Problem on using chatbox

    Hi I am a MG server player
    I recently find I cannot input any text is some of the MG servers
    the problem is that when i press Y/U, the textbox comes out
    However, After I input text and press "enter" to send, no message comes out
    bindings or using console to "say" do not work also

    this problem happens on me only, and only in ASIA VS and EU COOP (ie, no problem in ASIA COOP and US server)
    may i know is this my own computer problem or my steam user acct problem?
    does it have any solution?

    This should let you type in the chat box and use commands. Even though this fix did work for me, I still occasionally have to restart L4D about once a week or so. I have found when I often change sprays, it causes the freezing, do not know if related. Please let me know if you have any questions

    I have try this out and its works
    However if I start binding keys, only the first round I play the problem solve
    after the second round, the problem comes out again.
    so I am not using binding at the monent

    Yuri,

    I would try to bind the keys while the config.cfg file is NOT in read only mode. Once you have the binds set, exit L4D and then make the config.cfg read only. This should lock in the binds.

    Have you tried using console commands to bind opening the chatbox? Try entering these commands in the console.

    Code:
    bind "y" "messagemode"
bind "u" "messagemode2"
    Then if you can open the chatbox by pressing y or u in-game add the commands above to the end of your autoexec.cfg located at "left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/cfg".
