immune to crowd control for the total duration
<Blocks: Pounce, Ride, Charge, Pummel, Tongue, Tank Punch, Ability CC>

    Positives:
+ You are immune to crowd control attacks for the entire duration.
+ Any ability that gives knockback is also blocked from affecting you.
+ Useful in versus for when you need to get to the Saferoom quickly or get out of a tank's way.

    Negatives:
    - Less useful on Buff Sets that don't focus on Defensive Buffs.

    Explanation:
You are immune to all damage, but then here comes a charger, seeking to end your life with a karma charge down into a death zone... How do you prevent that? Get the Super Moustachio Bless Buff! This Buff makes you immune to all crowd control for the total duration of the Moustachio Bless effect. Now you can't be inflicted with knockback from any ability that can affect you with it. Useful for versus for when you want to get to the Saferoom quickly or to get out of a special infected or the tank's way. The Buff is less useful on Defensive Buff Sets though.

    Strength Burst

    Description:
Gives you an insane amount of strength, causing nearby infected of any class to be constantly shoved away. Additionally, you will not be able to be incapacitated for the duration of the effect. The effect will cause severe damage to your muscles, causing you to lose 25% max health for the round.
    <Duration: 8 seconds>
<Activable in the !buy menu once per round>
<Tanks with less than 50,000 HP can't be shoved away>

    Positives
+ You get to shove most infected classes away including most tank classes for a small amount of time.
+ You can't be incapacitated for the duration of the effect.

    Negatives
    - 25% Maximum HP Decreased instantly for the rest of the round.
    - The Buff effect can only be used once per round.
    - Tanks with less than 50k Maximum HP cannot be shoved away.
    - More of a least useful Other Buff in Most Buff Sets that don't rely on hardly used Buffs.

    Explanation:
You get the power of a Fighter Tank with his muscle in your arms for a short amount of time. The Strength Burst Buff will let you shove most infected and most tank classes away constantly for a short amount of time. It's a good thing that you cannot be incapacitated because the Buff effect would simply be wasted if you were to go down to a harassing special infected. When you do use the Buff effect though you instantly lose 25% of your Maximum HP for the rest of the round and it can only be used once per round. Tanks that have less than 50k Maximum HP cannot be shoved away to prevent them being killed easily. This Buff is considered to be more of a least useful Other Buff in Most Buff Sets that don't rely on hardly used Buffs.

The Types of Buff Sets + Benefits + Tips for effectively using that buff set

In mgftw, where it is not known in the buff categories itself, there exists a range of Buff Set play styles that people would be using in COOP. These Buff Set play styles exist to serve many purposes, from going all out as a damage dealer to the infected to the tank that defends against damage from tanks while luring them as crowd control to the support given to the survivors to increase their survivability in COOP. There will be always 1 or more play styles that people do often enjoy playing in COOP. Here I will list the type of Buff Sets (Play styles) that you can consider when deciding your buffs in COOP.

    - 300% additional damage for 8 seconds on the revenge target that killed any other survivor.
    - 50% additional damage and attacks ignore defense for 30 seconds. cooldown: 5 minutes.

    - you can take control of any special infected hit for 2 minutes and any tank hit for 10 seconds, effect only applies once per special infected life.
    - additional health that is scaled with your current level.

Tips for effectively using this buff set
    - The recommended time to activate the berserk buff is when you are able to get a lot of damage onto the tank with the avenger buff active for 8 seconds without getting interrupted. You can really push down the tank's health to force a phase to happen earlier than normal.
    - If you want to use the witch hunter buff to its maximum effectiveness in each map, try to be the person with the buff that gets the witches killed yourself without taking any damage.
    - Most of the offensive buffs are considered to be effective against tanks when you can use a weapon of your choice very well.
    - The additional damage dealt from weapons is the most increased when you use the AWP while scoped in to fire shots at infected.
    - You can spawn a pet charger to help get the damage dealt against the tank. Or you can use the effect of the cupid's arrow buff to get 1 special infected for 2 minutes to help against a currently ongoing tank, especially if it's an uber special infected, which is really helpful.
    - Swap out one of the alternative buffs for the other alternative buff Finale Dominator when your currently in any finale. Each special infected killed will increase some of your basic stats by a small amount for each special infected kill done in a short allocated period of time. Useful for making yourself more effective with the other survivors.

    - If you are running low on health during a tank fight and don't want to suffer an unwanted death, go kill off common and special infected to help your team, you are also regenerating yourself with THP from the excitement buff and while time passes also regenerating yourself with the morphine injector buff.
    - Try not to be incapacitated if you are frozen, even though you are prevented from instantly dying to the freezing tank's punch, you can still be shattered easily if the tank focuses you down long enough.
    - Use the chainsaw melee weapon in maps where possible its likely your going to encounter a lot more common and special infected.
    - Try to conserve your M60 ammo so you don't have to use your own bounty to buy any more M60's when you run out of free weapons.

Tips for effectively using this buff set
    - To effectively aggro a tank at close range, it is recommended you use shotguns for their compressed shell and piercing bullets buff. Each increasing damage output increases the chance of the tank being able to aggro you until someone deals damage to aggro the tank away from you.
    - To effectively make a tank come closer to you from long range, it is recommended you use a sniper weapon that constantly hits with high accuracy or the AWP/Scout weapons to make high burst damages having a very high chance to take the aggro away from another survivor being focused down and directing it to you. A good thing to do if you want to tank the damage instead of having that other survivor tank it especially if they have no defense.
    - If you need to heal because your low on HP and don't want to suffer anymore tank aggro's let someone else aggro the tank if its currently trying to focus you down and make the best usage of your healing buffs by avoiding infected damage for sometime.
    - If you want to make battles against the Butcher Tank easier, use the health dispenser when you don't have enough bounty for another first aid kit or when your first aid kit is healing for only 25% of your maximum HP.
    - Use the love is in the air buff to favorite someone that needs defense to tank against tanks themselves, if they have the same buff equipped as well, get them to favorite you so you can't take damage.

