Need Help I can't join Hidden Infected Server

    could somebody help me? I cant join hidden infected. My Name is [DLR] Rick Grimes and I've been trying to join the server but no luck, help would be appreciated.

    Open your developer console with tilde. ~ key.

    If you see a message "Expecting 1234 Got 1233" or something that just means there is a new L4D2 update and we need to update the servers.

    Chances are, that's what you dealt with.

    Let me know if there is some specific issue.

    I checked the console and I don't see the message, "Expecting 1234 Got 1233" I can join any other mgftw except Hidden Infected, I don't know what to do.

    actually erik its ok now, I'm in, thanks for the help though. I was told to type the IP address in the console

    Can you join any EU servers? Is it only Hidden Infected server which you cant join?

    Can you copy paste console output or any error message you might see?

    Its only the Hidden Infected server I can't join, A friend told me to type the server IP address into the console and was brought to the load screen however after the long wait it said "Connecting Failed after 10 retries." maybe I'm missing an update.

    Sometimes in the event of a DDoS attack the mitigation becomes active and all traffic gets re-routed through a filter. That's probably the reason why you can't connect because sometimes the filter gives false positives.

    The only thing you can do is wait for the attack to be over after which you can probably connect again. Right now I don't see any filtering active so I'm sure you should be able to connect.

    We had a DDoS attack (or call it a failed attempt to :P) yesterday on Canada as well so this could be the reason:

    Oh Okay, well I'm hoping I can join the Hidden Infected servers now if that is the case, and thanks for the help.

    That's weird, did you reset everything? Router, cable modem etc? We're not blocking anything from our end.

    You can also try and spoof your mac address to get a new IP address and try again. Perhaps your IP is blocked somewhere down the line.

    I was thinking since I'm using my college internet, they're probably blocking me from joining, but I can still join other Mgftw games, oh well I guess I'll have to share another network connection with my friends on campus, they have their own internet.
