[NEW] IRC services for mgftw.com | still being worked on

As some already noticed, we're running our own IRC server for some extra server management for our admins, which we also want to make available for our MG players.

What is IRC you? you might wonder (copy&paste from wiki)

IRC is still a tool used by big communities these days to watch over their servers easily, and to control them where when is needed.

What we want to do with our IRC services for our MG members is to provide some extra fun and some additional features for our MG Donor's.

Like:

- a game bot (play trivia, poker, uno, etc with your friends)
- Able to chat to players playing on our servers (only for donor & admins)
- 1 to 1 admin talk for help when needed (if someone is online ofcourse)
- Be the first to hear any news about MG on irc
- Can create a own channel for friends (once approved by Roots)
- Guild war channels (still being developed)
- Event channel for new events

And some more features which will be added soon.

our mg irc server host = irc.mgftw.com
port number: 6667

the channels so far we use are:
#mgftw
#mgadmins
#help (still being developed)

once connect you can register your nickname with our mg services bot
simpele use /nickserv help in main window to find out how to use this.

the more the better

 

a suggestion for IRC is to make it to be able to click a servername and jsut talk to that server because typing the servername everytime is pretty complicated especially wen ur talking to more than 1 server.

 

Now admins can troll ppl whitout playing or at work.

 

you can make your own "keybindings" for that. ask PING he can help you with it

 

Depends, you can't really click a server name for it, you would have to have short aliases

eg for EU vs you type /vseu <text> it would do in chat !prvs-eu.msg <text>

But of course you would need to tell the difference between .msg, .page, or whatever you want to do, unless you only want to do .msg

Message me in IRC with whatever idea you have and i will try to script it.

any help for Android users on IRC

Hei i use samsung galaxy and is it some support for android users???,Used andro irc and i logged on mgftw on irc ,but could not register my nickname and me as a donor. used /nickserv but did not worked, accttualy didn' have right to write anything. So was just logged as guest and watch.

 

Next time you go there click the chat bar below where everyone speaks and type /nick <name_you_want>

Then type /ns register <password> <email>

Then do /ns identify <password> and you will be registered

 

What is with the invite only and how do you invite someone?

 

remove invite only:
/mode #mgftw -i

invite someone:
/invite #mgftw nick

 

I'm the only non-admin active on irc... I'm getting lonely with all these admins abusing me...

I think I fixed it, for some reason someone set a key for the channel, I expect accidently.
