So pointless, if you don't want the nsa to read your email just encrypt it with pgp and sent it over hotmail. Done.

Or run your own mailserver like we do. MG email is NSA proof :)

Personally, I have nothing to hide. They can read all my emails if they want, but they were probably get bored of all the cat videos I'm sending to my family and friends...

You know people always think the NSA (or any other intelligence service) is so smart but the fact is, if you know something, if you're really smart and you know how to hack or do anything serious then believe me you're not working for the government, you're working for a commercial company, probably a multi-national where you can make lots and lots of money or your freelancing.

I heard a story the other day, the NSA couldn't even read the email of their own employees because their systems were outdated. I heard a story where they threw away 4000 computers because of a virus infection (lol). That's how smart they are.

And how come a guy like Snowden who was just a systems administrator has access to all those secret files? Because their system is a mess and they don't have the right people on the job.

And now they shut down Lavabit. Well you know if I was a terrorist (which I'm clearly not FYI, you never know who might be reading) I wouldn't use any 3rd party email system that claims to be NSA proof, or hacker proof, or encrypted or whatever. If I want to keep something a secret I'll upload an encrypted file that takes 2000 years to crack to a private SSL secured offshore ftp server somewhere in Siberia.

That's the problem with what the NSA is doing: Dumb systems only catch dumb criminals while the smart ones are just taking advantage of it by sending out false information and creating distracts to keep the NSA busy so their real threads can slip through and are unseen.

Do you really believe the NSA prevented 53 terrorist attacks because of PRISM? Anybody who does should have their head examined. They probably arrested 53 kids that were making jokes on Twitter or something which happens all the time.

I've been watching Obama on Jay Leno this week (it's on Youtube) and all he does is tell lies and if it's not a lie it's complete bullshit and the crowd is actually applauding and cheering all the time when he says something. I'm sorry but I don't have high hopes for the American people when I see that, we would never believe that BS here but they all seem to eat it up like it was a chocolate cake.

So you wouldn't mind if the NSA installs cameras in your living room, bad room, bath room, black box in your car, chip implant in your skin and so on? You have nothing to hide right?

I hate it so much when people say they have nothing to hide. I do have something to hide, we all have something to hide. I have my privacy, it's important.

And reading your email is just the start, what's next? Would you feel comfortable when cameras are following you all day long?

Rofl.. Must be quite a budget or maybe throwing away 4000 computers was cheapper than hiring "certificated" and "approved/authorized" guys/agents to clean them.. Or maybe they wanted to save time.. but what a waste indeed.

As far as i know, someone from inside told the news reporter once, that tons people has access to all that info Snowden had, and that "it was bound to happen".

Heh, that might be the most clever thing to do.. but what if this guy had no knowledge of such things depsite being in such job? Then he would obviously go for the premade services.. It's same with game server hosting.. You either do it all yourself, or buy a ready bundle from 3rd party seller and use their services.

The usual westren propaganda is to make useless thing useful with wordplay or lies, and claim the support of people :P

I actually subscribed to Obama's news letter during the last election as i was interested, and all he emailed was: Money; We need more money!; Our competitor has more money than us; Normal citzens of america, open up (your wallets) and support our goal for better future.

Ive already unsubscribed long ago, but the spam is still weekly..

I wonder if they meant all this when they talked about upcoming "Information Era" in the distant past.

WOULD? I already have to deal with this!

In all seriousness, I love the "I have nothing to hide" bluff-call. Funny stuff, never thought to notice it!

The nicer someone is and the less they curse, the more I suspect them as someone with a basement full of bodies.

They try to control you through fear... they can't do shit.

Cameras following you all over the world? Fuck that lol

I don't get why they're so scared because of all this Snowden situation. Oh yeah, exposure

Fear? I'm just having laughs about how they messed up big time when snowden brought this to daylight..

It's been suspected for years.. ever since facebook was founded any sane person would treat that place as a data vault for any NSA/FBI profiling teams.. You got half of the world in one place with all of their data and personal info, including their last doings posted nicely in order.. the NSA/FBI would be stupid if they didin't use such a chance for spying.