Tips for effectively using this buff set
    - when using pipe bombs near tanks and you plan on dealing huge damage to them. make sure they don't explode cars nearby or they might cause teammates to be killed from fall damage when knockbacked by the explosion.
    - use your grenade trap buff to place grenade traps in the right places on the map and you will help your teammates a lot by causing incoming special infected to be killed quickly if you know where to look for them.
    - If you want to save yourself from being focused down by a chasing tank, quickly place a pipe bomb trap down and lure it into that so it freezes and you have a quick moment to get away from it.

    - Need to melee your way through an area? use pills before you do so and you'll have an easier time at killing common and special infected alike with the hyperactive and ninja buffs respectively
    - Need to run away from the tanks quickly, but adrenaline run buff can't make you faster than the tank? Use the immolation buff to make yourself faster so that you may perhaps be able to outrun and out maneuver the tank.

Tips for effectively using this buff set well
    - It is important to know when you need to go on the offensive to get the tank to focus down on you and when you will need to go on the defensive to tank the damage the tank throws at you. Knowing when and where for each tank can make tank fights take less time to do.
    - The recommended time to activate the berserk buff is when you are able to get a lot of damage onto the tank with the avenger buff active for 8 seconds without getting interrupted. You can really push down the tank's health to force a phase to happen earlier than normal.

Tips on effectively using this buff set well
    - If your expecting multiple tanks to show up and or there is a possibility of a supreme knight tank appearing, taking this buff set makes you well defended against most special infected attacks.
    - If a shaman and knight tank happen to spawn in the unlikely event it happens, make sure to get their focus on you since having the shaman and knight handler for both tanks makes you greatly reduce damage dealt to you and cannot get mutated thanks to the mutated shield buff.
    - In the unlikely event that a freezing tank who would dare to wipe your team appears, using the frozen protection buff greatly reduces the chance of a game over thanks to the tank no longer dealing 1000 damage to you as a tenacity buffed survivor. be sure to take advantage of this and sacrifice yourself for the team if you want the freezing tank to die quickly.

    - If you run out of grenade launchers for the entire chapter, don't replace it with a new one, unless the one found isn't towards the end of the current chapter. it will be refilled in the next chapter so that it can be used again.
    - When you run out of grenade launchers to find and buy, use a high rate of fire weapon and throw pipe bombs often to make easy work of CI, SI and tanks. this can often help your team in situations when they really need it, the zombie erradicator buff on you can make killing CI's easy for good accumulation on the pipe bomb damage dealt.

    Thank you for the guild
    I have several questions

    1. I can not find the mission to accomplish to gain the buff |Q| Piercing Bullets

    2. I can not find buff Enhanced Anger Ignition

    3. Does buff |E| Flaming Sword still exist ?

thank you for taking time reading my questions

  12. Your welcome, and thank you for the questions fufu :)

    1. The mission your looking for to complete in order to gain the |Q| Piercing Bullets buff is the three completed quests given to you by Theodora, unlockable from level 40's or so on. You need to complete the 3rd quest "Inseperable III" out of the three given to you in order to get the buff as a reward. You can unlock Theodoras quests i think after having completed brians quests if i remember.

    2. The Enhanced Anger Ignition Buff was a christmas event exclusive buff only able to be gotten if you randomly received it from opening a Rabbid Reindeers Team Gift.

    3. The |E| Flaming Sword buff does exist, you were able to gain this valentine event exclusive buff during the event itself if you had enough cupid tokens to exchange for it.

I'll let you in on the fact that i'm starting to develop a Usage of Buffs and Infected Roles Guide specifically aimed at the Infected Buffs. Look forward to more updates soon.

Thanks a lot for the super fast response
and I am sorry for one more question

    In this coming event
the buff we are able to gain , does it includes the following

    1. eradicator
    2. beserk
    3. acid protecter

    thank you very much

  14. Thanks again for the question fufu :)

The Zombie Erradicator and Acid Protection Buffs were able to be gained at the halloween event back in 2015. Yet this year's halloween event did not include them (it was also a Hidden Infected only event). As far as i know though and at random these buffs can be given out during HonorCode's finding events. For the Berserk Buff though, you were able to get this buff back in the christmas event if you have managed to randomly obtain it from opening a Bloody Snowmen Team Gift.

It is indeed a very useful buff dictionary
thank you timkit for taking the time writing it
one small suggestion that if it possible
can you add a commentary to each buff about if it is for coop only
maybe it will be more time-saving for people to try them out one by one
    thank you

where to find Tank Party Crasher Buff and Focused Buff?

  18. Thanks for your question mh, first of all the Tank Party Crasher and Focused Buffs can be gained as random buffs from opening up the Bloody Snowmen Team Gift in Versus. You were able to get this team gift by winning a Versus match during the Christmas Event period where you are on the Bloody Snowmen side and successfully receiving the item with a low chance to have it happen.

Once you have your buffs you can find them both in the Offensive Buffs sub-section of the Survivor Buffs section.
