I chose the first option ( I like it ) because when we could self-revive while the SI was attacking you, the high level players would have enough bounty to buy a med kit and keep self reviving which was annoying for SI and now the game play seems more realistic because first if you had 3 or 4 high level players in your team, most of the players in that team would survive but now there is a less chance of all 10 or most of the team surviving and now even low level players can kill the high level players which gives them plenty of exp and points towards levelling up.

    I voted no, but...
...perhaps we could have purchasable knives, that go up in price like health items do.

Yes, i agree with them, however I just feel that we should allow further restrictions such as "Self-revive only twice per round". This can be used in conjunction to the existing setup. Undoubtedly, this will get players pissed off and they will be begging to have the existing setup again (i.e the no self-revive with SI on you).

Get players more pissed of than they already are then they will most likely accept the existing setup lol. My ideas are just too good sometimes.

    I voted no.

    Why?

Because it doesn't promote teamwork. I still see rushers daily, it hasn't really changed at all.

Only thing the self revive change did was make SI more fun to play and Survivors more frustrating and kind of boring to play.

I suggest putting the old self revive back but SI shouldn't die when a survivor self revives they should just get shoved off. One main thing that made the old self revive pretty crap was the fact that SI got killed when survivors self revived, that also made hunter pretty crap.

Also if you guys really want to promote teamwork there are better ways.

    Like...

    1. Give extra points and exp based on how many survivors are together. If there is only 2 survivors you don't get any extra points or exp, if there is 3 gain 10% boost, if there is 4 gain 20% etc.

    2. Give more points and exp for helping a survivor.

    3. More challenges that promotes teamwork like "Make it to safe room with 5 survivors or more". Atm there is only one challenge that promotes teamwork and that is advanced cure.

    4. Give extra points and exp depending on how many survivors made it to safe room.

    5. Remove rambo challenge because it promotes rushing.

There are just so many more ways to promote teamwork where you don't need to change self revive at all.

why the fuck remove rambo? its still a teamwork challenge. work as team = dont get incapped
and to increase exp/pts per helping as survivor is good idea.
for the challenges i already opened a thread with lots of ideas. check it out
its already 500 exp/20pts for survive a round at vs, thats more than enough. if u work as team all survie and get exp/pts.
just make faster self revive and give incapped extended hand back then is all fine :D

i agree with some of justme's idea..

    his idea has potential..

if we are really promoting about teamwork.. rambo challenge should not even be there.. it makes players wanna rush more and win the challenge..as once they get incap.. they lose the points.. and most of the time, players go for rambo challenge than the rest.. its the easiest exp reward compare to others..

Why its is totally unrealistic that you can selfrevive when an infected is on you, its just bullshit.

And sure, people will rush now, and they were then, but now they die, when they used to make it with the old selfrevive

    i voted Yes but..

you can see this both ways.

1st way is that it will stop rushers from rushing a little bit(depending on how many people rush)
and with the new skill negatitor its impossible to almost kill somebody on the Versus server.
But if there is 6 survivors left and they all get jumped by a hunter its game over for the whole team. so what i suggest here is that you can revive your teammate while being attacked by a infected.

2nd way is on the COOP server. here i would suggest to leave the selfrevive on, as bots dont always help you up and just stand around you watching you die.

But there are no bots on coop if there are more then 4 players

I'm going to have to agree with Joerve here. It is really unrealistic to selfrevive when the SI are on you.

I have honestly seen an improvement in teamwork here. Can someone please tell me how this is making teamwork worse? I would really like to know. People stay together more to stay alive, the rushers can get votekicked or get killed, and the game is more realistic. What could be wrong with that?

when in reallife you get jumped by a dog. you can still fight the dog off by kicking and smashing if needed.
so if you would say "it makes it more unrealistic" i would have to say no.

But like i said before. you can see it from different ways. so its hard to get a poll from here. people sometimes dont like changes when its not in the benefit of the player

Yeah you can fight off a dog when you are attacked but you cant use a first aid kit while being attacked by a dog

    :p

Have you ever seen resident evil? Those are ZOMBIE dogs :P Not regular ones.

I would love to see anyone try to fight one of those off.

Fighting off is more like using your knife.

Using a first aid kit while being attacked by an SI is different.

I doubt Resident Evil would have made as much money if when Alice was getting attacked by a zombie dog, she pulls out a med kit and uses it to get to dog off and kill it....unless there was a brick in it or something.

ya i agree :) but what i ment is that you can use 1 medickit to fight off the infected. as you cant fight off the infected with your hands in L4D. not all low level people got a knife. or it should be a random buff everybody gets at start.

btw i like the resident evil zombie dogs hehe.
But i wonder what you think about the reviving teammate with pills while both are being attacked by infected.
As my example explained that what if all survivors are being attacked at the same time and nobody has a knife? then its all over. making the infected more overpowered then

Well, if that happens, then you are just fk'd :P

We aren't always supposed to be able to win. The game would be no fun if all the survivors always made it to the safehouse and the SI never killed anyone. Believe it or not, we are supposed to have everyone die once in a while.

and a little tip: the only time I ever use my knife if when I have 10HP left from an SI on me. I always give my teammates a chance to come get me before using my knife. That way it lasts longer :)

Here's a thought. Remove !players and !teams in PR VS and allow a super shuffle once every campaign. This would stop people from teamstacking and viewing players to see who's on which team. Score stinks with current shuffle system and totally voids out campaigns scores.

Possibly give a survivor bonus at end of map? IE for every survivor left standing it multiplies the bonus. 6 survivors left = x6 bonus.

i disagree, scrambling once every campaign promotes teamstack more..

you get to farm and beat the same team again and again till the whole campaign ends..

im personally ok with the current scrambling of everyround.. it may not be perfect yet.. but it helps to scramble players all over the place.. meaning less chances of teamstack and players get to play with different player and knows whos for teamwork and whos for rushing..

and without the players and team commands, you wont know if teams are balance.. it can be 7 vs 10 or 9 vs 4 for all that matters..
